Pereira is not a very likable character since he doesn't smile a lot but I can say he put all his strength to be great in this sport. He is from a very poor beginning though, same as those who started from scratch. I would be happy for him to become successful too.

Dana White and the UFC went thru the hoops to get and support McGregor in his foray into boxing.  But the thing is if the UFC fighter lost in a boxing match it diminishes the UFC fighter's stock and in a way it also diminishes the UFC as a brand.  So after McGregor vs Mayweather, the UFC isn't having more boxing matches involving fighters from their roster.

I don't think it affects UFC at all, but they can't control money and take most of the earnings like they are doing in their competition.
Let me predict that is McGregor makes another boxing fight UFC will allow him to do it, but other fighters wont be allowed to do that.

Well, Alex Pereira can not please everyone, and even targeting to please anybody at all, but surely even though he is not smiling more often he doesn't really need it, because this is UFC, what is important here is if you can beat the other guy which Alex Pereira is really capable of knocking the other guy out for sure, well he doesn't need to be likable because people does like him the way he was now, even though I am not a fan of Alex Pereira because I am for Israel Adesanya, Pereira surely got the attribute in being a champion,

UFC does not like fighters who are active online inside octagon. Demetrious Johnson is a great example. The guy is so much positive, that UFC exchanged him for other fighter (Mighty Mouse has 11 title defence, lost to triple C and got exchanged for Ben Askren lol). No wonder why people dont love Dariush, Muhammad or Whittaker. Because they are too good as persons People dont like Pereira, because he dont speak English, shows no emotions, and got title fight after beating 3 average guys (2 of them were not even in top15), while others wait ages for a title fight.

There are actually positives and negatives for both sides. A fighter can jump around and act like he's the best in the world in any circumstance and bring in better revenue for the fighting organization or company and at the same time bring better money for himself as well.

He dominated the fight for at least 4 rounds, he could have won the fight if he just didn't roll back and still have his balance but Periera chased him while his back against the cage. Same Izzy style I think he can win against Pereira, he just has to avoid getting caught by a clean shot because, with just one, he will get more clean shots after it.

For those who have missed the news: World Wrestling Entertainment is merging with Endeavor Group, the parent company of competitor UFC, to form a new publicly traded company. So far I dont know what will UFC get from that merge. More tv broadcast time? New fans? Lesnar 2.0 ?

I also heard that the owner of UFC Endeavor has bought over 50% of WWE's shares and they stated that the UFC and WWE have now merged and become one container.
I don't know whether this development can have a positive impact on the UFC or not because these two sports events are very different.
UFC is a free fighting sport that really uses self-defense skills, while WWE is a sporting event that tends to be entertainment because the fights are artificial settings or fights to entertain the audience.
But strangely there are several fighting figures who support the merging of these two sports events such as Conor McGregor and he stated that he wants to be one of the new champions.
But indeed there are some WWE fighters who become UFC fighters as well as Brock Lesnar who fights at heavyweight.

It is true that people do not want to watch fighters who just don't talk trash about his opponent. Very few people actually want to see good fighting. I am not saying the fighters who talk trash a lot are not good. We all know about Chael Sonnen. He was really great with trash-talking. Does anyone else think that the skills of Israel Adesanya are not as good as they were before or is it just me? I really feel like he is not as good as he was before anymore. Of course, it is not like he is not good anymore. But I certainly feel that he has already been accepted by the people as one of the best in the world. Probably that has also gone into his head. Adesanya is also in the gym training and preparing he was never lazy with that part, but I think he likes media attention more than Pereira does.
It would be better for MMA sports and this division if Adesanya wins the fight, that way we could have story between this guys continue, but I am not sure if Izzy can do it.

Dana White is a very, very money oriented. He prioritizes money so much that I bet he will suck Conor's balls every day and night if it increases his income. Yes, money is important but Dana White is very addicted, I think he is the main barrier here for fighters. UFC would have far amazing fights if it appreciated fighters over show makers.

I think that language is not a barrier in trashtalk, especially if we keep in mind that Makhachev and Khabib talk Russian which is very fluent language in offensive words and the way Russian offensive words sound, it's just, a language for fight and trashtalk. But the reason why these people don't do trashtalk is that it's not a thing that a good man should do in Dagestan, it's also against their religion and these guys are religious and family men. There comes a cultural difference which at some point is hard to explain to foreigner with different culture.
If Conor was from Dagestan, no one would appreciate him in his home country because of his trashtalk, offensive actions, etc.

I also saw this news and I confess that when I was reading this news I even thought it was a bad combination, but then I started looking at things from another angle, what if WWE athletes were to start fighting for real without acting but it would be a fight following the rules of wrestling? no doubt this would be something very innovative that would attract attention even from people who like real fights, those moves that wrestling guys do, if it's a real fight without staging, we could see the fights at a very high level, something completely different from what we have already seen. the referee would be someone serious, the judges would also be someone serious, the winners could be decided by knockout and jury decision

Like movie actors acting in war movies participating in real war  . Some asian promotions in past have special MMA rules - ground game and submitting can be done only starting from round two. But during round one, fighters were allowed to do throws and standing wrestle. This was made specially, to make fight more exciting and last longer, because in past not many fighters managed and knew how to escape kneebars and achilles locks.
