Hey everyone,

Please spread the love about our WOLF logo competition https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=611024.new#new

Also, I think we need to get listed on coinmarketcap.com so make sure you let Gliss know about WOLF.

This project is a team effort Smiley

thanks for the update! Smiley

Web Of Linked Finance (WOLF)
Project WOLF aims migrate Cryptocurrency from the Internet to the World Wide Web.

Massively Scalable and Accessible
Supported by every Javascript enabled web accessible device (phones, tablets, pcs, tv, consoles, ...) anywhere.
Unlimited applications
Applying Linked Data principles to the Blockchain enables any kind of well described data to be included in a block or transaction. This turns the Blockchain into a massive distributed database for any arbitrary data, and thus the catalyst for an infinite number of applications.
Useful Mining
By allowing arbitrary data in the blockchain, and being algorithm agnostic, Mining can be considered as Distributed Computing. For example a sha3+math+link algorithm may allow the processing of complex genome information, whilst scrypt+notify may allow an autonomous and anonymous social application to be developed.
Modular, Open, and Extensible
Anybody can freely create or extend any aspect of any component within the system, from new transaction types and algorithms through to alternative clients and applications. Consider the Blockchain as a stream of data, where applications can listen for and react to the specific types of data they are concerned with.
Catalyst for Change
Ascribing usefulness to the currency creation process and utilizing the most pervasive technologies available, we hope to create a platform that fosters unexpected reuse and independent innovation, spurring a new generation to create a multitude of valuable interoperable applications. Hopefully we'll also see some new ways of working, and getting paid - particularly through the rise of the Digital Autonomous Corporation.
Development Approach
A traditional Cryptocurrency WOLF has been created to provide a proven base for the project, and to ensure interoperability with the current cryptocurrency space. Each component of the new architecture will be created, tested, and bootstrapped to the existing currency, until eventually the new ecosystem entirely replaces the legacy system.

Web Mining
In an effort to provide a viable alternative to the ubiquitous advert sponsored web, we begin the development by creating in-browser mining software (it should be running right now!). In the future this should allow content-lockers and ad-zones to be replaced with background mining scripts in order to monetize web content.
Milestones: Prototype, Testnet Block, WOLF Chain Block, Alternative Chain Block, Unique Transaction Algorithm
Miner Management
Somewhere between a Mining Pool, an Ad Server, and a Compute Cluster Manager. This pivotal component collects new transactions from connected blockchain(s), splits the workload into smaller units (or shares) and delivers it for processing to connected Web Miners.
Milestones: Testnet Integration, WOLF Chain Integration, Multiple Chain Integration, Unique Transaction Support
Extensible WebChain
Blockchain migrated to Linked Data and mounted on the Web. Including a chain descriptor file which specifies the base requirements ()the data which must be present) and settings (configuration data, names, links, block targets, verification servers and so on), from this web mounted file the first block can be generated, and the chain thereafter.
Milestones: WOLF Chain Descriptor, WOLF Blocks and Transactions, New Random Chain, Legacy Existing Chain, Extended Transactions and Unique Data
Web Client Libraries
Core libraries for interfacing with the WebChain and consuming WebChain data.
Milestones: Base Library, WOLF Currency Client, Extended Data & Transaction Processing Support, Arbitrary Demo Application(s)

Mining Clarification
The Web Mining demo on the website is just a demo, it attempts to mine a valid genesis block for a new random chain every time you load the page - it is not yet connected to either the testnet or main wolf chain - this is the next step which is dependent on the Miner Manager (in development).

WOLF can however be mined in the traditional manner, setup insanitycoin-qt or insanitycoind (or a pool), and point scrypt miners at it (for example cgminer 3.5).

InsanityCoin.conf
Code:
rpcuser=myusername
rpcpassword=mypassword
rpcport=55445
testnet=0
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
gen=0
addnode=5.9.111.71

If you'd like to test your miners then you can point them at: stratum+tcp://5.9.111.71:3333/ -u admin.anything -p anythinghere this is a test stratum pool for the main chain, any blocks mined on this will go in to the pool of WOLF coins to be sold or destroyed.

Feedback Request
If the web mining demo doesn't run for you, please let me know with your device, operating system, and browser version.
Similarly, if you get a speed over 500,000 hashes per second please also let me know. So far the highest I've measured is 1.6m hash per second using chrome on ubuntu on my best machine at home.

Finally, please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=611024.new#new for a competition for logo rebranding.

The WebMining demo currently requires Web Workers as it's a multithreaded version.

I'm going to work on a version which conditionally decides which features to use so we can begin testing on multiple devices.

For example the current version works on my desktops (500k-1.6m hps), laptops(250-600k hps), and android tablets (50-100k per second hps), but not my mobile or ps3 (no web worker support).

Please help test by opening the link and report if you get a great speed (500k+) slow speed (less than 100k), or it simply fails to load.

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=471166.msg6761708#msg6761708 for main chain mining setup details.

BIGGER UPDATE: Project WOLF Announced, Web Mining, New QT, Mining Begun, TX-fee removed

notes: mining has already started yesterday, poloniex is still to update their client but will shortly I'm sure, other nodes all updated.

Comments and feedback welcome, next up rebranding for Project WOLF.

Whoa! WOLF Dev coming back with some next level work here!

If I understand correctly it is in this direction of use the BlockChain will become the successor to/backbone of the world wide web, yes?

I think I only fully understand 1% of the possibilities this Project aims to illuminate and thats more than enough to make me increase my position so I can be apart of this happening in some way.

This is the decentralized carrier of info/micro transactions the Blackchain was made for. Imagine the content that will be created once the industries realize they can earn money actively as people view it. Artists will be able to display their work and be reciprocated for it with the hashing generated by the viewer.

Quote

Anybody can freely create or extend any aspect of any component within the system, from new transaction types and algorithms through to alternative clients and applications. Consider the Blockchain as a stream of data, where applications can listen for and react to the specific types of data they are concerned with.
^^ What the blockchain can do for the world.

This is an amazing update indeed. Great work, please continue forward Dev.
