Things can not be changed 100% after a few days. New coaches will bring more motivation, fresh training, working environment for players and can make short term positive effects. We can expect a little bit better results from Barcelona in coming weeks.

However, their honey moon with Xavi won't last long because their own problems can not be fixed too fast. I believe they will have honey moon because their quality is still good enough to bring win matches to them if they play with good mentality.

Look at Premier League, Manchester Untied, Ole came and brought short term good results but after 3 years, he fell down a lot there. I don't say Xavi will step on the same shoes of Ole, because they are different coaches and Xavi just begin his career in La Liga. Let's see this interesting debut of Xavi in Barcelona.

Obviously, Xavi cannot solve the global problems of Barcelona and, with such a squad, claim to win the championship or the Champions League, but if he at least puts the team in order and Barcelona starts to beat those whom it really should beat (for example Celta), then its lag behind the group the leaders will be reduced and there will be no danger that Barcelona will miss the next Champions League.
As for United, in my opinion this is a completely different case - having a great lineup, Ole cannot make a team look better than a strong middle peasant. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Barcelona is still in deep trouble in a lot of ways. I mean they had to sell their best player or should I say the best player in the world for their financial conditions. I don't think it can get worse than that. There is a lot for Xavi to work on and improve especially when he does not have the squad he wants.
But for Manchester United, the coach has almost everything he can ask for but still can't make things work and this is becoming a big problem for the team. I think at this point ole is just a liability that needs to be gotten rid of.

The leader Real Sociedad's next target is going to be Valencia in a home game. Comparing the recent forms of these teams, it is clearly seen that Real Sociedad are in a much better shape than their competitor. Valencia were able to win only one time in their last five La Liga games. Actually, they didn't have a bad start to the season but their recent performance is highly inadequate. And this is another difficult game for them. I expect Real Sociedad to maintain their good form and win this game.

Winning this match is very important for Real Sociedad, they are just a point ahead of Real Madrid and losing  or even drawing the game might lead to Sociedad losing their current position. Although, Is very obvious that Real Sociedad is in their best form, they didn't lost in any of their last 5 La Liga matches and have high probabilities is achieving 3 points against Valencia. However, Valencia performance in their last match was quite impressive, but, I don't think they will be able to withstand Real Sociedad in an away match.

Even though I admire Xavi's determination to instill discipline in the team, I don't think that it is sufficient to take Barcelona out of their present poor form, neither do I think that it was a lack of discipline in the team when Koeman was in charge that made them play poorly and lose many games. Barcelona are in a sort of crisis at the moment, the quality on show is relatively low and the clubs heirarchy has a lot of problems in its hands that's it's yet to solve, all of this have to be resolved and the club able to bring in new talents before Barcelona can begin to perform at the level we've come to know them for in the past, discipline isn't just the problem, at the end of the day, it's the team with the better and more organized players that more often than not wins.

Valencia has had a very poor start so far if you have been following. I think Real Sociedad has an edge over them. It's not just hype, but their form has been good. I think they will have a good fight till the end of the season, but certainly won't the first or second. The squad depth will betray them somehow.

I also admit that Xavi does not have enough experience to coach a big team like Barcelona. But Koeman was much more experienced. He has led the team to further decline. Xavi at least don't take Barcelona further down. He may not be experienced enough, but I believe he can blend in with the players very quickly. Able to develop young players more experienced. A coach like Xavi was needed to boost the morale of the young players.

I believe that it was the management that pushed some of the players out of Barcelona and not Koeman. I believe that players like Busquets and Pique will be asked to leave eventually as well by offering them a very small amount of money. And I have to say, I agree that Messi should have stayed and they should have sent other players away, if your limit is 200 million dollars a year, and Messi asks 199 million dollars, you give him that much money and then play youth players all 16 year old and get amateur contracts around Messi.

However in a world where he is gone, I believe that all these 30+ year old 10+ million euro players that doesn't change anything should be gone as well. Instead they could get younger players who would be fighting like crazy for that kind of money. Xavi will not run anyone away neither, some of them are even his teammates from back in the day, he will be great with them.

It's about time someone introduced some discipline to the team. Despite the fact that he's a few years younger than the average coach, the team needs to afford him respect to an extent at least. I'm also hoping that he doesn't go overboard with the discipline till members of the team lose interest in working hard. I'm looking forward to seeing the team he would build here at camp Nou.

And with Xavi being a former Barca player, I think he will be able to handle the situation much better and have a better connection with his players. And the players will also respect Xavi as he is one of the legends of this very club. The player's morale should be better than before.

The situation will not change over night, it will take time before we can give any verdict. After taking over as the manager of Barcelona, Xavi began taking action, notably approving Dani Alves' return to Barcelona next week after Xavi approved it.
