I bought some Qora today. I think now is the time for the community if they do have any spare coins and want to get the price moving to buy. We must work together and not argue even if idiots are on here dividing us.

I took it into my own hands as there seems to be zero marketing or even any communication about the coming AE in Qora, so sad how this coin is being handled.

Can people at the very least go and post a bit on these two threads so they stay a bit visible.

Good, I'm not the best to do it, but I thought a crap thread is better than no thread.  can I make an open suggestion to those who want people to help tell people about Qora. Make a thread related to Qora and post on it. When a coin is hot it has tons of of threads. I would argue even if it gets a load of arguments and FUDs it keeps Qora in the conversation which at the moment we aren't in.

Best to use
Installer/deinstaller: https://github.com/angryziber/ipscan
Using these tools, it is possible to build on any platform. The binaries are in the form of .jar files and can be run with `java
-jar <jar-file>'. Deb and rpm packages can only be built on Linux. exe file can be created for building of Windows.

ASIC-8Tile,

Are you a Java developer? I'd like to share with you what I'm thinking.

Stay with the current design (desktop instead of browser-based), but make it simpler for newcomers. We can create a windows executable or an one-click installer using launch4j or JWS, we will create a windows EXE with its own private JRE (or embedded JRE) to make Qora look like a native windows application. It'll be more appealing to newbies and windows crowd alike.

You should concentrate your effort on improving the current GUI (speaking of which, I'm not really a fan of NXT-style wallet).

Thanks for the effort though. You have my respect and admiration.  Smiley

PS: I'm guessing Skerberus probably used a program like InstallShield to make the packaged installer. But we can go one step further and use launch4j to make an executable with embedded JRE. It'll be much better than a simple installer in my opinion.

I used Advanced Installer and my installer contained an embedded jre too! Never heard of launch4j, but looks very nice thanks for the hint. The problem is that the trust issue is still there if qora does not build the executable himself. Launch4j looks pretty easy, so maybe qora will build an executable with it for us.

By far the easiest way would be if qora creates another standalone zip which contains a portable java and changes the run.bat to "%~dp0\java\bin\java.exe" -Xmx256m -Djava.library.path=libs/native -jar Qora.jar
Then unzipping alone should do the job for every windows! user.

Wow!  I just withdrew ~25M from Bter.  Before Bter finished refreshing the page, the transaction appeared in my transaction list within the QORA client.  I'm not kidding.  That's the fastest I've seen a crypto-transaction appear in my ledger and I've been around a long time.

+1 Qora (the coin and the dev.)

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011:
"I'd be willing to make a moderate "investment" if the value of the BTC went below $2.00.  Otherwise I'll just have to live with my 5 BTC and be happy. :/"  ...sigh.  If only I knew.

So megashira1 is a sockpuppet account of TaunSew?  Aren't you two both NEM stakeholders as well?  Smiley

Looks like utopianfuture is at it again.  Smiley  He had made a habit of attacking coins that were in the 2nd-gen race and were potential threat to NEM.  I always thought he might be behind Kora project.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion, Mr. UtopianFuture.  Wink Well played in the case of Qora though.  Cheesy

PS: It's funny how he managed to expose himself again -- forgetting to log off your socketpuppet accounts much?  Cheesy Cheesy

Big supporter of Ora?  Why do you think that?

Qora was bad enough that Kora (Ora) came in to tackle the issues within Qora and one way of doing that was issuing a distribution to 1000 stakeholders and attracting developer talent.

Yes.  I have a stake in Ora.  Which is what like a market value of $40?  No one shills for that little.  I don't shill for anything.  If I support something then it's because of the potential and promise within.  There's more potential in Ora than in Qora, so why would I spend precious capital on a Qora coin which might flop and cease to exist in 10 months?

yes I can confirm Megashire1 is not a sockpuppet or is Taunsew. They are not the same people but they both are very great and nice people who everyone should listen to because they know a lot about all things and also coins and have invested in NEM because it's number one, best coin, Qora is no good. Thankyou.

逗比,就别秀自己的英语了吧!以为秀英语就看不出你是中国人了,在老外面前丢人现眼。早在哪里的,便宜的时候不买,涨了又在这里做空,有意思吗?现在不买,AE出来了,你继续叫吧。 Grin
