It was unexpected to get 3-1 win for Real Madrid but I had expected something this TBH. While Bayern lost was totally out of my expectation.

Btw Villarreal didn't just win but they were the better team here today hope they will be ready when they go to Germany.

I couldn't count how many goal chances they have missed, they should have ended the match with 2 or 3 goal leads. This match is unreal though, both teams play fast-paced gameplay, and as in result, we can clearly see how good the Villareal defences are.

Regarding another match, though luck for Chelsea, I doubt the second leg would do any difference.

Real Madrid i think sealed the eliminatory i dont see Chelsea coming back in Real Madrid house. Less with Benzema in this form.

But for me the best was the Villarreal performance, they beat Bayern in a majestic way, and they can score 2 or 3 more goals, Bayerns was very very lucky, the match can be ended 4-0 for Villarreal (woodwork, shot for the middle of the pitch, and two counterattacks).

Defend huh, probably not. Real Madrid doesnt really fit with defensive playing style and they have been pretty much loves being offensive ever since the group stage. They tried to not be that aggresive against PSG on the 1st leg and they didnt get the result they wanted for, being aggresive on the other side fit them properly. Even better right now with Benzema currently being on top of his peak performance, two hattrick in a row and thats insane

It's karim Benzema again with anothe rman of the moment performance. 2 consecutive hat-tricks in an UCL game, that's something yiu don't see everyday and still, some people would still refer to him as an average player. We had really great two days in the Champions League. Especially thanks to the Benfica - Liverpool and Chelsea - Real Madrid games, we all must be delighted with the performances. I'm not saying the other two games as there was only one goal in both of them. Liverpool didn't have a big trouble against Benfica generally and managed to get a nice 3-1 win. And today, Chelsea - Real Madrid game was just fascinating. Both halves were great to watch thanks to both teams. But the happy side at the end was Real Madrid by 3-1. Apparently Bayern Munchen was not able to prove that they can beat Villareal tonight easily. Bayern Munchen lost 1-0 to Villarreal even though they dominated this match well from the start. This is a result that surprises many people because on paper Bayern Munchen has a bigger advantage than Villareal.

Real Madrid beautifully remove PSG from champions league, as if that wasn't enough they have now do the same thing to Chelsea except that there is another away-home match next week, isn't that crystal clear that Benzema is the new old goat that wouldn't retire anytime soon as Ronaldo and Messi are no longer giving us the entertainment we use to have, the goal would have been 4 if not the off target Benzema missed.

Karim Benzema really is a frightening figure for the opponent's defense, he proved again in this match. The hat-trick he created made Real Madrid lock the victory from Chelsea. Real Madrid almost always get a win when Benzema plays, otherwise if he can't play Real Madrid will find it difficult to score goals. Previously he saved Real Madrid in the last 16 from Paris Saint-Germain. Now I think he's going to do that again in this top 8.

Real Madrid has really made my night. Kudos to Karim Benzema for standing tall when it mattered the most. I think Chelsea should start looking for a new coach because Thomas Tuchel is finished. How’s he going to build the team everyone will be afraid of? Mendy hasn’t been the same since the return from the international break, Chelsea is out of the champions league this season except a miracle happens.

Meanwhile Liverpool played more attractively where they won the match as we expected. Benfica put up a good fight and they also scored although the result didn't cost Liverpool too much. A 1-3 win against Benfica will make Liverpool's chances of qualifying for the next round bigger. I think Manchester City will also qualify for the semifinals despite only winning 1-0 at home yesterday.

Wasn't always attractive, especially in the second half. Shame about the clean sheet -- goal was all about Konate's mistake, first missing his interception and then blocking Alisson's view, am still sure the Brazilian would have kept it out 1-on-1. Then again, I suppose Konate had to pay for scoring, 2-0 was probably jus about deserved (want to say Jota should have made it 4 at the end or passed to Diaz, but he'd already done so well I'd be evil to complain).

Konate also was the one that scored the first goal, so I wouldn't be too mad about it. Plus, getting scored is not really that much of a big deal when you win 3-1, I mean would be sad about 10-2 result if it were to happen? I am sure you wouldn't, well at the very least I think you shouldn't. It's a clear indication that they will beat Benfica very easily, 3-1 is not that easy to overturn.

Not impossible, big clubs could do that, like if Liverpool lost 3-1 in the first game, I would still give them a chance in the second game, but since they are the ones who managed to win, and Benfica is not good enough to overturn that, I doubt the second game would be even fun, it will be a boring game because the results are already in after first game if you ask me.
