dammit! my bet was a total disaster. Only 1 corner in the game, even though there were 20+ total shots not gonna bet on corners again :-P

who do you guys think it's gonna advance to quarter-finals? my predictions in bold:

Belgium - Portugal
Italy - Austria
France - Switzerland
Croatia - Spain
Sweden - Ukraine
England - Germany
Netherlands - Czech Republic
Wales - Denmark

I changed:
Portugal wins Belgium, in the well-fought game.
England win Germany - Germany has good players but is not working as a team. The only game that went well for them was against Portugal, and maybe because Portugal didn't apply the pressure they should.

Germany was really on the thin line between first and last place, they managed to get a draw and advanced as second, honestly I didn't expect Hungary to show this performance but they surprised everybody. They showed previous games were not finished by luck. Being in death group was their curse though people will remember Hungary as one of the fighting teams in Euro 2020. Now Germany have to face off England which looks early for them, it will be a great clash as both teams are hidden favorites in the tournament.

What an insane performance from Spain! They started the tournament really bad but they put an end to their bad luck. And it was a great way to do it.    They just demolished Slovakia 5-0. And Spain are going to promote to the playoffs directly thanks to this result.

Spain started the match really bad as well, missed a penalty and the goalie Dubravka was confident after saving the penalty but he messed up when he was not able to catch the ball which went high after hitting the cross bar and it landed as a goal and it was a mistake that changed the match and then Spain started to attack further and won by a whopping margin.

The specialty of this Euro is that we are seeing self goals in almost all of the matches  .

Yeah, we've seen so many own goals in this tournament so far. And it's really interesting to me. 

Spain really needed this win. Now their opponent in the 1/8-finals is Croatia. I think that it won't be an easy draw for Spain surely. But still, I think that Spain have regained their self-confidence and they can eliminate Croatia.

The plan from Southgate fails, if he actually planned something, and it will be a very big and unpredictable match. 50-50 chance for England and Germany. Germany are not in the best time but they are not weaker than England from what they both shown in first three matches.

I expected them to win even it will be getting hard against Hungary , but i havnt expected that it will be this crazy match.
So i am glad with draw they played and also the draw that France did against Portugal.
And now the next match about England is already a final and hope they playing in this match better again as they have done today.

Hungary deserves the great salute in the group of death, since everyone considered it just a station. Portugal exhausted the last minutes and drew with France and Germany with a performance that exceeded all expectations and confirmed that there are teams worth waiting to be judged.

Germany is a beautiful team with a high tactical thought, but weak in character and staggering, and this is what we have not seen in Germany for years.

France and De Champs and a lot of tactical problems are linked to poor football despite the quality of the elements. That is why I hate false victories linked only to the result and which come without the slightest Persuasion and Deschamps made and inflated these deceptive results.

Portugal true that they are rich witch star-studded team, is no longer that weak version of the 2016 players. This group does not deserve to stagnate defensively and play as a team without a ball throughout the game and that is Santos' cliched idea.

Hungary really deserves a lot better than elimination at the group stage, they stood up well against both Germany and France, A group where everyone them wrote them off initially but they really should be proud of themselves.

Germany probably under estimated the Hungarian team and were stunned, I guessed they would have been better prepared if it were to be a supposed "stronger" opponent, I would still tip Germany to eliminate England in the next round though.

Hungarian were a big surprise with their oustanding performance in that group   soccer pundits and analyst wouldn't give the  Hungarian side any chance of advancing after losing 3-0 to Portugal in their first match, however they defies all odd and came out with a solid performance by playing a two draws with France a world cup champion
and Germany althoughh they are unable to qualify for the next round but deserve a rousing ovation when they get back to their country.

Portugal vs France match live up to it's billing, it was an entertaining match, however the penalty awarded to France when Mbappe dived was too soft and questionable awful decision by the referee above all looking ahead to the next round of matches especially Germany vs England and Belgium vs Portugal.

It was unlucky for Hungary, as they held lead for most of the time. They were ahead by 1-0 from the 11th minute, until the 66th minute when Kai Havertz equalized. Hungary scored the second goal after just 2 minutes (Andras Schafer), and held on to 2-1 lead until the end of 84th minute when Goretzka equalized again for Germany. So in short Hungary was in the lead for almost 70 minutes out of total 90 minutes. And this is despite Germany having almost 76% possession (highest for any group match so far?).

But in football there is always something different than expected and the draw in Germany vs Hungary is proof that anything can happen. But fortunately Germany managed to qualify for the round of 16 after Goretzka scored and made it a draw. At least your defeat can still be redeemed because Germany will still play in the last 16, you can try again there.

The quarter final lineup looks fiery!

We have Belgium vs Portugal on 27th June. Although Belgium may be the clear favorites, it is going to be no cakewalk for them. Another interesting match is going to be England vs Germany. In this case, it is difficult to predict who has the upper hand. Going by the recent form, I would say that England are the favorites. Germany's performance against Hungary was not up to the mark. Also, they lost the match against France.

That's obvious, I also chosen Germany to win the game but I wish I did more homework. However, Germany secure their spots in the next round despite the draw vs Hungary. This German teams I don't know what is wrong with them a lot of good players yet tracked down its hard to dominate matches. But, what a spectacular performance by the Hungarian, hopefully they come back stronger next time.

Germany is not weaker than England, but England has a more solid structure.
I think England will eventually win this match.

Best of all, none are meeting each other, so I could be lucky and see all of them progress to the final 8, not sure how the draws will happen so will check to see if I could even have all four in the semis, which is best-case scenario for me, then I will win at least 4x my equal outlay =D

I think Finland could advance in case of a large defeat of Portugal (+3 goals) + Germany winning (they are 1 goal behind BTW).

Very interesting eighth-final pairings, the last matchday in the group stage has brought some surprises.

In the first 4 matches in the round of 16, I expect the following results after 90 minutes.  I was most surprised that Germany did not win.

Belgium - Portugal = Draw
Italy - Austria = Italy maybe draw
Netherlands - Czech Republic = Netherlands
Wales - Denmark = Wales

Winners in my choice are: Belgium, Italy, Netherlands and Denmark.

I don't think Austria will be able to have a draw with Italy. The choice between Belgium and Portugal is hard but Belgium are stronger. Netherlands will dominate the match with Czech. Wales look to have better players but I think they will fail against Denmark because Wales did not show their best and Denmark have big win in the final day in their group. They might keep up their good form and win against Wales.

Now that group stage is over it's clear that among the top teams only Italy, Netherlands and Belgium performed greatly. France, Germany, Portugal, England and Spain struggled a lot. History tells that from now on everything changes, every game is a final on its own. And even the teams that struggled can make it to the cup.

My regards goes out to this Hungary Team, They weren’t given a chance in this group of death against Germany, Portugal and France.
They got two points and were in actual winning positions more than any other team in the group  (92 minutes) across 3 Games.
Much respect for Hungary.... nobody could expect them to scored two goals against Germany or scored against France.

Yes, they were so close to actually finishing in second place in the group... the final table is harsh on them, with them sitting in last place. They so nearly qualified... and really I think they were expected to get zero points and lose every game. So so close to beating Germany.
