Yea, sadly NaVi managed to drop a map, as I was afraid. However, all NaVi ML bets were a win.
They are now in the upper quarterfinals.

OG vs. NaVi.

Which team you are going to?
Wow, I think I was left behind with the update of dota2 tournament. It has been a while I was not able to watch tournament games in dota2 and this is the game I played a lot before compared to cs half life or now known as csgo. Whatever, Navi and OG are both good teams and in this case if you will going to ask me which team could win in this match then I will be for OG. They had made such reputation when they win the largest pot prize rewarded to  them when they win the interbational league and not onmy once they proved to themselves but twice.
We will see who will be the match-winner but the majority is for OG. Two time TI champs.

I've read your analysis and we have the same picks. 2 hours to go for OG vs Navi while 5 hours for Team Secret vs Nigma.

Good luck to your bets.

Edit: Navi advances to upper bracket round 2.

OG was sent to losers bracket.

I'm not expecting that or did I just underestimate Navi.

Well, that really means that every team is strong in their own categories. Who could be easier for OG, Vikin.GG or Alliance. Still both strong teams whichever will go down to the lower bracket.

has anyone ever compared the odds of Esport matches with those of normal matches, and also to what extent the result roughly matches the offer?
1.90 odds should for example be 50-50 in the results, is that also the case with Esports, I am very curious about this.

LOL, so if I were betting for OG then I am already loss with OG, I was a fan of then because of their great achievement and even winnings. They too had great plays and great combo but it seems that the match against Navi is not enough for them to advance in the league. However, win or lose I am still with OG team and that wi still follow their next match of the game.

What team next scheduled for.a match? So that we can discuss too with the other team that could possibly win and advance in the next few rounds

Hmm, I got the point and I see what you are saying. But I would say that generally betting on esports is much harder, and in a lot of cases odds are not showing the real picture. Let's just say that in a much more cases underdogs can win in esports compared to sports.

Well OG is really strong on paper, but they are still so unstable. Their performance can vary a lot and sometimes they just disappoint.

OG vs Alliance and Nigma vs loser of Liquid / mudgolems are scheduled for tomorrow. This should be pretty interesting. I think OG ML + Mudgolems if they lose to Liquid.

I am sure you can find some information on the internet about it, if you study it. Depends also what you want to achieve with it? Do you want to use ir to place bets or just curiosity?
It is always nice that these Esports are continue with it, even in corona situation they were able to play. That is the big advantage.

betting on esports is much harder

Its harder always to pick the winner due to the larger amount of upsets in the era of online games.   I lament the loss of LANS as they were most reliable matches or series of matches to bet on.  So the volatility of results is up but the flip side to that is underdog bets more often pay off, I guess I should be happy about that but its always hard to know when so I'll have to be braver on making that leap.
1.90 is the 50/50 odds because some of the cut is the house take so thats how it appears.

Yea, that's true. Esports betting, especially CS:GO, was much easier before COVID-19 situation when we had LAN events and all kinds of offline events. Teams prepared specially for that kind of events. Now, when everybody is playing from their chair at home, situation is kinda different. A lot of upsets are happening, players are not playing in competitive environment and there are a lot of psychic problems, performance problems etc... So for that reason mentality of a players and team changed a lot. They had to adjust to new situation, and most of them didn't take it good. Some tournaments / matches are taken too lightly and surprises are happening. Scene is very unstable now and it's very hard to be. That's my opinion.

I only started betting on eSports after covid stopped all regular sports so I am not familiar with LAN scene and results at that time. This online tournaments are all I have ever seen so maybe I even have some small advantage of not being influenced by previous results. I find it quite easy to get value odds both in CS and DOTA. I bet mainly on underdogs to get 1 map and that has worked well for me.  I even have better results betting on eSports than football in this last month. Never thought I would write those words.

betting on esports is much harder

I'm into esports even before this virus, I've seen how the tournament vibes changes because of the hype the audience creates in the venue. However, I don't really see the lack of competitiveness they are talking about. Those players grew up playing online even in their own house, and pro players are still competitive whenever there's a game. Maybe we can't feel it cause there's not so much hype with the audience. Some of the pro players are together inside their bootcamp too. So maybe esports during this time is less hype compared to before but the pro players are still competetive just like before. I've seen it from other esports too, not just in CS and Dota 2.

Yes, but usually big offline events make players more competitive. Bigger prize pools, bigger risks, bigger stakes and insane crowds. It's quite different to play in such environment. Hype is bigger too, together with all the numbers. Of course we can't know exactly, how the players feel right now or how do they feel before. I guess it's easier for CS:GO player to stay at home, play the game, don't travel a lot, don't have too much stress and earn $40k / month.

