Is anyone interested in giving me some parameter template training? Or know where I could find more information? My current templates always leave me with a bunch of coins when the market drops.

Did you check WHY that happened? I give you a hint: left side you see all about your coins (How many you have of A and B, ....). Next to it you see what the exchange requires: minimum amount of coins, how many digits and how much the order must be at least.

Remember my saying, you can only trade what's in the order book. If you WANT to sell 123 coins, but there is only a buyer for 122,99995, then that's the max you can sell. You will be left with "dust", which is now not tradeable anymore. I keep the dust though. Its nothing worth already, but should at a later time I trade with that coin again, it will be added to the trading pool.

Its not a mistake in the template, but in the selection of the coin. Choose a coin with more trades, more trade volume and still has a high spread.

Also, thanks Ronald. You're always first to help on here.

But in the end, the coin I'm trading I'm ~8 ahead... so... ok !

I don't pretend to look or care too much for the math of fees because if I lost BTC, then you tell me how I'm ahead on the coin I'm trading with ?

That last row of figures is an accumulative gain btw !

Edit: Although in fairness... i did lose some logs but from where I started I'm still ahead.

So... The preferred buying strategy is that the transaction volume is large, and the number of coins traded is the minimum specified?

WARNING

Do not trade or put any money to an exchange where you are not verified.

CEX.IO refuses to verify me, because for whatever reason, they don't verify my AUSTRIAN passport and want instead a NATIONAL drivers license, in ENGLISH.
I live in Taiwan, the national drivers license is in CHINESE. Also the name is in Chinese, and my birth day is according to the time (year) of Taiwan.

Hey Sampey, how likely would it be to add an option that lets the Market Explorer refresh every X lookups, "0" to otherwise leave disabled ?

I've found keeping a browser open on my simplistic setup eats up a considerable amount of RAM and feel such an option would be worth while. Maybe not just for me, but leaving it as an option people can enable or disable shouldn't add any real harm or take away anything from CAT.

sounds initially good, but then you might want to have an actual balance as well, and, and, and soon you would be reaching your API call limits and your IP might be blocked by the exchange... I think, if you want to watch a "tv" channel, then stay in front of it. To click refresh isn't that hard. Of course you could just open a web browser and look at the page without API

My setup is tied to the TV so I can switch over as needed. I also never said I would have it refresh every 15 seconds like I run my API's from the standard 40. That being said. Having an option if someone wants to be stupid is on them but for me I might say refresh ever 120 calls which is every half hr.

The idea is sound but it comes down to a persons control. Like McDonalds getting rid of XL stuff because people were bitching about getting too fat when it's their own fault for shoving their face full of shit like it would be their fault for setting it to call every call.

I had a dream:

There was a subdirectory in C.A.T, lets call it "External" within an exchange directory.

If you put an xml file into that directory with the content of:
coin_market
start_time
coin_amount
start_trade_type
parameter_template
...

and name that file exchange_coin_market, e.g.   Yobit_FTO_ETH

C.A.T. would frequently check if such file exists and add these info as new ping into the system.

Imagine there would be a Telegram channel, that provides such files to download, both the ping start file and the parameter template. You just need to adjust amount as your budget allows, ....

.....

It is just a dream, yet, but SAMPEY, can you make that dream come true?

Sampey, there are many people in my area who would like to have a Chinese version, and some of my friends needs German version.

Currently I am working with a group of Chinese who are eager to promote C.A.T., but in traditional and simplified Chinese. Remember, 1/3 of worlds populations speaks CHINESE!!!
Rich players are in China, ....

Is it on your plan to use LANGUAGE files to switch C.A.T. to a different language?

I don't see why a new version of CAT couldn't pull text from a database; that way adding support for new languages is as simple as selecting the appropriate language database. I'm sure the community would make these files anyway.

you're not a programmer right?  Cheesy Cheesy

that "simple" things will takes tons of hours because all messages, table column names and many other things are not written inside a file, but directly inside the code. That's pretty obvious if you're not planning a multi-language system.
Because (my error of course), i think that english is simple and a minimum requisite to deal with the cryptocurrency world.

but i will think a way to code all the english text outside CAT code. If that will happens i will release a version only for the language package. Maybe a 5.3

Technically it's not a problem, but i should think about that......

Language support is often tricky if a variable is included. In some languages, the text is put before the variable, in some its after, and yet another time it might be between two text parts.

The language text is not the only problem, sometimes the length can be challenging too.

Maybe its easier to add tooltip which can be switched to different languages. Then in the second round change the text with the rooftop text...

another problem will be that i won't be able to give any support over logs in languages different than English.

So how does the post to URL thing work and what kind of data does / can it pass along ?

every time a ding-ding happens, C.A.T. sends this line of data as a JSON formatted string to the URL you have setup.

"this line" ? lol

lil more info please... I guess what I'm asking but didnt ask lol

Does it effectively pass along "log" info like what's seen on the log tab which is lost exit / startups even though just about all else is back if you load an XML template. Ideally I would like long term tracking and am curious if the post to URL could effectively build it into an excel sheet online some how with all that same info like timestamp, start / end price, accumulative gain etc. etc. etc.

No, it just spits out the line from the gain tab, in that order.

well if it already spits out that line from the gain tab. Then I would imagine it shouldn't be hard to set something up to log it and collectively add it up the way it does on the gain tab with the accumulative totals Etc.
