Shahid Afridi is the man who has worked a lot for the people of his area by distributing Food and other essential in this crisis, It should be an example of the duty of a true hero. When he played cricket people loved him a lot so it's high time to give back such type of love to the needy people, A true hero should treat like this and it's really sad to see except this person no one players and celebrity did like this, one thing you should take always consider that without the love of the people no one can make his such a career because Fans is the ultimate strength of every celebrity so they should do for the mass people during such type of Disaster.

A number of cricket players in India have contributed to the PM Cares (Relief fund established by the Prime Minister to fight against COVID 19). Many have publicized their contributions, but Virat Kohli displayed extra-ordinary selflessness by refusing to specify the amount which he donated (obviously he donated more than anyone else in the team). The BCCI has donated Rs. 51 crore (almost $7 million). Even the fielding coach (R Sridhar) has donated a significant amount. My only complaint is that the highest paid member of the Indian team, Ravi Shastri (fondly known as "damaadji" in India) hasn't donated a penny yet.

BTW, here we have Danish Kaneria undertaking relief work all by himself in Karachi:

During these isolation times, there is a whatsapp forward message which is about cricket and I thought it would be good if I share here so that you people may kill your boredom somewhat.

Here you go: How many number of runs an opener will be able to score maximum in an ODI match (in 50 overs or 300 balls) given that there is no wide or no-balls is bowled. (It is all about the maximum possible runs for a player in ODI by assuming a power hitter like Chris Gayle or Rohit Sharma is a player).

It would be fun reading if you guys share your thoughts along with logical explanation rather than just stating some numbers Smiley.

Watching for 8 hours every day is extreme. If you do that, then you may be ignoring your studies or your work commitments.
Not everyone have much work to do at this lockdown season so they have no options other than spending their days with netflix and Youtube.Sometime myself see old circket moments from different countries which still gives goosebumps to me like what we will react if we watch that for first time.

I don't want anyone to concentrate on their studies now because we are really got stressed with out busy life schedule so why not give some rest to our mind and body. Grin

I feel jealous about you guys. I am an IT employee and even now we have to work for 9-10 hours every day. On top of that, even on weekends there is no entertainment. The lockdown is quite strict here and all the shopping malls and cinema theaters are closed. I am getting really frustrated sitting inside the house all the time. On top of that, there are little children in my house and they can be really irritating.

Most of the people are working from home these days. If you are on Job, Lockdown does  mean that you are on holiday. You are being paid to work from home. But the good thing is that your boss cannot see what exactly you are working on. So why not take the  "Look Busy Do Nothing" approach and watch the old cricket matches and play with your kids in the office hours.

LOL... I wish it was that simple.

The IT guys are tracking each and every activity in the laptop (which is provided by the organization). They have all the details, such as for how long the laptop is in idle mode, which are the websites we are visiting and for how long we are using each of the apps. Usually they don't create any issues. But when some data breach is noticed, they will publish the logs for the past 30 days and we need to be careful about it.

Here in India, most of the managers are shitheads and they don't respect the privacy of those who work with them. They should not bother someone if he is completing the tasks assigned to him on time... but that is not the case. I haven't faced much trouble recently, as my manager is a tolerable guy. But some of my friends are having a horrible time with their work from home setup.

This is really strange to know that your company act as a spyware on your computer. Have they installed Key loggers and cam recording on your laptop which keep track all of your activity ? Being an IT guy yourself, you would know how to pass by everything.  Wink
I thought this type of privacy breach is prohibited in most of the multinationals companies.

Ah, We all are on same boat. I came to know about BTC very late as well (Aug, 2017-China ban)
It looks like Coronavirus sunk any hope for the BTC rally of 2017 to return again this year thanks to the halving event soon. Do you think BTC will still rally like crazy despite the COVID effect this year?
Right now its holding up pretty good considering it already took a dive to sub $3900 range and halving is 35 days away so i am bullish for next 1.5 years. Crazy Bull run seems tough this year but no one has crystal ball so its highly speculative. TBH i would be very happy if BTC touch the $15000-$16000 mark by the EOY.

Well they don't have any other choice, don't they?  Cheesy Everyone in India hoping IPL and ICC trophy for Virat, Tbh don't want to remember him like any "Tragedy Captain"
Very true. This year probably wouldn't be their year too considering Virat's poor form in recent times. It feels like WW3 is here thanks to COVID(No sports etc).
Yeah, He's in bad form but he's champion player so its just matter of time , who know if this unplanned break help him in a some way.

