Yup big transfer happens, you win. None, I win. 10 bucks... The cut off date is whenever the EPL says the transfer ends. Quote and confirm and lezz go! Dude haha I thought you were betting on transfers happening! But bah, let's do it. 50m pounds sterling and above before the transfer window shuts and I win. Gotta bet on something I understand anyway! Are you sure? I don't wanna make it look I forced you into this or anything.

It seems the bottom teams are complaining about the neutral venues: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11544708/premier-league-restart-neutral-stadiums/An agreement was reached to use "eight to ten neutral stadiums" following a 3½-hour video meeting of the 20 “shareholder” clubs.
But the Telegraph claim 'Project Restart' is at risk of being delayed because six teams do not want to continue the campaign at neutral venues.
Brighton, Watford, West Ham, Bournemouth, Norwich and Aston Villa are the clubs in question.
These teams make up the bottom six of the Premier League - with the latter three slumped in the relegation zone.
Seagulls club chief executive Paul Barber has claimed his team are behind plans to restart the season, but feel they are at a disadvantage. Sure, teams are at a disadvantge not playing at home but it's something all teams will have to cope with so it's fair across the board. I feel like this is just excuses at this point. Even if they somehow managed to resume the league as normal and played all the games as they would have been the releaged teams will probably still have a whinge at something.

It's just a flimsy excuse from those teams, they knew that playing the games in usual venues are not possible, they just need something to rant about, they are not at anymore disadvantage than other teams and what really is the point of playing at home if the fans aren't going to be there ? They've probably all played about 3/4 of their home games already and how much difference as that afford them ?

I don't get it either, this dissent against the neutral venues.
You're a small team, all due respect, but I'd rather lose the suppose of my 10k strong home crowd than face the 40k-strong cauldron of the big boys. Everyone loses home advantage, but they also lose their away handicap. Fair is fair, and you can't expect people to stay home to not watch their team when they're playing. Anfield management already said the stadium would never open for games not even for a trophy ceremony if they win it, and they're getting a lot of flak but I honestly can't see any other way.
If we want the season to restart, it has to be under these undesirable but absolutely necessary circumstances.

I can't wait for the proper football to start. It seems we are finally getting there. German League should start first in about one week time and then hopefully Premier League will follow few weeks after that.
I heard a lot of different proposals about how it should look once the football starts, but following is something that I would choose if it were up to me: -neutral grounds -no supporters -games every 3 days -normal half lengths but 5 subs instead of 3 -maybe some social distancing rules like no hugging during celebrations. I don't this will help but it will be done probably just so it looks like everything possible has been taken into account
Those sort of concessions seem like they could work. Somebody will always complain but is seems like the best and most fair option.

UK media are circulating stories that if the lower table teams refuse to play in neutral venues then we all might vote to relegate the current bottom 3.

UK media are circulating stories that if the lower table teams refuse to play in neutral venues then we all might vote to relegate the current bottom 3. I think this might be just BS speculation from the media on what could happen, but I'd be surprised if it did actually happpen. They'd probably just sue the PL if they were automatically relegated. What might happen is the PL could vote on it and if it passess then all teams will have to play in neutral grounds. If teams refuse to play then they'll just forfeit the game and those points which will obviosuly get them relegated anyway. If basically the league agrees to play the games but certain teams refuse then that's their problem. Imagine being so petty to not want to just get the league over and done. Everyone has to deal with the neutral grounds so it's fair to everyone. Would they rather not have the league finished than leave it open indefintely. I'm sure they would certaibly prefer to play the games than end the season as it is and relegate the current teams in the relegation zone. I can't wait for the proper football to start. It seems we are finally getting there. German League should start first in about one week time and then hopefully Premier League will follow few weeks after that.
At least the Bundesliga can be used as some sort of tester. If they can carry on without any problems then I'm sure the UK and other leagues can as well. However, if it's a fuck up and people start getting ill or worse then at least the other leagues will know not to restart.

