I do not think belgium and england wins were a surprised first of all belgium is the number one team in the fifa ranking wich means that they are strong they have good quality players and we all seen germany performance in this euro thats why i did not think they would go far in this championship.

I agree. Only the wins by Czechia and Switzerland can be considered as upset wins. Portugal was one of the tournament favorites. But their current team is more like a one man army led by Ronaldo. And England and Germany are more like equals, with recent performance giving an edge to England. Germany is the same team which suffered a humiliating defeat against North Macedonia a few months ago. And let's also not forget the fact that the match took place at the Wembley Stadium, which gave a massive advantage to England.

This Germany is no longer as strong as it was a few years ago. This is at the end of a cycle. And only Portugal won, because Portugal didn't go into the game with the right attitude.

For me it was no surprise!
This Germany is no longer as strong as it was a few years ago. This is at the end of a cycle. And only Portugal won, because Portugal didn't go into the game with the right attitude.

I agree with you, this is not a surprise... but I have to be honest and say that I expected more from Germany, they had to try harder and at least one goal.. I didn't see some effort and probably that's why they were not able to do anything!

Well, in 5 minutes we will watch Sweeden vs Ukraine! I have a few bets already, the first half draw and under 2.5, also in the first half! We will see how the game will start and I will add some more bets probably...

It's still sinking in for me. I can't believe we actually beat Germany in a tournament, first time since 1966. Even at 2-0 up with 90 minutes gone, I thought Germany would sneak two late goals to take it to extra time.
Just hope England don't get ahead of themselves now, and that Southgate can keep them grounded so they're in a good state of mind for Saturday's next round match.

But that's all for the future, now, for me, is for celebrating

Germany - England - what a classic. Like Gary Lineker said ''Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.'' Though, I see that England a bit favoured by bookmakers, but I don't know why. In group stage England haven't showed anything special and I don't see reasons to hype them. Yes, Germany were unstable, but game with Portugal showed wha they can.
Sweden - Ukraine. It something incredible that Ukraine who qualified from 3rd place got their own level opponents, while Austria from 2nd place had to play against Italy. I'm backing Ukraine in this game.

The pressure on Harry Kane not scoring since the beginning of the competition will reduce now  after scoring his first goal  of the tournament thank to Southgate for keeping faith in him. This year's 16 euro match really surprised big teams with the appearance of non-seeded teams, after the Netherlands and Portugal were victims, now France really feels the hard struggle of a team that is not at all superior, I think this can be a lesson for other big teams so as not to underestimate the team that is below their level.

You are right, football has developed rapidly. Europe's leading countries do not guarantee to look great. Portugal and France make me sad, I bet they can make it to the last eight. Loved the England game today.Finally England is playing like it is supposed to from many years.I think they were extremely pragmatic and strange enough for me their defense is doing quite well in this Euro 2020.Well it looks like they will win their upcoming game if they are going to play against Sweden or Ukraine.They will be in semi final this time and hopefully they will do well.It is becoming interesting now the Euro 2020 with many strong teams qualifying like Spain,Italy,Belgium,and England.

Back to Sweden match, still 1-1 but there was a horrible injury and a (VAR) red card for Danielsson (Sweden) which was really deserved!

Many may feel disappointed for Mbappe, which was true given his performances throughout the Euros. However, to say that France's defeat was Mbappe's fault is completely wrong.  Although Mbappe had a bad performance, he did a lot of things, most of which was attracting the attention of the opposing defence. In general, France lost because they did not make good use of their opportunities, they had the advantage, but they lost it, they were too subjective. Also to the Swiss, they did a great job, especially the last 10 minutes of the match, when they gave everything they had, they did a miracle, really great, I respect them!

Two quality teams, but both very unstable. But I believe England have a slight advantage to win the game.

A game that can even have goals from both teams, but the victory should be Ukraine.

I got my predictions right for today's games!

Sweden - Ukraine, maybe it wasn't most exciting game, compared with what we saw yesterday, but it was also very interesting.
It was more or less game of same level teams. But red card probably was biggest factor - that foul was brutal. Though, even with one man advantage, Ukraine haven't managed to create much, Sweden defense was great. Butthey managed to score.

At the moment in the championship we see the collapse of many favorites and to be honest, it makes me happy, today I will root for Ukraine, although I also really like the Swedish national team.

The match is finally over and I can congratulate the Ukrainian team on reaching the quarterfinals!
Surprisingly, in the last three matches I was rooting for the underlogs and they all won by sending home the obvious favorites of the tournament  
Then one of the favorites will be destroyed in the Belgium - Italy match and I will hope that the Swiss will be able to knock out Spain

Always been. At the World Cup, the average level of the teams is too low and this greatly lowers the intensity of the tournament.

Germany lost against England. It was to be expected. Germany had not played well in the 3 group matches. Even against Portugal they did not score the first 3 goals themselves.
It's a pity that it ended like this for Joachim Löw. But it was his decision to play this last tournament. Perhaps the pressure to win was too big.
