Since the beginning before the tournament even started I even considered Italy will reach the final, and so far Italy is still very convincing and only against Austria have I disappointed.

Yes. After eliminating Belgium, Italy is now two games away from glory at Euro 2020.
Until the start of this tournament, I didn't think much of Italy but starting from the very first day, Italy proved that they are ready to win the tournament. With 13 wins in a row, they are now unbeaten in 32 matches. Unfortunately, left-back Spinazzola, who has been one of the best players during the tournament, was injured, and reportedly, he'll be out for many months.

Again, I am probably being biased because I am Italian but so far it is absolutely clear that Italy and Belgium were the best two teams of Euro 2020. Now Italy won this difficult match and goes to Wembley for the semifinal against Spain.
Every game after the group stage is like final and with Spain is going to be very difficult but Italy has showed Europe that they are a great candidate to win a cup.
Curious to see what England does tonight.

I watched the whole match. Mbappe has taken many wrong shots in the match. Which were far from the goalposts. He could have passed to any other player. However, if he had been able to score from those shots, we would all be applauding him now, but players have to be careful when playing against strong teams. Missing any chance increases the chances of losing the match.

That's always the case in any game, and for any top striker, you always have to decide what to do, and if you keep missing, people pay attention. I still think a striker has to be selfish and take his chances, especially when you do have the talents and ability like he does. I know Benzema complains about him not passing but we've seen that's not true either. Anyway:) The game is over and Mbappe will still be a great player:) What do you think of Morata? Is he also right to be blamed for missing a lot?

I do not understand how they calculated any of this. Giving Denmark a better possibility then Italy? I mean I suppose that is because Denmark will be playing against Czech Republic which is an easier opponent compared to Italy playing Belgium which will be one of the hardest matchups for them. However I would still say that the team that has been unbeaten for how many games now (close to 30 games right?) should have a higher percentage for sure.

Plus Spain faces an easy opponent as well so I get it, but I believe England is playing an easier opponent as well and Spain hasn't been really that great, I know they have come thus far but they haven't played like they used to and I believe England has a better chance. It is football anyway, they just gave some numbers that are totally made up and "according to them" thing, so there is nothing wrong with it.

It's statistics, and looking at their biggest flaws as I mentioned earlier, in general, teams do tend to average out or get closer to the mean, in terms of stats like Expected Goals scored and conceded. Belgium have been really overachieving (4 times their xG) and it finally gave out last night, with only a penalty to their name.

And yes, it was Italy vs Belgium (FIFA 1st ranked) and Denmark vs Czech, so this was a chance to progress more than a chance to WIN.

I was hoping for Belgium to win, but Italy won, the match was good and I think that if Belgium opened the scoring they had every chance to win.
Now we are waiting for an excellent semi-final Italy - Spain, at the moment Italy looks like the favorite in this confrontation. Hopefully we'll see a lot of goals here.

Yes that would have been a great result for a kind of dream team from Belgium
even though they are ranked #1 in the world they never won a major tournament
apart from an Olympic title, that is a record of sorts!

Wow, I didn't know about that. In fact, I do not follow this rating as it correlates very weakly with reality, but this is a rather funny fact.

It wasn't just about them scoring to me, in fact, them conceiving a first goal should have been enough wake up call for the Belgium team to game out and play, especially in the first half of the game. It was as though the Belgium players were scared, probably with the absences of Eden Hazard from the game and as such, they forgot a the other quality players they've got and went for a more defensive strategy kind of football.  They forgot being under constant pressure simply means, you might be injured. Too bad it took them 2 goals, 2 properly placed goals to wake them up. They were lucky to have earned that penalty and scored else, it could have been 2 goals to nothing  with that sort of defense from the Italians.

As we have already seen in this championship, a two-goal handicap does not guarantee anything even against weaker opponents. And the Belgian team was close to recouping, but on this day Italy was stronger. Unfortunately, the playoff stage means that even if there are several great teams, there should be only one left

for me Italy team have a better chance to reach the finals over Spain, I think that anyone who is watching matches of the Spain are going to conclude that this team is one of the worst Euro teams when I comes to playing without the ball,
 a team without a ball that takes a completely unreassuring shape and feels like a weak team, fortunately they have not yet met a strong and fast team in the rebounds, so they have now An opportunity to correct this aspect before facing the glowing Italy, Spain should be more careful this time, the problem is that they are possessing but the front line does not intimidate the opponents at all, there is a complete and clear exposure of what they intend to do, you cannot rely on complex games in the long run, They should be more pragmatic against the Italians, or there will be a catastrophe that may not be ominous.

I was expecting as well France to reach the final but they have proven us wrong and now they blame each other.
My second favorite is still in the competition (Italy) and from what we have seen, I believe that this is a very good chance for them to beat Spain and take their shot at lifting the trophy.

I'd be lieing if I say that Italy isn't the best team in the Euro 2020 yet. At the start of the tournament, my money was on either Belgium or France but both teams have been eliminated. Belgium, because they are ranked #1 on fifa's list. France because of their squad quality and the fact that they won the last World cup. I was kinda hoping for same level of football they played at the world cup in the euros too.

Italy played top class football yesterday and I was overly surprised how they controlled majority of the game and constantly putting the pressure on Belgium when it should be the other way round (Belgium was losing so they should be the one applying pressure).

I wouldn't quite agree with your opinion.
Italy had big problems in the match with Austria and also the match against Belgium could have ended in another way, with the victory of Belgium, because the match was very uncertain and open until the end.
I agree that Italy is a very good team, but they will face very difficult opponents in the semifinals and finals and it is impossible to predict anything.
I was impressed by the English and the way they play in defense.
I think Ukraine has no chance tonight although surprises are always possible.
In the second match, I give a small advantage to Denmark.

Italy is indeed one of the strong candidates to win Euro 2020, but that does not mean they will definitely come out as champions. In the semifinals, Italy will meet Spain. Although Spain's performance at this Euros was not very good, Spain is still a big team that also has a winning mentality (Spain has won the Euros three times).

Switzerland played so well yesterday,  I wish I had get on a draw in the first 90 minutes. And  of course Belgium didn't manage to get into overtime. This Euro 2020 tournament was a bad deal for me so far, I lost so many bets. I think I will have to put everything on one card for the final to recover. I'm rooting for both England and Denmark for today's quarter finals matches. I know a lot of people believe that England might find it difficult to get past Ukraine as this would be their first away match and Ukraine is often a stubborn opponent, I am of the opinion that England would win regardless of their shortcomings. If anyone would meet Italy or Spain in the finals, I want that team to be England so we can have an interesting euro 2020 final match.
