I don't know if he replaced Ronaldo. He has been there already when Ronaldo came, but Ronaldo just cast a shadow on Benzema. Let's also not forget that there was a time when he really really gave away big chances en masse. Ronaldo was so much more efficient as his statistics show. It is not Real Madrid mistakes but in fact PSG played so well in the first half. Real Madrid even did not come back before the mistake of Donnarumma and the equalizer from Benzema. Without that moment, PSG would have not collapsed and I doubt that Real Madrid would have not been able to come back.

PSG are always like that, they are weak mentally and their team are lack of a true leader who can tighten their team and boost their mental at important time. They have good quality but without a strong leader, captain, they will not be able to win big matches. Marquinhos is their captain but he even did not manage to complete his defense task. I am not sure why did he make the mistake which caused the third goal for Benzema.
