You can't dominate the possession without any intention to score but you expect to win.  Atletico play perfectly tactically.  Manchester United don't know what to do in the attack phase. The protection is tragic as always. Atletico plays with purpose, their plan was to seat back and counter. Once Atletico Madrid attacks, they look more likely to score. But as for Manchester united they just play with rush and no target. They have to improve of their last touches and passes. They are unable to create any good scoring opportunities just because their final passes are not good.

I would like to see Atletico Madrid reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season and I think Atletico Madrid still have a great chance of doing so in this match. The first half went according to plan with Atletico Madrid leading by 1 goal at Old Trafford, but I hope the second half Atletico Madrid can add at least 1 more goal to seal the win.

Ajax deserved to win this match and I am sure they will score the winning goal in the second half. Domination and high possession of the ball will give them the opportunity to create goals.

It seems to be 50-50 whether Ajax will win or whether it will be a draw. Bookmakers don't believe in a win for Benfica at all. The new rule is also very disadvantageous for Ajax, who had played 2-2. With the old rule Ajax would just be through if this would remain 0-0. For the general football fan it is nice, half an hour of extra time and possibly penalties. Benfica will be relieved if it goes to penalties.

Pogba is on now, Rashford and Cavani as well, the tension is building up in the game, MUFC pressing hard to get the goal but this Atletico Madrid defence is a tough nut to crack with very experienced defenders and they are good at soaking up pressure unlike what we saw from PSG last week. We are in the last ten minutes of play and if MUFC scores now, they may just win...Even in the Benfica- Ajax game, any team with the goal now wins.

Maybe you haven't watched Atlético Madrid play in tournaments before. They don't need to dominate possession in order to win a game, and this is just one of those games. Manchester will have to dig deep via individual brilliance to put this one to extra time

I don't see it to be ridiculous, at least ATM is a top team in there domestic Laliga and also an elite team when looking at teams in the UCL too. In fact, they are a team capable of winning the UCL at any time. It's just that, it's too early to see Manchester United go. There might be arguably 10minutes on the clock and an even added time for possibilities. Perhaps a saving goal from Ronaldo but, I doubt any of that is going to surface in this game. ATM is a team that has matsersd the act of playing from a defensive side and even though Manchester United might be playing all the game, it's going to be so difficult getting an equalizer in this match.

I didn't watch the Ajax vs Benfica match, but the statistics of this match are dominated by Ajax. So far Ajax have trailed by 1 goal from Benfica even though Ajax dominated almost 70% of this match, it doesn't look good for Ajax.

It would be great if Benfica came out victorious in this match and qualified for the quarter-finals. Now the game has entered injury time and Atletico and Benfica's chances of victory are getting clearer. Manchester have issues of  not being stable in giving good results in their game ,  sometimes it's very hard for me to predict Manchester United in their games if they will lead the game or not.

Wow, Benfica, just wow. It was difficult to see this coming. Ajax dominated game, Benfica had very few chances and one goal was enough for them. I'm disappointed about elimination of Ajax. This season they had such good them and I expected to see them going far.

So Atletico really won this match in the end and is advancing to the next round. Overall i have to say that i think Atletico deserved to go trough in this matchup if we are looking at both legs, they definitely where the better and dominating team in the first leg and today they were playing very efficiently. I also have to say, that i was pretty disappointed with the performance of Manchester United. They definitely were the dominating team today as they had more ball possesion but in the end i never really had the feeling, that they could create good chances. Their only hope today was that they would score after a freekick or a corner kick or something as they could never really put Atletico under real pressure.

It was a very dull game for a neutral fan,both teams dissapoint, performance-wise,I don't know what you meant by Manchester United had more chance than Atletico Madrid because for me I didn't see any clear chances, I blame the coach for his tactics,he would have stuck his midfield by starting Paul pogba along Fernades and Fred and play either Ronaldo and Sancho or cavani but he chose to go with the inexperienced Elenga and this cost him the game for me.

Many had high hopes for CR7 coming into this game, i don't blame them.. he was on fire against Tottenham in the epl, but tonight Atletico Madrid's defence have been able to stop him as well as the other players that were thrown against them. I wouldn't say Manchester United didn't play well, they dominated play and gave us a good game, but they simply were not the best team tonight even with the home advantage. Now there's no Messi and no Ronaldo in the UCL, It should be Atletico against benfica next, it should be a good display as well.

I don't see it to be ridiculous, at least ATM is a top team in there domestic Laliga and also an elite team when looking at teams in the UCL too. Atletico Madrid was able to pull the upset, and while fans are not going to be happy to see the Manchester United being eliminated so early in the tournament this is what makes sports fun to watch, if you were to ask me which of those two teams had the best chances of moving forward I would have given my vote to the Manchester United without thinking about it, but we must remember that even if fans prefer teams that play offensively and that score a lot, if a team can play good defense they can win a championship by mastering that style as well, I am not saying Atletico Madrid will win the tournament, but at least they have proven once again that defensive play is still an effective way to win games at the highest levels.
