According to http://cpucoinlist.com/ GPU advantage for GRS is 4.9. Does that match with current CPU miner on Haswell? If not - can someone contact maintainer of the list and get that corrected?

Dear Dwarf miners and Atrides personally!

Your pool has 7.4 gigahash out of 12.7 gigahash.

This is bad because of the 51% vulnerability.

Please spread the hash asap [move to other pools].

Thank you

I pulled all the numbers from settings spreadsheet. The calculations are on the bottom of this page.

I usually use the AMD-FX8320 as reference CPU because I have one. In this case, I used FX8350 because it was on the sheet.

Is there a new miner that makes the calcs incorrect?

hi, please consider, dwarves take less than 50% last time, you can see it on graphs on the pool. Our shown hashrate 7.2Ghs is roughly approximate! it is not comparable with the formula in wallet, just like the other pools show. In fact we have 40-45%

cryptohunger.com - 2Ghs
cpu-pool.net - 5.85Ghs
suprnova - 1.65
coinmine - 0.46
5limi - 0.1
-----= 10Ghs
+ Dwarfpool 7.2

Total-----= 17Ghs

Wallet shows total 13Ghs

the second important thing is that on dwarfpool are much less users than on the other pools (compare hunger 270, cpu 500, dwarf 110!) just because many of them are "largehash"-miners, but when one was gone today, dwarf got about 35% at once. By leaving another one-two top-miners, we'll stay with 5-10% FOREVER thanks the fact you removed my pool from your list, so that no one new miner will even know that we exist!

Hi Atrides!

No, as soon as you have 30% or less, I'll add you back to the groestlcoin.org list.
But you need to understand, 51% attack is a big deal. And it has happened to other coins.

Nothing personal.

Thanks

I know we can do better than that. How about using an Intel chip, see http://www.groestlcoin.org/pools/ for some benchmarks. Any use?
also our list has been sorely neglected and requires updating.

Can u guys chime in pls and give btc-mike what he needs to place our higher in this ranking which clearly it deserves!

thanks all

so what about cpu-pool having more than 35-40% at the moment?

sure 51attack is big deal to the worthy coin, while the other coins you are speaking about died in no case due to such an attack, this is a suit pretext of their devs just to shift the blame onto someone, but because they didnt get the real issues and sense of coin

Fair point. cpu-pool is now also removed from the list.

I use r9 280x and FX-8320 as reference. I then make the GPU Advantage calculation like this:

GPU Advantage = GPU Hash Rate / CPU Hash Rate

In GroestlCoin's case, I used a better CPU's hash rate because it was easy at the time. I will run the miner on my machine this afternoon to get the actual hash rate for the AMD FX-8320 using yvg1900's yam M7r. I will also write a how-to.

51% attacks to one side, investors like to see a well distributed hashrate.
Anyway I'm confident dwarfpool will be relisted soon Wink

Is there a better miner software for GPU mining than the one on the download page?
I seem to be having problems with this version of SGminer.
I have 2 PCs, each with 2 HD7950s in them.

For some reason on each, after about 5 minutes of mining, one GPU on each stops accepting shares and then the miner restarts itself.

This keeps happening over and over. Sad
(I think CGwatcher sees it as a sick GPU)

Thanks!

Hi Atrides!

Thank you for your latest interest to GroestlCoin.

I wish you had more time for us when I asked you how to implement stratum mining for GroestlCoin (2 times in this thread, PM in BTC talk, and email on your pool page). It took me about 2 weeks to figure out myself. The time that I could have spent implementing other features like Android wallet / miner.

Thank you

I have those in my .bat.
Also my config looks like this:

{
"pools" : [
        {
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://grs.cpu-pool.net:3650",
                "user" : "Firebird2000.Rig1",
                "pass" : "1"
        }
]
,
"intensity" : "20",
"kernel" : "groestlcoin",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "21712",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"gpu-engine" : "1150",
"auto-fan" : true,
"auto-gpu" : true,
"gpu-fan" : "30-85",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"temp-overheat" : "80",
"temp-cutoff" : "85"
}

I seems to work great for about 5 minutes.
Then 1 gpu hashrate starts dropping right off.
The other stays perfect. This is happening on both of my machines.
Just can't figure out why.

It kinda looks like 1 of the gpus on each machine is getting 90% of the work, so the other just dies out and looks sick. So CGwatcher restarts the miner.

Thanks.
