It's all about if the ICO is scam too I think. I did not meet so much scammed bounties, only a few as I remember, it's always important to choose highly rated ICO plus known bounty manager.

It's a sad reality that some bounties now are scam, I'm one of the victim and its really hard to accept the fact that all your efforts turn to dust after you participated legitimately. Now I really observed and read plan before joining a bounty.

The best way to handle your participation with bounties is to stick with either a respectable management company or a decent Bounty campaign manager. Amazix tend to represent campaigns that will be well run so I usually stick with their projects.

There are many factors you can use to understand whether the Bounty is scam or not. Firstly, you need to analyze the project itself - it is usually clear if it is scam. Then, you should pay attention to the Bounty Manager - it is desirable he has a good reputation on the forum. Lastly, you should check the Bounty pool - it is suspicious is it is more than 1M $.

Well maybe there will be chances that it won't pay if it's more than $1M yet many are still doing this and it actually works as many are get lured, well sometimes I'm guilty of this. Yet I believe if it's scam then it will be scam no matter what happen, like if their intention is to scam then it will be. I've seen icos that are good at first but after raising money they turned out greedy and run the money. Really money is the root of all evil.

When you are looking for a bounty mission, you can get a good bounty mission through some experienced bounty hunters. You can also find it yourself, but it will take you a lot of time, and I think that looking for a bounty mission is a Very annoying things, so I generally don't do this.

It is very difficult to know the bounties scam, because there are no clear signs that it is a scam. I never thought that was a scam, at least we tried to follow the bounties, maybe we got a gift. This is only for our side income, which we must have a main job. I usually choose bounties from the project team and whitepaper. Team and manager usually determine that bounties are a scam or not. So we try to choose bounties first, see the team and manager.

I'm also a bounty hunter since 2017 and scammed by some bounty campaigns. Its very hard to know which bounty campaign is the scam or not. The only way is get a clear idea about project and team members of the campaigns.

This is a bad side of the cryptocurrency market. If all the projects are successful, the cryptocurrency will break out, but it takes time and the market takes time. Of course, I don't recommend that you do too many airdrops or bounty. I think this is just entertainment. If you want to make money, you must invest.

Wherever there is a genuine product, there is apparently going to be a counterfeit of it somewhere. We are having too many scam bounty today because many people are willing to make money as well in cryptocurrency through a dubious way. Bounty scammers know that the interest of a great number of people is in bounty campaign aspect of crypto hence, they frame up a project and present it to be genuine in order to dupe people of there funds. This can not rule out the fact that there are genuine bounty as well. We just need to be very meticulous and observant in choosing a bounty so as avoid been scammed.

Unfortunately, because of last year's hype, a huge number of scammers and scam projects have come to the market now very much. Over time, the market will come to self-regulation and for now try to participate only in those campaigns in which at least a little confident.

I think we just got into such a period of the market, when the general mood is pessimistic. Therefore, many bounties either freeze or prolong for a period until they are sold. So it is potentially dangerous for investors

I think it's hard to be aware of scam bounty. Because every bounty seems like the beginning, it's hard for us to choose. In addition, we can examine several factors that help a bounty grow as an idea, a platform, a development team, and a number of other factors.

[1]Why are there so many scam bounties out there and [2]how are we to know which is scam or not
[1] Because there are many newbies that can easily be scammed by these scammers.
[2] Its difficult to know which are the scam and not but here are some of clues. If the project is cloud mining and lending platform thats an obvious scam.

True, at most cases they are scam, like Bitconnect and all its copies.
But there were some legit lending projects like MoneyToken, ETHLend or Fintrux.

Why are there so many scam bounties out there and how are we to know which is scam or not

It is inevitable to join a scam bounty if you are just going to apply without checking the team profile, white paper and all the information about the project. Even if you join well known bounty managers, some of their projects are scam. Research is the key to everything but we can't guarantee 100% that the project is scam even if the we did a lot of research. But it will help a lot and we can avoid wasting our efforts doing what we need to do. Don't just join bounties hastily. Read, read and read.

the risk is that if the ico sell very few tokens and they are far away from the hardcap, even the best project/team etc may turn in a scam.
