Personally without the El Classico I think Chelsea has more chances of going through Real Madrid in the champions league. If anyone thinks because of the what happened between the Spanish giants that Chelsea is the favorites is wrong. That's not how football works. The game between Chelsea and Real Madrid in my opinion is a different ball game.

@Magicalking Real Madrid ain’t a weak opponent and Chelsea would not be taking any chances by underestimating them, hence I have a strong feeling that it’ll a game with lots of goals in it. Also it’s too early too say which team has an advantage, because if their key player’s get injured then both teams will be vulnerable, hence let’s wait till we get closer to this fixture before considering wagering on either side.

Yes and also, even though Spain or La Liga have three representatives including Madrid, Atletico and Villarreal but at this moment it seems representatives from England or the EPL promise better results. I don't care about Bayern Munich, which is still available in the quarter-finals, because I really believe it looks like the final will bring together teams from England again like the previous season where the final match was Chelsea v Manchester City. But for this season, these three EPL teams are looking very good and even, Chelsea who are having problems in fact Chelsea still looks fine and these three teams from EPL have a big chance to get to the final.

Liverpool and City are lucky to face a relatively easier opponents although ATM might resist a bit. In the semifinal, we will see at least 2 EPL teams, Bayern and either Real Madrid or Chelsea. That particular game is hard to predict. Afterwards, it is a little bit complicated and City will have equal chance to progress or not. It is another opportunity for them to lift the title this season, hopefully they will get it once!

I also think that Real Madrid will play no worse than before in the Champions League after losing to Barcelona in La Liga. It happens to all teams and often means nothing. I disagree about Chelsea though, Tuchel is a good coach and knows how to play. By the way last year a lot of people also said Real Madrid should win but they failed. This year the situation is the same and the outcome can be unpredictable.

It is not only in the period of Pep Guardiola that EPL clubs did well in UCL even before his arrival some of these clubs done brilliantly well, clubs like Liverpool when Steven Gerald was still an active player won UCL trophy when they played against AC milan in a final,  while Arsenal narrowly lost to Barcelona in another finals when Arsene Wenger was their manager, in subsequent seasons some EPL clubs are usually knockout in quarter and semifinals, thus English team has quality players and good managers and I am very sure they would continue to dominate Europe in both Europa and UCL competitions, this season three of their clubs had qualify for quarter final.

It's hard to easily confirm that Real Madrid is easy to lose in a row. Just because they lost yesterday to Barcelona, it may not completely be a continuous defeat. You only see from one game, not from a few games achieved by Madrid. So it would be very skeptical to quickly conclude regarding the future of Real Madrid, even though the game has not started with Chelsea yet. The last 16 is still going on and there are still a lot of unexpected things that will continue to happen.

Agree and also, Germany which only has 1 team that is a regular participant in the UCL but honestly Bayern Munich is a scary team for any team it faces and there are not many German teams or maybe none that can match Bayern Munich's achievements so far in the UCL. In fact, Dortmund itself is a competitor to Bayern Munich in the Budesliga, basically still not performing better in the UCL. Although several times they reached the quarter-finals and also reached the final in the 2012/2013 season, it was still not enough for Dortmund to match their eternal rivals.

Well i definitely agree with you that the english teams are the big favorites to win the Champions League this year. Manchester City is probably the biggest favorite of them all, followed by Liverpool and then maybe Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all 3 at the same level i would say. That the english teams are so dominatn is not really a surprise to me. The big difference is that the english clubs just have way more money to spend in comparison to Bayern Munich for example because the clubs of the premier league get way more money from the TV stations then the Bundesliga clubs for example. The premier league gets 5,5 billion € for 3 seasons (1,83 B€ per season) while the bundesliga gets 4,4 Billion € for 4 seasons (1,1 B€ per season), which is a huge difference and in addition to that german clubs need to own at least 51% of the clubs themself, which is a good thing in my opinion because that way there are no sheikhs or oligarchs which can purchase football clubs for fun like in Paris, Chelsea or ManCity, but of course this also means that this money is missing.
So the english teams will always have a big financial advantage and it will be very hard for Bayern Munich to stay competitive in the next years in my opinion.

I think that the English Premier League should be the best team in the Champions League because the English Premier League is the most competitive league in the world right now.
Every team and even the weaker teams have the ability to upset the bigger teams from time to time. And that's why the teams in English Premier League are a lot tougher. For me, I think it will be unacceptable if the English teams don't do well in the Champions League actually.

I don’t follow the history of changing odds from bookmakers, but if I think logically, I can assume that now Real Madrid has begun to be quoted worse than before the meeting with Barcelona. But how do you correctly write such a kind of "random" result is nothing more than a fluctuation and it is wrong to draw conclusions based on it. Therefore, if the odds of Real Madrid have increased, then betting on it now will be value betting.
