I appear to have a dead ethernet jack on one of the two machine i got today. troubleshooting ideas?
What do you mean by dead? Is the ethernet jack's lights blinking? Do you have the first one still plugged in? If so, did you change the static ip address or set it to dhcp? You may just have an ip address conflict.
When you are trying to network more than 1 of these things, first thing I do is reset it. Hold in the little black button for a few seconds.
https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/blob/master/manual/AntMiner%20FAQ.pdfNow, set your routers starting address to 100, then reboot it. All your devices will now have addresses of 100 or higher to avoid a conflict. Plug in your antminer and it will grab 99. Login and change the static ip to 98. Done. Now reset the second miner then plug it in. It will grab 99. If you have more, set the guy at 99 to 97. Repeat. Also, check that you have the latest firmware in the kernel log Feb. 07, 2014. If not, grab it here and flash it.

Edit: I just saw your post about it not lighting up. Yeah, send it back.
