The strickers were just brilliant with the ball specially Siddle,he takes 5 wicket. Hurricanes are 20-30 runs short i think so.
Strickers need 147 to win in 20 overs.Only early wickets can change this match otherwise would be a easy chase for Strickers.

Adelaide Strikers have already lost 2 wickets. They lost 2 wickets in 4 overs and scored 24 runs. Both teams now have an equal chance of winning the match. If the Adelaide Strikers don't lose wickets in the next 6-7 overs then I think they will win today's match.

@Visnu.Reang indeed it was an very interesting match, and yea in T20 age doesn’t matter, but it’s all about one’s mentality and Siddle showed us today that he yet has that winning mentality, which helped him pick 5 wickets in today’s game. Furthermore Hobart Hurricanes need to introspect as to what went wrong, and then work hard on rectifying their mistakes.

BTW, I want to go slightly off-topic. Don't you guys think that including two teams from across the Tasman Sea can make BBL more interesting? Let them have two franchises from Auckland and Christchurch. It will increase the overall viewership and give the Kiwis a taste of high-voltage franchise T20 cricket. But logistics can be a concern. Australia itself is huge.. and now we are talking about AUS+NZ.

I am not a cricket fan myself. I partially understand the rules of the game. The disadvantage of some games is that it can only take so long.

Shoaib Malik did played well for his 46 and got good support from De Silva and Thisara just played some magnificent shots in the end and made 39 not out in just 14 balls which actually changed the momentum of the game and helped Jaffna Stallions to reach 188/6 and will be a competitive score to chase.

Advantage for Jaffna Stallions as of now. Galle Gladiators have lost five wickets and they still need another 113 runs from 10.1 overs. Shoaib Malik is bowling really well, and he is getting good support from Usman Shinwari and Suranga Lakmal. BTW, it would have been better for the JS to include Vijayakanth Viyaskanth in the playing XI, as it would have sent a strong message to ethnic unity.

I did not watch the match but heard that Shoaib Malik was the key in the match and he batted and bowled very well.
Strange that when Shoaib plays for the national team, his performance is mostly poor but he always shows better performance in leagues.

The idea is good, but arranging the transportation and logistics can be very challenging. For example, Perth is located some 5,000 km away from Christchurch. Do you expect the players to travel all this distance several times a week? One option would be to stage a few initial rounds in New Zealand, and the remaining matches in Australia. But then, how many New Zealanders would purchase tickets to watch Hobart Hurricanes taking on Adelaide Strikers? Or how many Australians would do the same for a match between Auckland and Christchurch? The gate collections may get affected.

I don't think so. Maybe this things will be interesting, but the fields will not get much spectetors. We will not watch our favorite teams matches, going to another country. Why would we waste so much money? For example, NBA consists of 30 teams, but they are divided in to two "conferences", which are further divided in to three divisions each. This ensures that most of the matches are played between teams which are close from each other.

When Jagmohan Dalmiya was the ICC president, he took a number of steps to help associate nations. His efforts were very successful, as teams such as Kenya, Ireland and Afghanistan made a lot of progress and came close to becoming full member nations. But then he was ousted and the combination of Sharad Pawar/N Srinivasan took charge (as the ICC and BCCI presidents respectively). Their term pushed cricket back by at least two decades. All the progress that was achieved during the Dalmiya era was destroyed. Not just the associate nations, but even some of the test playing nations such as Zimbabwe sank without any trace.

And it was during this period that a new law was introduced, which enabled teams such as UAE and Oman to field teams entirely (100%) comprised of foreigners. As a result teams that had native players (such as Kenya, Netherlands, PNG, Namibia.etc) became unable to compete and in turn lost their ICC funding. Some of the teams such as the Netherlands managed to survive, as they had other avenues for funds. But teams such as Kenya got destroyed completely. As long as this law is not repealed, I don't think that cricket can be spread outside the big-3.

Now the ICC claims that cricket is being played in 100 plus nations. But in most of these nations, you can't find a single native player in the playing XI. Most of the teams are entirely made of Indians and Pakistanis.
