Saw an interesting article today, thought I'd share it if anyone looking for a read:

I just put a notice on the facebook page advising Mintcoin users to withdraw their coins from Cryptsy.

Unfortunately it seems the rumours are true and that they are under investigation for suspicious conduct.

While Mintcoin withdrawals are likely unaffected for now, it seems they are halting Bitcoin withdrawals, so I suggest removing all coins from the exchange as soon as possible.

My advice to anyone is; act quickly on rumour when it comes to exchanges. Gox, mintpal, vircurex, cryptorush, etc. are the proof.

My advice for a while now has been to avoid cryptsy. Investigation or not, they just aren't capable of reacting in a timely manner to any changes/complications/updates/etc. This has been proven time and time again and not just with MINT but with a multitude of other coins that have no inherent problems besides the problems that cryptsy themselves create. To make matters worse, their communication of any issues/problems just plain sucks.

What proof do you have the rumors are true? Source? You can't just say so and leave us hanging with nothing to verify.

I don't have a reddit account, but can you ask them the OS they are on, and if they extracted the 7z file?

The BBcode for the OP was updated just a few hours after FuzzBawls post the last wallet updates, also jumped on IRC & let them know & then even sent a message to the mintcointeam account. There are so many improvements that could still be done, just not able to get an update any longer?

OPTIONAL UPDATE - v2.0.1.0

This patch is intended to be the last release of the 2.0 branch and the "beginning of the end" for the old and outdated single-file blockchain database structure. Before the next major version however, we wanted to make some of the network/message/cpu optimizations available. Some of the changes included in this release are:

  • Back ports from mainline bitcoin to improve message handling.
  • Disable some mining code that is no longer used during the pure proof-of-stake phase.
  • Bloom filter feature added to increase privacy.
  • Many small network optimizations.

The biggest benefit is much lower CPU usage and bandwidth used. While memory consumption still remains on the "high" side, a few memory leaks were fixed that will prevent a situation of exponential memory usage increase from occurring when the wallet is left open over extended periods of time.

HOW TO UPDATE

Since this release still runs on the single-file database format, updating is a simple process of replacing your binary executable. Please make sure that no MintCoin processes are currently running before replacing this file! Once the file has been replaced, start up your wallet/daemon as usual.

DOWNLOADS

Click the logo at the top of this post to go directly to the Github release page, where you will find all available wallet/daemon downloads.
For those of you that would rather download directly:

Daemons have no GUI!

All startup and RPC commands from previous versions, as well as conf file format remain the same.
All Images, Logos, and GUI elements remain consistent with previous 2.0 branch releases.

Work continues on the 2.1 release, which will further improve memory usage and introduce new features.

Has anyone seen this happen? A mintcoin transaction sent yesterday seems "stuck". The mintcoin explorer shows a coin balance reflecting the transaction, but the coins don't appear in the wallet.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/mint/tx.dws?5011375.htm

Outputs
Index   Redeemed in   Address   Amount
0   9b306f7ee989918f...   MisQT7u9nt12GsF3YPS6igCAvkqbVWa2D2   15.38844 MINT
1   Not yet redeemed   MgdCd9iurc28xgD7LQmKrVPV1jZ7BnyLFJ   442,221.48 MINT

What does this mean? Output "not yet redeemed"? This was sent yesterday?!!?

I upgraded my wallet to the most recent build yesterday and after it synced I notice I am missing 376,887 Mintcoins?  Shocked

I went from having 5586259 to 5209372.514076

I just loaded my backed up wallet from a few weeks ago & it has the same balance 5209372.414076 (I sent 10 mints to the new address the wallet generated to test before I loaded my back up wallet.

My wallet stays running 24/7 & I have staked coins in that 2 weeks so my back up wallet should not be the same balance as the one that has been staking since the backup.

I did and it said everything checked out with the newest wallet. I then closed her down and loaded my backup from a few weeks ago and had to do a repair. It repaired the wallet to the same amount in question.

I know it is only close to 16.00 USD in lost Mint but still that is 16.00 worth of Mint lost in a void.  Tongue

What build were you using before?
What's the explorer say?
Have you tried running it back on the earlier build?
What operating system?
