Smiley We need proofs .. to make things clear - proofs will never come (or not probably soon) - what is sad.

Not one part of the plane is found yet. Oceans has full garbage floating that could look a like parts from above.

what else you can expect from them..! I still don't understood the job of media.. ? is it to create more ambiguity or to clear all the ambiguity surrounding it.? but with the competition around what else we can expect from most of the media houses ...!

It amazes me that Hollywood would have us believe military satellites can read your morning newspaper from ten miles away. Obviously untrue. But I don't understand how they can't get ANYthing? Just on the simplest most basic level, there were 250 people with cell phones, and I'm sure they had onboard wifi, they can't use the telcom satellites to triangulate the last ping...? Or is there some reason that would not be feasible...?

It's not that untrue really, while they can't read your morning newspaper, current military satellites can see a person holding a news paper, the thing is, considering that those satellites are moving at 26000Km/h it obviously they are not made to track stuff, but more to snap picture of an area each orbit (there are also geostationary satellites but those has an orbit much much higher and thus the image is not as precise) another reason why you don't see military satellites images is that because not a single country wants to show it capabilities and position of their satellite

They can do that if the location is known. The oceans is so vast and there is not enough satellite to scan it.

Its only a slight exaggeration, while you will never be able to read the newspaper, it is possible to recognize a newpaper but that also requires perfect atmospheric conditions, something you almost never have over an ocean.

People also fail to grasp just how big the search area is. Something like 8 million square kilometers. Enough to fit 8,000,000,000,000 newspapers and you are looking for partially submerged debris (possibly not much bigger than a newspaper) hidden in waves. To say thats monumental is an understatement.

Cell phones dont connect to satellites, nor does wifi. The antenna's and frequency simply dont work at that range and crossing the ionosphere, even if there is something that tries to register it. If the plane had some satellite data connection for onboard internet or telephone, then Im assuming it was shut down along with acars, transponder and all other comms.

Exactly, although for the atmosphere they use adaptive optics to reduce the interference, maybe you meant weather Smiley

Phones do connect to satellites, not for communication tho but for gps and other similar services (unless we are speaking about a satellite phones which use satellite as a mean of communication and by pass ground network) but the gps network deals with billions of devices and I believe it is not built to pin point or track people the other way around, also the phones are probably dead either battery drainage or just being under water Smiley

The search area is enormous. It is extremely ridiculous, which is why they haven't really found anything. The plane could also simply not have been there.

And what do you think "weather" is ? Let me help by quoting wiki: "Weather is the state of the atmosphere".

GPS is a receiver. There is no communication in the other direction whatsoever, its a passive device, just like an FM radio.

Yeah, they're not really sure where it went after they lost contact so it seems they're looking in the wrong places. Needle in a haystack scenario.

Indeed, and when they think they do they're still looking in the wrong place. I'm also getting a little bit tired of BREAKING NEWS: THE DEBRIS THAT WE SPOTTED ISN'T FROM THE PLANE etc. How is that breaking news?

I dont understand how in this day and age a Boeing 777 can drop out of the sky and leave no clues as to where it is.

I see a bunch of speculation from the news agencies regarding the Iranian passengers who used stolen passports to board the plane bla bla bla.

I wonder if its possible that the plane was hijacked, and then was flown low enough as to not appear on radar and landed in some hatred filled country. Like North Korea for example.

Is this possible?

Anyone here have any ideas on what might have happened here. I fly a lot and its beyond me that this can happen.

Ask the government, they know! They lie and cover up..
Do i need a proxy to make this post? I worry the feds will be Waterboarding me if i don't use proxy or shut the f** up just like they doing to the Chinese passengers right now..

I didn't say jack, so you didn't hear jack!

Plane sinks at sea. How many times has it happened in world history?

Fake passports? I reckon there are several flights conducted every day on a world basis where at least one passenger has a fake passport.

No-fly lists are ineffective, those resourceful enough to be a major treat are also able to create fake identities.

Fake and stolen passports are a massive problem and not that uncommon. Most are just used by illegal immigrants etc though, not terrorists. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/09/stolen-passports-malaysia-flight/6230767/
