Xavi Hernandez wants to extend Sergio Busquets contract to take advantage of his experience, but when he looks at his game it looks like it's time for Barcelona to let him go now. I don't think he's contributed much to the squad anymore. I compared him to Ibrahimovic at AC Milan, the difference is very significant in my opinion.
Ibrahimovic at AC Milan really builds motivation for other players, and I don't see the same in Sergio Busquets. I think it is not about him "not being enough" but more like him not being available and not continue his amazing year. Last year he played amazing and he won the award, however did he kept that up so far? He has been either not scoring like he did when he plays, or he is missing games due to injury. That is why I believe that it is normal for them to look for other strikers considering Benzema hasn't been himself.

If he kept it up like last year, and started the season with like 8-9 goals and 7-8 assists so far, which is not really unlikely considering how many games Real Madrid played so far and he wasn't injured, then they wouldn't look for another striker this easily neither.

They haven't felt the absence of a solid striker so far actually. Because they have done an amazing work with Benzema for a long time. He was like one of the best players in Europa last season. However he has been facing with an injury in this season and he couldn't make much contribution to the team.

However Real Madrid are still a very disciplined team that they have still done good in the absence of him. But I don't think this is sustainable. from last summer window, real madrid had been looking for players to replace benzema position when he was absent, but in fact their target was more to stay at his old club. but for this winter window I think the real madrid board will really focus on improving the front line and their target harry kane seems to be easy to get because harry kane is also reported to want to feel a trophy during his career as a football player because harry kane at tottenham is not  never felt a prestigious trophy. therefore real madrid chances of getting harry kane seem to be finding an easy way. the 90 million euro clause is not a big problem for real madrid because we know real madrid's finances have been quite good so far.

No top strikers want to spend time on the bench, unless they get injured. As long as Benzema is in a good condition, he surely will be the main option as a CF. Sure, it may be one of the reasons why some strikers don't want to join Real Madrid soon. However, everyone knows that Benzema can play in several positions, which means he can play together with a new striker. If Mbappe joins Real Madrid, I am sure they can play together. Benzema and Mbappe are quite similar, these players can play as a center-forward, left-winger, or right-winger.