Well...

1 over has 6 balls

so 5 sixes in first 5 ball and 3 runs in the last ball so that he can keep strike. ( 5*6 + 3 =33 runs in one over)

Repeat this process for 49th overs.

33 runs * 49 overs = 1617 runs

And in 50th over he can hit 6 sixes (6*6 =36 runs)

1617 + 36 = 1653 runs in an ODI

I don't understand what's wrong with media ?   Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh faced criticism when they support the Shahid Afridi appeal for donation. After backing Shahid Afridi's coronavirus fund, Indian cricketers face online abuse. This is not good approach at all in these testing times.  Sad

I have seen this news, rather than thinking about humanitarian donations helping a fellow cricket who played together and they are good friends the media and social media especially the Orange terrorist started attacking them. There is no way we could change the perception of these stupid fools as they do not consider everyone as human beings.

I actually expected Coronavirus to help BTC in a big way initially since it is digital money and is easier to access when compared to physical FIAT under current lockdown conditions across the world, but the opposite happened and the world stuck to FIAT mostly.

This just goes to prove that mainstream acceptance of BTC and other popular crypto as currencies is a dream. BTC continues to be viewed as a speculative asset primarily and currency secondarily.

And that guy has to be in the striking end when they open.

This calculation is okay in pen and paper but in no way possible even if you let them to bat against an under 11 blowers LOL

so 5 sixes in first 5 ball and 3 runs in the last ball so that he can keep strike. ( 5*6 + 3 =33 runs in one over)

Repeat this process for 49th overs.

33 runs * 49 overs = 1617 runs

And in 50th over he can hit 6 sixes (6*6 =36 runs)

1617 + 36 = 1653 runs in an ODI
And that guy has to be in the striking end when they open.
+ The non striker batsmen should also be selfless to let his partner score 3 runs at the end of every over  Tongue He can always stop running after they scored a couple in the last ball causing the opener 33 runs in the successive overs  Tongue

So the maximum possible runs a batsman could score without the help of any others is 36*25=900

This calculation is okay in pen and paper but in no way possible even if you let them to bat against an under 11 blowers LOL
The maximum score that a player can score realistically in my opinion is around 350 under the right conditions. The current highest score is 264 by Rohit Sharma and the next one is 237 by Martin Guptill.

Unrealistically, I agree with the calculation that JSRAW came up with since that is the best option and it makes complete sense if you think about it.

Yeah First striker + Selfless partner (Dravid)... Hypothetical scenario so nothing could go wrong here, we already got world record.  Smiley

350 runs is really big. IMO In real world setting even 300 runs looks impossible. But if i have to bet on any opener then will go with Rohit sharma.

There's only one player comes to my mind when we talk about a tripple; it's Rohit of course. Anyone here wants a bet on that? Well, forget about tripple century. Who will be the next player to hit the double? What do you think guys? Do you want to have bet on this?

Considering the possibilities and the past performance till now the name stands in many people mind's is Rohit Sharma only. But yes, we can have some extra ordinarily one of the innings by some other players as well but that would be just once. When we talk about consistency or player who has higher chances of reaching it then it is Rohit Sharma for me too.

It is hard task to score a double century let alone a triple century in ODI, you need to have a stamina that is out of this world to be able to bat for that long, it took a long time since someone thought a double century in ODI is possible and Sachin made that possible and then the rest of the players tried to reach that goal and a few were successful.
Players like David Warner and Jason Roy have the strike rate to score a double.

The next double may come sooner than you would expect. With every passing year, bowlers are losing their relevance in international cricket. The boundaries are getting shorter and even grounds such as WACA and Kingsmead (which once used to terrorize the batsmen) have become very flat now. When Rohit got his double back then (in 2014 against Sri Lanka), it was somewhat unimaginable. But that is no longer the case now. Even women players such as Amelia Kerr have achieved this feat.

Remember the old days when the entire team used to score something between 250-300 and we all thought that was an epic score? This is why I am pretty confident that someone out there will touch 350 at some point in the next decade.

I would bet on someone like Smith or Warner to achieve something so humungous against a lower ranked team probably.

I can think about Warner as he's attacking batsman and his conversion rate from 50 to 100 is very good but Smith? I have fair amount of doubt on Smith. he's unstoppable in the test format but in limited over cricket he's only above average, not extraordinary.