@Trofo: Me too! Bundesliga won't air here though, I saw some news about it, so I'll be looking online for streams but won't be surprised if can't find any. Neutral grounds have to be the way to go now. I hate it, and I guess no open top bus for this season but if we have to, we have to. I think all your suggestions are precisely what EPL will do, but there's today's weekly meeting to see if Project Restart changes anything.
@LFC @hilarious: Read a story about Barrow who've been fighting to get back into EFL for decades, and they felt they were unjustly voted out all those years ago just because teams had to travel 120 miles to get to their stadium. Can't see it happening again, voting.

The teams at the bottom are embarrassing themselves, they’ll get bullied into finishing their games butI don’t like the fact they’re using COVID19 & effectively people dying to try & avoid relegation.
They should agree to the neutral grounds & just get on with it.

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/coronavirus-sport-news-live-premier-league-project-restart-latest-a4435571.htmlCulture Secretary Oliver Dowden has stressed that the go ahead for the resumption of the Premier League season has not been given yet.
Speaking during an interview on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday morning, Dowden said he remained hopeful that a plan could be agreed upon, but reiterated that it has to make sense in terms of public safety. Gov says no... Or not yet. I've got a feeling they won't give permission for quite a while yet, or certainly not by mid June. Teams would probably want at least 2-4 weeks of training, though as I said before I think they should be preparing to start given only a weeks notice. So called professional athletes should be able to get themselves ready within that time. The teams at the bottom are embarrassing themselves, they’ll get bullied into finishing their games butI don’t like the fact they’re using COVID19 & effectively people dying to try & avoid relegation.

Don't need to bully them. Sort the league out so it can go ahead and if they don't want to play on neutral grounds then fuck em. Everyone is in the same boat and the PL is doing everything they can to get the season up and running again but if they'd rather not play then that's their descion. Whining about things like neutral grounds when everyone is in the same boat is a moot point.

Agree hilarious, let’s get teams back training in a week or so, then we can start playing games again in June. The virus is going nowhere, we can’t put the world on hold for years whilst we try to get a vaccine. People will die, admittedly a very, very small % of people who get the virus. People die all over the world every day though, the whole saga is way overblown.

Some new info regarding the medical part of the 'Project restart': Players, coaches and staff will need to be tested at least twice a week at a significant cost to the clubs, with tests being privately sourced.
It is because some players in other leagues tested as positive. The full article can be found here. There is another round of talks scheduled for today, so hopefully we will have some good news soon.

THE GOVERNMENT has given the Premier League the green light to resume behind closed doors from June 1.
The BBC article I read actually says no professional sports til June 1 at the earliest, not even behind closed doors. So looks like hilarious's source was right, mid-June looks most likely, but there's nothing preventing people from training now. Surprised to see July being considered for public venues though. Brighton players tested positive was the news I read yesterday, and I'm sure this played at least a little into that decision.

That's some news! It means if all is goes well, does that means teams opting not to complete the season or claiming the would be at a disadvantage for playing at neutral wouldn't have a choice ? To be honest I wasn't expecting the government to give the go ahead for PL resumption but we'll see how things will proceed from here, and I'm sure a better insight will be provided on what to expect from leagues with preparation to resume sooner.

Nah. It just means the gov have given the go-ahead for sports to go ahead. Now the Premier League will have some negotiations to do with teams on how to proceed. I'm sure whatever suggestions or propositions they make some teams will complain about it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52579299The Premier League says it has listened to the objections of some clubs to the use of neutral grounds if the season resumes and will support them in putting those views to the authorities.
Chief executive Richard Masters said the organisation was in an "ongoing dialogue" with government, police and ground safety officials.
"Everybody would prefer to play at home and away if at all possible, and it's clear to see some clubs feel more strongly about that than others," he said after a shareholders' meeting. Personally, if they can get all the teams to agree to it except for the few straglers at the bottom they should just tell them tough shit. It's not a disadvantage when it's something all the teams have to deal with. Just seems like the relegation teams are looking for excuses to me.

Yup, and it's starting to get really annoying. They want the TV money because they will be bankrupt without it, they want protection regarding player salaries and contract expirations and when all they have to do is agree to games being played on neutral ground and they cannot even do that, it is really irritating to watch. There is simply no scenario in which some of them will avoid relegation, it is not a charity event but one of the most competitive environments in sports in general. Somebody should tell them to stop crying, it's embarassing.
