I hope I can safely delete it...
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

That would only affect the "isolated node". A blockchain fork of litecoin would not affect the real main blockchain from what this sounds like.

As in the past a block chain fork the coins created would not be accepted (i.e. rejected) from the main blockchain.

Yes that is true. But a major attack to all the nodes would cause a major impact in Litecoin service providers.

Bitcoin is the future !

You might want to keep it because maybe just maybe it contains 33GB of your litecoin private key for your wallet. LOL

Some of the people on here are trolling. The database files contain the blockchain and everyone's transaction history, not your private keys (those are stored in your wallet.dat.) There might have been an error in the code that caused your client to re-download the blockchain over and over, thus causing the 33GB worth of data. In any case, it is safe to delete all of the log.xxxxxxxxxx files in that folder, Litecoin\blkindex.dat, and Litecoin\blk00xxxx.dat.

EDIT: Restart Litecoin-qt.exe, and the client will proceed to re-download the blockchain.

Of course trolling occasionally is fine for entertainment value, I just think LoWang is a bit confused right now.  Tongue

He says he intents to use the DDOS vulnerability in BTC on LTC chain !

IMHO if he attacks LTC then somebody should DDOS the crap out of Eligius pool ...

I understood when he attack the CLC scam but LTC is actually good chain. Not like SC or IXC or IOC crap ...

And I think you guys have no idea what to answer me so you rather laugh then worry about your lack of understanding Cheesy

The blockchain is NOT in these log.* files. It is in blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat. Why the heck would it be 33GB for me and 150MB for the other people? It is the same for everyone of course.
So I exited the client, deleted all the log.* and after relaunching it took about 5minutes to synchronize with a network, created just one new log file and then it worked normally again.
Unfortunatelly there seems to be a bug which causes these files to be created often (I have 17 of them just today - each has 100MB), so it seems I will have to periodically close the wallet and delete it Undecided
I guess it happens because of my mining setup and a lot of connections to litecoin network.

LTC mining is very profitable again.
HD 6950 will mine +400LTC/day which gives us 0.50BTC/day.
Thats very good.
