Also if you want to defend United being "fourth and close to third", you have to acknowledge that they are even closer to 6th as well.

They are many games ahead of Arsenal and Spurs, meaning if those two teams ended up winning, then they would be ahead of United and which would make United the 6th team, and all depends on a single loss while others win to make them 7th as well, just single game, since they are same points with West Ham as well. With Inter current form, not much to be expected, their opponent is a club that is in excellent form every game. So it's clear that Liverpool will be very ready to face Inter later in Leg 2. Also, the 2nd leg will be held at Anfield which of course a good result for Liverpool is something for sure. There's nothing Inter can hope for with at least 2 goals to make it a draw, but to be honest it's something that is difficult for Inter to achieve.
