Spain to confirm its offensive awakening after finally showed their potential in their dominant 5-0 win over Slovakia in their last group game against the less then balanced Croatia as they haven't quite looked like the team that reached the 2018 World Cup Final.
France is the most prominent candidate for the title in my opinion, despite its modest levels compared to its tools against Switzerland, which watched the Czech Republic win the collective..
My predictions Spain will qualify alongside France.

Spain really did look like they'd woken up, and showing some true form. Croatia aren't really a match for them, particularly with Perisic missing.
Some of the other teams that did well in the groups have struggled in the first knockout round, but with Spain I think it will be different. They look like they're coming into form now, and I think they will brush Croatia aside, and win by a couple of goals.

Well, this is football and in football, anything can happen. Like most of us would have tot6written Czech Republic off against  the Netherlands yesterday but to our disbelief, they went about doing the unthinkable by winning the Netherlands to a 2-0. In the fixture Croatia vs Spain, no doubt Spain is the better or best team here but, we've seen best teams mess up quite often. Spain is good for that, they seem to get over confidence at times and it becomes there downfall otherwise, they would have been a final contenders on the titles very often. Spain 5-0 Slovakia win is a proof of what they can do if they are serious but that's if they are serious and they should be this time. Its the round of 16 and could be regretful of any misguided step.

I'm surprised you don't think Croatia is a good team! Have you seen Croatia's squad? Croatia is a good enough team. And winning against them will not be easy for Spain. The Spanish team has played great against Slovakia, I don't see any reason to think that they will do the same against Croatia because the Spanish team is still inexperienced. My guess is the match will be a draw.

Both Croatia and Spain had to wait until the last day of the group phase to be sure of continuing their adventure at Euro 2020.The two teams arrived at the round of 16 without fireworks. The fear of going home early was about to take over. The Spanish avoided a painful failure, in the midst of a not easy reconstruction. For the Balkan selection, only a disappointment that would have certified the end of a cycle.
It is going to be a great and exciting match IMO. I am betting on Spain winning with both teams to score at least once.

My guess is the match will be a draw.

I see the same thing, both teams are equally strong.  I even saw if one of them won it was just luck.  Spain and Croatia is a match that I really look forward to, especially in it there is a Modric wound.  I hope they both look epic this week.  However, it is very unfortunate that the Croatian team lost Ivan Perisic to Covid, even though he is one of the leading teams.  I hope Croatia doesn't repeat the previous Europa League.

After what happened yesterday, its kinda hard to be optimistic about the result for Croatia vs Spain. Netherlands was clearly a heavy favourites yesterday and yet it was Czech Republic won yesterday. Some people might argue it was because of the red card but we are comparing Netherlands and Czech Republic, the differences are huge so Netherlands could probably have defended well atleast until extra time or penalty shootout

Given of what had happened to Netherlands yesterday, I doubt that Spain would underestimate Croatia though so Spain might pull it off

+700 in Sportsbet looks very attractive for Croatia, I need to admit. Yesterday, we had a big upset when Czechia defeated the Netherlands (although they were helped immensely by the red card to de Ligt). What if we have another upset today? The match will start in around 15 minutes from now, and I haven't yet decided whether I should place a bet or not. But I would say, even +600 looks attractive for Croatia, given the fact that the Spanish side is very inexperienced. If this was the same Croatia team of the 2006 or 2010, then I would have placed the bet without any second thought.

Since these are one match elimination cup games I wouldn't bet on any handicaps. 1 goal difference would be enough to advance to next round so teams play more cautious. France can score multiple goals and betting odd is tempting but still it's not my type of play in major national tournaments. France couldn't do any handicap win in group stage, their only win against Germany came with a single goal.

Spain has selected a young and relatively inexperienced team this time. And they didn't even managed to top Group E (Spain was placed second with 5 points, while Sweden finished with 7 points). But one positive for the Spanish team is that they conceded just one goal during the preliminary phase (and that was against Poland). Croatia is not looking that good, as they are overdependent on a few players. Their only big win came against Scotland (3-1). And I checked the odds.. the odds for Croatia is around +600. Not that attractive, I would say.

It is obvious that Spain will win, it is not going to be that much of a challenge. However lets realize that nobody expected Netherlands to lose neither but they did, so that means these type of things do not happen because it is bound to happen, it is just a risk every team takes with elimination games, just one game and you are gone. This is why I think it is not going ot be that tough to actually end up with something incredibly shocking, you can get it right away.

I personally believe Spain will win, and I wagered on it, but would I be shocked if Crotia wins? I will not be shocked at all, I totally expect both teams to give %100 on the field today and the one that plays the best at that moment will win, doesn't matter which teams is the best team because for just 90 minutes you could become the best team on the field even if you normally do not look like it in paper.

That is a good guess as i did not expect Croatia to score a goal and the tradition of own goals in this Euro cup keeps coming with another own goal and with the way the Croatian defense is struggling inside the box i am expecting more goals in the second half and i will be surprised if Croatia scores a goal of their own unless there is another terrible mess up like they did with the first goal.
