The score could have been more than one goal, Villarreal squandered many of their scoring chances to seal the match unfortunately couldn't utilize them, Bayern were shadow of former self they couldn't register any shot on goal in the first half,  my fear is that Villarreal playing Bayern at Allianz Arena would be very difficult for them in the second leg, infact playing defensively there might be counterproductive for Villarreal, I believe Emery has his own game plan, however I give credit to them for defeating an experience Bayern team who had always dominated UCL every season reaching semifinals stages, the second leg will be very competitive.

Thanks for Madrid because they got revenge from Chelsea and i won my bet on them and second leg is more easy for them because playing at their home ground but other match really surprising me that Bayern failed to win against Villareal although Bayern had 62% ball possessions but seems it is useless because they cannot score goals

If Atletico Madrid had tried to score with a few counterattacks, I would have said that their tactics were good. They did not attack. Even after conceding a goal, they made no attempt to attack. So I don't think it's a good idea to play defensively against a tough opponent like Manchester City. Good results can never be expected. I think if they play like this, Atletico will also lose in the second leg too.

I'm just loving the Chelsea v Real Madrid match now. Real Madrid had a great start to the match thanks to Benzema's two superb headers by only a three-minute interval. After that, I was like that was it and Chelsea were going to have big struggles. But Chelsea still managed to score their goal finally in fifteen minutes. And this was another header by Havertz. It is a tough day for the goalkeepers indeed.    Now it is halftime by a 1-2 score. But if the match goes on like this, then Real Madrid might still win.

Well Benzema is again and again a frightening specter for their opponents. 3 minutes 2 goals is something that is quite good to see. His movement is absolutely incredible and it can be said that he is performing quite well now.
Chelsea cut the gap but it's not enough now for them

Chelsea are just in a desperate condition now. They lost the game by 3-1 in Stamford Bridge and it was a huge hit to them. I'm not sure if they can manage to recover at this point. It is football and everything is possible any time of course. But if we look at this realistically, I don't think that Real Madrid would let them achieve their goal in Santiago Bernabeu. They just need to keep the current level of performance and this would be enough for them to advance to next round. And btw, Benzema had a hat-trick in this match which was lovely.

There is no need to justify that Real Madrid are too strong for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans have to admit the result of the 1st leg. There is no need to talk about Tuchel being this and Tuchel being that. Ngolo Kante cannot do as much as he did last year against Real Madrid.

Just how good is Benzema?
His first 2 goals were truly world class and he was the difference yesterday again. It is amazing to see how he's raising performance with age - both him and Modrić are constantly showing that age is not that important anymore.

It's true that Villarreal should have scored more than one goal, because there were 2 big chances from Gerard Moreno that failed to finish well.
Although Villarreal only won by a difference of one goal, and Villarreal's position is not safe, but what they beat was Bayern who are very experienced
in the Champions League competition. So this Villarreal win is a very good result, and of course can increase the confidence of Villarreal players
for the second leg match.

Villarreal surprise me. They beat Juventus and now Bayern Munich. If this continues, they will be the ultimate surprise team in the Champions League. The early goal in the 8th minute was well played and if the 2:0 just before the break hadn't been offside, it would have been a very difficult return match for Bayern. But now, they can always score 1 goal.
