The reason is that they are now in 8th position and even have an impressive record in the last few matches. As hosts, Getafe will clearly be the favorite in this match and they must win if they want to overtake Real Betis in the standings. Barcelona despite having all those financial troubles it is now in a great performance no matter that lately they have made quite some mistakes in their recent games which will cost them a lot in the title fight.The Cinderella of La Liga is surely Girona and they still have good chances to fight hard to win the La Liga this year,they have to be more careful and not waste chances like they did in their last game where they equalized against I don't remember who.Real Madrid is one of those teams who can never be counted out to the title fight in here and most likely Atletico Madrid is there too.I think the title fight will be decided between these three teams most likely as Barcelona is for the moment not in a good position to fight for the title although not completely out of the title fight.

Its hard for manager actually to trust a young player when the table is getting very competitive which is what is happening right now. After Madrid are ahead with considerable gap on the table and things doesn't matters much, then manager might give him chances much more frequently. Right now Guler is out with injury and manager might wants to make things smoothly for Guler to settle up after a long term injury. There is no rush, Ancelotti has plenty of options and Guler is a massive talent so manager just wants to make sure that everything goes on smoothly.

Currently Real Madrid have no problem with their attacking lines because the players just like Rodrygo, Vinicius, Joselu or even Bellingham still able to performing well and scores goals for each matches so i am not sure Real Madrid will give their priority to gets new attackers this january and after end of this season Joselu loan duration will be expired and he will return to his team Espanyol so in my opinion Real Madrid will only buy new attackers next summer but not this january because buy new defender is more important than gets new attackers

I just heard the name you mentioned but for Varane actually I think it would still be very risky.
Indeed, in this case Varane was once in Madrid during his prime but now that's over, especially the injury problem has always been an obstacle for this player so why layer a defender with a player who is also vulnerable to injury because this will only increase the burden in the end.