No hype in a specific event because tournaments are implemented online and we can only support them through chat or any social media platforms. There are no huge differences between LAN and online as pro players are still doing their best to win the game. If you have faith and you knew that they're strong and doing well in the series, bet on them.

Before entering a pro league, those players are already in the online scene, streaming and playing competitively to get higher ranks. As long as you're playing with good communication, it will not ruin your gameplay since it has no difference, add the pressure when you're in an actual LAN tourna.

The new setup doesn't affect them, it's clear that all of them have the same situation, they're all at disadvantage and some are taking it as an advantage. In the end, it still the same esports league, the winners are the strongest.

[DOTA 2] After almost 3 days off, ESL One Germany 2020 continues. The upper bracket round 2 is scheduled for Wednesday. We will watch 2 matches with top European teams. The best 4 teams for now in this competition will fight for the upper bracket finals. Let’s analyze the matches and predict the winners.

Secret - Mudgolems: Secret -1.5, 1.33 @ MY BETSLIP

Team Secret and Mudgolems will open round 2 of the upper bracket. Team Secret is definitely the best European Dota 2 team by a mile, at least at the moment. It’s interesting to mention that Team Secret are the only squad in this competition that didn’t drop a single map in the group stage. Three 2-0 results for the easy spot in the playoffs. There, they faced Team Nigma in round 1. They won that match 2-1, but Nigma managed to take a map off Secret, and that surprised us all. Nigma is surely one of the strongest EU teams, but they are not showing it currently. And they are the first team to drop out of the playoffs. If Nigma took a map off Secret, I wonder if Mudgolems can too. Let me remind you that Mudgolems crushed Team Nigma with a clean 2-0 in the group stage. They are surely one of the hottest young stacks in Europe, the real underdogs of the tournament. And I can’t say anything against them. They are delivering it, as their performance is constantly shocking and surprising their opponents. In the playoffs round 1, they managed to take down Team Liquid with 2-1. Really impressive performance and win for them. However, I don’t think that Mudgolems are ready for Team Secret. Secret is just a few levels above every other team. Too experienced, with the best captain in the world, they are surely a mountain to climb for Mudgolems. Even if it’s a very risky bet, I do think Team Secret can take this match 2-0 easily. It can happen that Mudgolems can shine and take a map off, but I think there is a lesser chance for that compared to Secret -1.5 handicap.

Natus Vincere - ViKin.gg: Natus Vincere, 1.60 @ MY BETSLIP

This can potentially be a much more interesting match then the first one. CIS vs EU is always an interesting battle. Even though NaVi is favoured here, I do think this match can potentially be really close. In the end I would still favour NaVi. Let me explain why. Both NaVi and Vikin.gg ended up their group stage run with 3 wins and 2 losses. They’ve barely qualified for the playoffs in their 5th, deciding group stage match. NaVi had a pretty easy way to qualify for the playoffs. Basically, they’ve beat 3 weak CIS squads. While Vikin.gg managed to take down NiP with 2-1 in their decider match. That was their strongest win in the group. Basically, neither of the teams impressed me with their play. However, in the playoffs both teams stepped up their play. NaVi managed to take down OG 2-1, while Vikin.gg surprisingly managed to take down Alliance with a clean 2-0. And now, here we are. I would say those teams have a lot of similarities, but let’s focus on staff that differ them from each other. NaVi is more focused on individual strength with carries like V-Tune, Iceberg and General. Their individual strength and quality is not questionable. On the other side, I would say that Vikin.gg’s players have less individual quality, but they have better team play and awareness. For that reason, they are doing amazingly good. However, Dota 2 is currently in a stage where individual quality often makes big differences. Of course paired with good draft and hero picks. If top NaVi’s players get good hero picks and drafts, for example V-Tune and his Morph, I do think that Vikin.gg will have a lot of problems with that and they will eventually fall. For that reason, I fancy going to NaVi ML here. If you are not into ML play, try going Over 2.5 maps. Three maps are highly anticipated here.

I'm really surprised when I saw a post that the Secret been defeated in the upper bracket, this is the time to appreciate the team of Mudgolems because they are the ones to beat the secret in the upper bracket in the past and recent series in DOTA 2. I'm sure that a lot of people are aware that the secret is the number 1 team in DOTA 2 because of their 3-0 sweep in the past championship in every DOTA 2 series. I think there will be a rematch between secret and mudgolems in the finals. I really expected to see the crazy drafting of the secret. It is a 20 series win streak after all so a lot of people for sure been surprised on what happen to the secret. Maybe the momentum finally ended but still they the Team secret so for sure they will do crazy thing and we will able to see high quality DOTA 2.
