Looking back over their season results, it is rarer still for that to happen in back-to-back games. In fact, the last three times that the Hawks were in this spot they came back and saw combined points totals of 275, 251 and 233. The Hawks and Mavs combined to go 22-for-91 from 3-point range in that one and I don't think that will be the case in this game. Philadelphia is going to be without Ben Simmons, who went down five minutes into their game at Milwaukee on Saturday. They may also be without Tobias Harris, who is doubtful. That is plenty of offensive punch on the sidelines. However, as we have seen plenty of times, guys usually step their games up when star players go down. Beyond that, Simmons and Harris are two tough defenders and that will hurt the Sixers on that end as well.

Note, you have a South Carolina team that on the bounce-back in shooting despite scoring 80 points in their last game and Georgia who is starting to play better having won back to back games and who put up sub 60 points last game against South Carolina and therefore should bounce-back nicely here as this game likely goes Over the posted total here.

Utah has dropped all the way to the six spot in the West standings which would match them up with the Clippers in the first round so assuming they want to avoid that battle they need to get back on track. The Wiz are 7-21 on the road and going to Utah is never easy so this one looks like a Jazz run away win so go ahead and lay the number tonight.

Maryland is the best team in the Big 10 and they are riding high at the moment. They had no business beating Minnesota last time out, but they did and now see a regular season title well within sight. Michigan State has been one of the biggest disappointments this season and they continue to be ranked based on name recognition only. They lost to Maryland two weeks ago and things will be much tougher tonight in College Park. Maryland has the best starting line-up in the league and a win today will clinch at last a share of the Big 10 Championship. The Terrapins have won 10 of their last 11 games. Too much on the line for Maryland to take this game lightly and expect them to win it by 7-9 points. Michigan State is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games. Maryland is 39-17 ATS (4 pushes) in their last 60 games played on Saturday.

If you can browse through my free picks, most of them came from NBA and NCAA - College Basketball. Well, my picks are actually a seasonal thing. If one season ends, I usually jump to another sport where there is more value than the rest. These includes MLB, American Football and Ice Hockey. I also bet on Soccer from time to time. Basically, you can notice some variety on my picks.

Pick for March 1, 2020 (SUNDAY)

Match:  Wisconsin Badgers - Minnesota Golden Gophers

LOSS - PICK: TAKE the BADGERS -5.5 points for 1.25 UNITS (1.89 ODDS).

I don't see how Minnesota can pull itself off the mat after their crushing loss to Maryland earlier this week. That loss ended any realistic shot they had at trying to play their way into the NCAA Tournament. The Gophers dominated that game, leading by 17 points and holding a 14-point lead with under 10 minutes to play before losing on a last-second shot. Now they have to go on the road in one of the toughest places in the Big Ten for anyone to win. They are also facing a Badgers team that wants revenge for an 18-point beating they took on Feb. 5. The Badgers are quietly playing very well, winning five straight games. In fact, their only loss since January came in Minnesota. It's never pretty with Wisconsin. And I'd rather be getting points with them than laying points with them. But I don't know that Minnesota is mentally prepared for this game and I think the Badgers can take advantage.

As per your selection on Nashville, we don't mind going back to them in this spot as they take on an Oilers team who is in the ultimate letdown spot after beating Winnipeg at home on Saturday. The Oilers schedule does them no favors as they were away for three games, then home for that game against Winnipeg and now are on the road again for three, this time in the Central division. The Preds, on the other hand, will be desperate for this game as they will want to finish their five-game homestand taking 8 of a possible 10 points. They also owe the Oilers some payback after falling 3-2 on Feb 8th in Edmonton. The Preds still own a 14-3 record over the last 17 meetings and we like them get the win on home ice tonight. The Preds are 40-12 in their last 52 Monday games, while 5-2 in their last 7 games as a home favorite. The favorite in this series has also won 13 of the last 17 games. Give me Nashville.

