The only thing I fear is that Xavi will begin to "return" Barcelona to the past by focusing on tiki taka - it seems to me that this strategy is already outdated (even with a great set of performers) and this will lead to worse results.

It may be an outdated strategy but he'll most likely revert to this style. I also doubt it will be as effective during Pep's days but let's see if Xavi can add something and make it "hybrid" to adopt with modern football.

In my opinion, the best hybrid is what Bavaria showed (by the way, using this hybrid, they smashed Barcelona even in its best times). They used the tactics of tiki-taka with very high pressing and infinite control of the ball and the tactic of deliberately giving up the initiative to the opponent in order to "pull" it towards themselves. Diverse tactics always yield better results than playing with only one Plan A (as Barcelona did before).

The match almost ended in a draw, but luck was still on their side in the match. I only saw them fairly balanced for 87 minute even though Real Madrid had the advantage at home. Finally Vinicius Junior managed to break into Sevilla's goal in the 87th minute and made his team secure 3 other important point. I just thought it would end in a draw, but it's good that Real Madrid look strong at the top after that tough win.

What a surprise from real madrid. Karim Benzema goal made Real Madrid increasingly dominate the match. Madrid players efforts bore fruit in the 87th minute, Vinicius Junior goal made Real Madrid win with a score of 2-1. I said once that Vinicius Jr is a good player but he is a little bit messy (with y and not i) and not well concentrating in front of the goal so whenever he fix this he will become one of the best players at his age. He just needs a good coach to improve his performance. For Benzema, although his age, he is doing quite well and leading his team as a captain and a scorer to lead La Liga table.

I like Vinicius' skills, he's great and also very fast. Last night, he managed to lead his team to victory in a match that looked difficult for them from the start. Sevilla had plenty of chances, but a poor finish meant they lost their chance of winning. At the moment Real Madrid will not be under great pressure even though Atletico are currently in second place with a total of 29 point because these 4 point are good enough to keep the distance from Atletico.

You are right, they are more effective than Sevilla. In the next match Real Madrid will host Athletic Bilbao at home ^{[Santiago Bernabeu]}. I think Bilbao are also a strong team this season, they have a strong defense so there is a possibility that it will be a very interesting game to look forward to. I'm sure Madrid will win, but by no more than 2 goals.

Bilbao is a team that might be difficult to beat this season although in most matches they have 8 draws and 2 defeat [. Strong defense is a good advantage of them.

Sevilla played very well until the 65th minute, after which Real Madrid completely seized the initiative and steadily moved towards victory. Lopotegi put together a good team, but they will not be able to compete with Real Madrid for a long time.

Both the teams have performed well here. The match was competitive. Such was the gameplay we expected from both teams. Real Madrid Lucky so they were able to win. However, Sevilla's attacks were very good. Real Madrid defenders could not have won this match if they had not performed well.

I would say that Real was still the better team (and result shows this). Yes, nobody really assumed Sevilla to give this much trouble to Real but the looks of Real is not really that great this season anyway. Sure they are at the top but it is real and them being on top doesn't equal to them being awesome, we have seen the league in much better condition while Real still winning it, this year Barcelona is nowhere to be found for them and ATM was the latest champions so they were seen as a bit of a trouble and they are close anyway, so it is really not the best year for Real at all.

I assume that the best case here is that Real played "better than expected" for me, I would assume when Sevilla plays so much better than regular, Real would lose normally, hence why I am happy that they managed to pull it together and get a win, specially kudos to their defense which everyone said wasn't good this year, but so far only 15 goals scored on them in 14 games which is 5th best in the league.

I predicted a 1-1 or 2-2 draw for the Real Madrid - Sevilla game last night. And it was nearly going to end in a draw by 1-1. But thanks to Vinicius Jr, Real Madrid won a really competitive game by 2-1. They both deserved to win I think and I appreciate the performances of both teams. Real Madrid won by turning the game around from 0-1 and it was a good achievement too. Benzema continued to score in the La Liga after taking a one-game break. Despite his age, he is just wonderful. And this was his 11th goal in his 13th La Liga game.
