THE 2020 BSOP BEGINS IN 4 DAYS! BSOP LEADERBOARD ANNOUNCED Finish in the money of any BSOP numbered events to earn BSOP Leaderboard points.
In addition to the 1st prize of 25,000 chips and a BIG BTC ticket, the top finisher will also win an exclusive 2020 BSOP Leaderboard Champion avatar! All of this is pretty cool. If you guys can, for next time, can you add a higher stakes (10k/25k/50k) events non guaranteed that run at the same time?
Thank you for the feedback. Higher stakes events are a possibility for the next series if there is demand for them. If there are certain games you'd like to see please let us know. Regarding the new chat rules.
Is there any way that SWC would consider implementing a small fee membership that allows users to chat at the table. It would just be a rank that is bought rather than earned through krill, similar to the copper membership here on the forum. It would be useless to chat trolls as it's only for table chat and not the main chat, but would be nice for games like the Forum series or other club games.
Just a thought.
Summer series looks sick, hopefully I can match some events with my schedule.
This is an interesting idea, thank you. We believe the current situation will only be needed temporarily during this transition period. The ability for new accounts to chat at tables while they are in a game is something that may be added in the future.

Really not a fan of the 500 krill chat requirement; why not put a chat filter instead? There are plenty of websites that provide extensive lists of common spam/comment/chat phrases for free. Paying for chat privileges is an nice idea, but not a good solution at all IMO. Chat/Trollboxes have become common features at most crypto gambling sites. Asking users to pay for the ability to communicate with each other is like charging restaurant patrons for tap water. I believe you are letting the actions of a few bad apples ruin the fun for everyone else. After all, the only thing that online poker lacks in comparison to live poker is the lack of social interactions. At the very least, SwC should allow the "/action" chat function to work. I'm typing this while sitting at four empty tables with no way of telling other players I'm ready to donk off my stacks to them. This isn't fun.

Chat filters? What a new and innovative idea! I don't think SWC can handle that.

Chat filters? What a new and innovative idea! I don't think SWC can handle that. lol. they implemented new chat rules instead---no abusing other players, no racial/sexual slurs etc. the moderator will mute you for the first 2 violations and perma ban you the third time. you'd think this would mean removing the 500 krill requirement, but no. it's a bitch to quickly earn that much krill playing tournaments. and i'm not grinding cash games just to pay for the privilege of chatting at a table i'm sitting. frankly i'd rather just go back to ACR Poker.

THE BITCOIN SERIES OF POKER BEGINS IN 2 DAYS! Newbie question: Isn't it safer to use https instead of http on these links? The links posted on the website use https, but you are correct that those few in the OP appear to have been missed. PM us your SwC username and we'll shoot you a 500 ticket for the BSOP. Really not a fan of the 500 krill chat requirement; why not put a chat filter instead? There are plenty of websites that provide extensive lists of common spam/comment/chat phrases for free. I'm typing this while sitting at four empty tables with no way of telling other players I'm ready to donk off my stacks to them. This isn't fun. A filter may be added to chat, but this alone would not have solved the issue. There had become a small group of toxic users that made it their mission to disrupt the chat box in different ways. The rules were clarified and penalties for violating them were posted on the website. These players were given an opportunity to adapt. Some chose not to and this required us to remove them. As mentioned, we believe the increased krill requirement will only need to be a temporary measure. We want SwC to be a place where all players have the opportunity to have fun playing Bitcoin poker and chatting together, including new users. We thank the vast majority of players that have been great during this period and have helped us on the path to that goal.

^ There is also some facebook zynga type of stuff that we learned from them that shows people like to show off, they like to spend money like it is not a big deal, and they like to flex on their rake as well in krill form. So, what you could implement to make this place better is "gifts", such as tea, diamond, cake, whatever silly thing, it wouldn't be a real thing, it would be just fake and silly picture but when one player send it to another it is a gift that just means something, plus if you could buy stuff to yourself with your krill to increase your look or whatever and just like stand out, that means they can flex on their level as well.
These type of people that put human interaction into play could mean a lot more business with the current userbase do not need to grow for profits to grow, it could grow profits with the current base.

I can get behind this idea. Allowing players to flex by customizing their avatar and namebox would be very cool. I remember similar features existed on the old Lock Poker (defunct, was a ponzi scheme) and possibly Full Tilt Poker (also defunct, also a ponzi scheme). Players could also have small trophies beside their username for various accomplishments: BBJ winner, Big BTC winner, Krill LB winner, Twitch Bounties, etc. etc.