The Kings are looking to claw their way into a playoff spot in the West, so they need every win with only 23 games remaining. They are sitting three and half games out with this stretch of seven of eight home games in front of them so its put up or shut up time in Sactown. Sacramento is going to need to play their best basketball in a long time to pass the Grizz and if they want to hold off San Antonio (.5 game behind them) they cannot afford any letdowns. Coming into this season the Kings were on a ton of radars to make that leap to the postseason but inconsistent play as well as injuries has made it tough to get any sort of roll going. This is a good spot to start winning some games and with two in a row already behind them this will be number three so lay the number.

After a five game winning streak the Thunder have dropped two straight in blowout fashion. Those games were to the Bucks and Clippers, however, two of the favorites to win their respective conference this season. But now they take a big step down in class in what is a game they really need. With two straight embarrassing losses they won't take this one for granted. The Pistons have lost their two stars and this team is just playing out the string and looking towards next season. This one should be a blowout with a motivated OKC team. The Thunder are 5-0 ATS after a double-digit loss at home and 5-0 ATS against an opponent with a home winning percentage less than .400. We think those trends continue tonight.

Stanford is in a bit of a letdown spot. They really played one of their best games of the year on Sunday against Colorado. I don't think that's going to translate to the road here. Tres Tinkle is playing his final two home games this weekend. And I think that this veteran Beavers squad will have the upper hand. Oregon State has lost four in a row. But they have been good enough to beat Colorado, Arizona and Oregon, so it is not as if they lack talent. Stanford may also be looking ahead to a bigger game with Oregon coming up this weekend. Finally, there is a reverse line movement in this game. Over half of the action is coming down on the Cardinal, but the line has actually moved from Stanford -1 to them +1. I think if you add it all up Oregon State is a savvy pick here.

Per this game, something special is going on here with Georgia Tech. They beat Clemson 68-59 in their last game in just 3 games ago but this game is likely to be higher scoring than that. That game was slated at 129 points and it went under but look for this one to go over for a variety of reasons the least of which is that Tech might sweep the season series from Clemson which is why they are just a 4 point underdog today. Note, that Tech is 10-9 in Conference Play and this is the first since 94-95 they will be above .500 in Conference Play and they beat Pittsburgh recently at home by 16 points and they even beat Louisville at home. Ga Tech had 18 turnovers last game and they still put up 73 points on a good defense and you have to think that Clemson who shot the ball so poorly against Va Tech, putting up 58 points, only shooting 1 free throw in the first half and at one point trailing by 17 points will show up today in a big way at home as they bounce-back and revenge against Tech. Ga Tech has a post-season ban as well and I think they will leave it out on the floor today, Clemson will show up as well and shoot much better and put it all together this game probably goes over the posted total today.

The Defenders were the talk of the league in the first two weeks but now find themselves at 2-2 and a home underdog this Sunday. That seems to me like an overreaction which you often find in lines from week to week. St. Louis has won 2 straight games but DC is 2-0 at home. Take the points in this game that will be close and low scoring. DC will win it straight up and getting points is just icing on the cake.

We roll with the Under here and though it seems a bit scary here we think there is a decent chance that this game goes Under. Note, that you have a Bucks/Nuggets team that went well over the posted total last time around as the game went to 242 points and the Nuggets won by 12 points on the road and you have to think that the Bucks want some revenge here and quality defense. This is a Bucks team that cranks out a huge defensive effort when they need to and I suspect that is what will happen here after they gave up 130 points last game. Plus, the Bucks just lost 131-140 to the Suns which has to infuriate the team in the fact they not only lost but also gave up a staggering 140 points. Note, the Bucks were likely hungover from the Lakers game where they lost by 12 points in that game and then they lost immediately after to the Suns and now have to face a tough Nuggets team. I think Milwaukee understands they do not want to lose 3 in a row, will show up big time on defense here, have Boston on deck and then you combine this with Denver coming off a loss to the lowly Cavs as well and what you likely get here is a strong defensive performance by both teams as this game goes Under.

Western Sydney are winless in their last two matches losing 3-1 at Brisbane Roar after a four-match unbeaten run. This four-match run was a brief peak for the eighth-place team who are 22 points back of their Friday opponents. At home, Western Sydney have just one win in their last seven-matches, while Sydney FC are on a four-match away winning streak and are unbeaten in their last seven away matches.
