One good edition could be regular use of Pink ball cricket - Day Night Test match, so that regular peeps can visit stadium after work for at least 2-3 hours. it can surely help with revenue and attracting more crowd in the ground.

Day- night test match could be one if the option which could be explored as I think we had one such match of not mistaken . This will right have more people as after work right said some of them can come just to have couple of hours as a rest time .

Test cricket with red ball is the oldest form of cricket and it should not be changed. We already have so many new versions of cricket like one day, T20 etc for the ones who needs quick entertainment. But for those who are the real lovers of test matches, we should not change any format not even day n night tests with white ball.

Very few people can afford the luxury of watching a match that lasts 5 days.Today, people are left with less amount of spare time and increasing level of debt (especially from the mortgage). 35-hour weeks and 40-hour weeks are fast becoming distant memory, with average working hours per week rising to 60-70 hours per week in countries such as South Korea and Japan. Under such circumstances, the only way for test cricket to survive is to allow people to watch the game once their work shift is over. And this is one of the reasons why T20 matches are getting popular now. Most of them start after 7pm or 8pm, and lasts no more than 3 hours.

Sorry, don't get me wrong. I did not mean that I watch every ball of the Test matches. I miss sessions, even days of the test matches. But yes, I keep myself content updated with the scores and actually depending on the score I turn on the tv.

Not missing a ball was a habit when I was very young. If I can recall then in the college life.

I am in favor of Day-night test too. but there are some small complication because of ball type. will try to give some details soon.

Watching cricket is a luxury and most of us can not just afford to have this luxury. It's not that cricket is boring it's the busy life we have. Kids, office, business, social gathering etc turns out to be more important than cricket as we grow up.

You are lucky that your office has the setup to watch sports like cricket.

Maybe. Maybe not. I doubt this will draw in more viewers though, but they are trying their best which is good to see. I would love to see the return of Rest of the World vs Asia style matches. Those were epic.

Now PCB have come forward with confirmed statement of providing complete security. Lasith Malinga has come up with the plan to stay out of the tournament for security reasons.

I hate it. These people use sports as their weapon for whatever their issue is. The last one in the New Zealand tour of Bangladesh team was nearly killed Bangladeshi players.

Well, it certainly can bring back the crowd in the ground. Talking about Asia XI vs World XI,  if we minus Indian team then Asian block is in a big mess. Out of 4 teams 3 teams are not doing well in the Test cricket and ranks very low (not counting Afghanistan because they are new). There are hardly any match-winners if they are up against any high ranking team. I see only  2-3 good cricketers who are eligible to make into Asian XI  with condition apply.

When I gamble for myself I mess up big time but when I pick a team for someone else my percentage is larger (although I need to test it with more matches before drawing a conclusion but I am pretty sure about my gambling outcome LOL).

I noticed you have the ability to process information, may be you can give it a try since you watch a lot matches than following the scores.

Srilankan players were ambushed once in Pakistan and it was a brutal scene and after that no team ever visited them and UAE became their hosting nation, i am not sure players who faced or remembered those attacks will put their life on the line and take a risk like that. Their prime minister being a cricket legend will try everything in his power to bring cricket back to Pakistan but i doubt any team will be touring them apart from lower rank teams.

I didn't know that Australia has been missing a 5 matches series win in England against England since 2001, So, they finally going to overcome this, I guess.
Woakes is replaced for Overton, Stokes is playing as a batsman only because of his shoulder injury. More trouble for England.

I guess no one other than JSRAW watches a test match, everyone else gets up to date with the score. Watching test cricket is only enjoyable if it's the 4th innings and it has some sauce. Other than this, I never watch, check espncricinfo all the times.

You make a really good point though I would still love to see players like Dhoni, Kohli, Rohit, Shakib, Azam, Amir, Bumrah, Malinga etc playing in the same team against the rest of the world. That would be a spectacle worth watching.

You missed his post. He didn't forget. The match was not Australia vs England, it was Australia vs Stokes and that's why he didn't count it, lol.
Even other than Smith, Australia isn't a much better team, is they? See the total run vs Smith.

Already one wicket down for England. Denley out. If they lose 2 more wickets, they'll be under pressure and they by all means need to make 350-400+ runs to have a chance in the first innings. There are barely any chances of rain so it will be a complete 5 day match without any interruption.
