Hey AlecMe. Thanks for sharing your concern. First thing I'll do is remind you that per the statement we're releasing two updates in response to the recent event. Once we have both out we can get trading operational again, and work with the the various parties to get everything back on track. We're already in contact with most of these parties, so it shouldn't take a long time. Rest assured we're still fully committed to Veil.

As for whattomine I'll check with the team and see if we're already in contact with them. If not, I'll make sure we reach out.

UPDATE so whattomine is not currently listing Veil due to trade inactivity meaning they cannot properly source data. It should be restored along with everything else in the near future as mentioned above.

Sync was slow for me and then I decided to install the wallet on 2 computers so which computer syncs faster. Then I was surprised that wallets had different amounts. What are the consequences, what should I do (I first installed the wallet from the first picture)?

I would recommend having only 1 active wallet at a time. We've witnessed a discrepancy in wallet balances from cases where users have run 2 wallets (using the same seed words) simultaneously.

You can run these commands on your 1 active wallet:

rescanzerocoinwallet
rescanringctwallet
rescanblockchain

And then, restart your wallet.

If some balance is still not showing in your wallet properly, please contact our support team for further assistance.

The hacks were probably because of bsod and friends. same happened to sinovate project before. good luck to VEIL and god protect us from bad actors in the crypto.

It looks like there was a bug with 10000 denomination and that's the main issues.
The developer is only saying if we must not use that domination again but im not sure about it still can't use it right now in the new client of the veil wallet.

Updated to the newest 1.0.4.1 version and after that the sync had stuck with no progress for more than 2 days. All time the new peers had being seen, they connected and after a  few second have got  disconnected status. After two days of my  fighting with wallet I have downloaded the fresh snapshot and replaced  the old Veil's data as recommended on official site.  And my wallet came back to synch!

Trading and OTC will not resume until the network is assessed for stability.

There is a new v1.0.4.5 Veil wallet release with stability improvements. It is recommended for everyone to update but it is not mandatory.
