If Zimbabwe wins at least 2 of their remaining 3 matches, then West Indies can't qualify. And it is quite possible, given the fact that they are playing against Oman today, and will be facing Scotland on 4th July. They don't even need to win against Sri Lanka. If this happens, it will be the first time that West Indies is not participating in the ODI World Cup. They have played in all the editions from 1975 till 2019 (winning the first two trophies in the process). It also shows how short-sighted was ICC's decision to restrict the world cup to just 10 teams.

Since West Indies could not come to the Super Six with any points, West Indies have no chance to participate in the World Cup. Looking at the batting performance that Zimbabwe is doing today, it can be assured that Zimbabwe will win today's match as well. Zimbabwe gets an added advantage as the matches are held at Zimbabwean venues. Moreover, several batsmen in Zimbabwe's batting line are performing exceptionally well, Sean Williams is one of them. Still unbeaten on 127 runs today.

These days, Sean Williams has been playing like an unstoppable. He is currently in sublime form, lots of confidence in his batting. Today he second-highest ODI runs,142. Zimbabwe setting a massive target of 332/7 after 50 overs. West Indies team will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on today's match, it's unlikely Zimbabwe will lose this match. They have performed good, and West Indies may find themselves to blame for any missed opportunities.

Zimbabwe team were again on fire again it's a fourth match in world Cup Qualifiers where they scored above 300+ which indicates now Zimbabwe team were moving toward experienced and amateur team especially in ODI format, most of his player really love and enjoy ODI format and results is front of everyone like Sean Williams and sikander Raza who's make runs consistently, now in today match Oman make some trouble for them because they are following same runrate for chasing target, but I am sure Zimbabwe bowling side will Handel it carefully and will make a postive results in Thier favor.

In my experience, as far as the survivability of cricket in general goes, voices come from PIG-3 (you can add a couple more from other parts as well but they hardly matter tbh). Handful journalists raise these issues from time to time, you can actually count them on one hand. All of them are biased when it comes to their countries but they do raise some voices here n there.

I have seen a few posts in social media about the ICC not interested in the expansion of the game, but no one is really interested in finding out the root cause. IMO, funding is only part of the problem. The real issue why cricket hasn't expanded worldwide is due to the change in eligibility criteria, which was done sometime back in 2007 or 2008. This resulted in the number of associate nations getting increased to close to 100, and reduced the funding for teams with native players by as much as 90% (because the funds gets divided up among more teams). Till now, I haven't seen a meaningful conversation anywhere against the weird eligibility criteria in cricket.

I was under the impression that ICC handed out associate nation status in wholesale to 100 or so countries when Afghanistan and Ireland became full members (2017-18). 

At least that's when i heard about it and at first, to me it didn't look like a bad decision. In fact, i thought ICC did something good but the way you put it, it does look bad.

In today's match, Zimbabwe managed to score a brilliantly good score. Zimbabwe scored 332 runs in 50 overs for 7 wickets in the match.  We have seen Zimbabwean batsman Sean Williams score a century in every match. His style of play is great which is why Zimbabwe can score so many runs which makes his batting really interesting. But at the moment, Oman is fighting for victory against Zimbabwe. However, their style of play was good initially but the runs did not increase much due to the fall of their wickets later on. With the loss of one wicket for the Oman team at this point, the team is under a lot of pressure as Kaleemullah has lost 7 wickets in the current period. Because this catch by Kaleemullah is caught by Zimbabwe team player with great effort and skill. And right now 51 runs are needed from 23 balls even though the Oman team is trying hard to win. Oman on the other side started good and the century came for Prajapati. At the end 45 overs 268/6 and the required runrate was above 12. For the consecutive overs Oman maintained it, but the end overs became tougher. Anyhow good performance Oman and Zimbabwe have won the match by 14 runs.

One thing is very clear that Zimbabwe is gaining his lost form and its very much clear from there performance in ongoing CWC. Oman team is packed with former first class and U-19 players from India and Pakistan. This gave them an edge during yesterday's match and they put up a decent performance. But that doesn't take away the fact that they played very poorly during the last few days. Oman remain at the bottom of the Super-6 table with 0 points from 3 matches. Now they have matches against West Indies and Netherlands remaining. No Super-6 matches are scheduled for today, and tomorrow there is a crucial match between Scotland and West Indies. Even if West Indies manage to win this match, the chances are that they will not qualify for the ODI World Cup. In fact even if they win all the remaining 3 matches, they may not qualify.

We witness yet another high scoring match. It was always gonna be difficult for the Oman to chase the 333 target but they did well in the end to make it up to 318 runs. The opener Kashyap Prajapati set the tone by scoring 103 runs and the rest of the batsmen did score some runs but together they were not able to chase this target.

Earlier Sean Williams made 142 runs from Zimbabwe and due to his innings, they scored 332 runs. He was also given the match of the match in this important win.
