I don't think Lyon can beat Lille in such condition. I mean they had huge difficulties in doing that even while they were having a better season previously. Lille were the better playing side in that game but Lyon still won by 1-0 home. But now the situation is really worrisome for Lyon. That win over Rennes wasn't even easy one.

Because despite Rennes' getting a very early red card Lyon still had big difficulties. They even let the game become more balanced in the second half. I can't trust this Lyon for betting as a result. But I wouldn't bet on Lille either as a similar scenario might happen and it would find me. 

Lyon this season has really slumped based on its performance. They only achieved 1 win in 11 matches, and that was because they had a 1 player advantage since the first half. Lyon's defense was very poor, while the performance of the attackers was also not very good. Lyon have only been able to score 9 goals in 11 matches, while they have conceded 19 goals so far.

I think Lyon could be relegated this season if they don't recover from this slump quickly, but it won't be as easy as turning the palm of the hand. Lyon will have to invest more in their players in the next transfer window to improve their squad depth, but fixing the current player performance and confidence issues is the main focus of the coach. I'm not sure what the biggest problem is this season, but they've been really bad.

No chance for marseille to enter into the title race. The club can only finish at the middle position. Marseille can go up as long as it will get winstreak which is quite impossible at this moment. Lens is struggling at league 1 but it has better performance in UCL.
I think that lens put UCL as the main aim caused by the club can farm money from there instead of french league which is still running till next year. Lens was beating marseille with narrow score.

The game between lens vs marseille was quite boring with only around 5 shots on target in total being made in this match. I don't like this kind of match when two teams were playing passively without even try to explore it even more to get the weakness spot of its opponent.
Aubameyang is a useless striker right now. No doubt if there was no big european club that was willing to take him anymore. he has lost his prime

Marsielle has been performing in their league but they just haven't been performing well, they're in the bottom section of the table and they've undoubtedly been struggling to secure wins. Their counterpart Lens have been performing better in the UCL than their domestic league, for me they'd have focused their time, strength and ability on their domestic league where they'd even have more possibilities of securing a good spot than the Champions league where there'd be struggling to even secure a spot in the round of 16 without talking of the other subsequent stages in the contest.
 
 Marsielle should build up themselves more to stay on track in the league, they still have enough time ahead of them and positive outcomes can be actualized, but then it can't be actualized if they don't put in more effort on the pitch to get better than they're doing currently.

I guess nobody nobody thought the table would be looking like this for Olympique Lyon after 11 games, but this trend looks so bad for them that I also doubt that they will recover from that. Because this is not just about bad results, but about having the second weakest offense of the league. 7 points after eleven games doesn't look like an outlier that will soon be corrected. This could a fierce fight until the last day against the relegation zone.

Lyon's recent form makes it clear that they are in a difficult situation. Their problem is more complex (possibly even internal) than a few poor performances. Only one victory in eleven games is a clear sign that something is wrong. That internal conflict that they have must be solved, maybe a new owner would be a lot better, it would make sense for the club because we are talking about someone who could takeover the club and spend money and hire the right people. I do not know who owns it right now, but it's obvious that they are not doing a good job at it and they should be avoiding that owner as much as possible.

No team like that should be playing like this, they are really doing terrible and I feel like the best thing to do right now would be just avoiding the situation as much as possible. I get that money is a trouble, so finding a richer owner would make it even better for them on the long run and allow them to make it a bigger club for sure.

But do you really think the players have a button that they can push so they instantly focus less on the Champions League, just let it go and lose there in order to more focus on the domestic league? Isn't that nonsense in your opinion? Players give everything they have for a whole year, celebrate that they managed to qualify for the Champions League and then you think they sit together with the coach and say: let's dump the Champions League and play at 70% so we can give more of our energy for Ligue 1?

Definitely that's not the case, no one would want to at any point think such because I think every football lover would definitely know that there's a dynamics to these things and it's not about the players been told or controlled to focus more on one league as against the other,it's basically tactics at times.

But some times based on priority, coaches may sometimes try out certain tactics in some of the leagues and wouldn't use same in the others, like the champions league which happens to be very competitive and it's amongst teams drawn from different leagues, definitely the approach will differ from that which will be used in their domestic leagues because there's a pattern that varies across different leagues and that's why sometimes it will look as if focus was redirected.

It can't be a benchmark because in the end winning with superior numbers of players will only be considered as a fairness in this case but at least with the 3 points they managed to get in the match against Rennes last week this can improve their spirit which is quite bleak because they never get a victory in the first 10 matches they do. Facing Lille this could be a very tough test again but they have good momentum so don't let momentum like this be damaged again with a defeat so as much as possible they should try to make this a point even if they can't make 3 points if it's too difficult but they have to force a draw so that their performance does not decline again after gaining momentum.

 They'll be facing a team that's currently top four in the league and i doubt if they'll be able to win the game even though they'll be facing Lille with a home advantage, Lyon might have won Rennes but Lille is  stronger side and would really pressure pressure Lyon more to get the three points.

Yes but imagine you are the coach of Lens and you have this once in a lifetime chance, not only the players, but also the coach, to play agains the best teams in the world and then achieve the biggest dream ever and advance into the next round of the Champions League. I have not the slightest doubt that every coach on this planet would do the very best for the team and with the team to make it happen. There is no priority on Ligue 1 when you can advance to the next round in the biggest international football competition on the club level in the world.

Meanwhile, Nice will only compete against weak clubs like Toulouse, who have only got 2 wins since the start of the season, so it is very easy for Nice to get 3 points which can shift PSG's position.

The game between Paris Saint Germaine and Monaco will be a very interesting match to watch because of how impressive the two teams have been this season in the French Ligue 1.
Monaco who are currently in the third position trailing league leaders with just three points knows that a win in that game will take them to the same number of points with Paris Saint Germaine.
That being said, I expect the league leaders to win that game because if how strong they are and the fact that they'll be playing at home in front of their home fans.

It's really amazing how a club like Olympic Lyon is rocking the bottom of the table at the relegation zone, I mean Olympic Lyon have been of great impact to France ligue 1 over the years. Players like Michael Essien was groomed in Olympic Lyon before joining Chelsea where he recorded huge success, how about Karim Benzima he was also brought up in Olympic Lyon before he joined Real Madrid and achieved a great result. It baffles me that a great team like Olympic Lyon is at the bottom of the tables after playing 11 matches, won just one match, drew 4 and lost 6 matches.

Sometimes one thing that affects a club performance is selling most of their key players as the selling of their two players namely Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes in 2022 was a very big loss to them and hence their poor performance. I was expecting to see better results for this team but unfortunately, in the 11 games, we saw in the French league Olympic Lyon won only one game in the last week against Rennes. Even if Olympic Lyon buys some players during the winter I think this team can't be in the Ligue 1 for the next season with the current situation they have.

PSG versus Monaco is something that will probably be a lot closer than some people are thinking, to be honest. Because I think both of the teams have the capability of winning this match for sure. I understand that in terms of quality, PSG is better than Monaco. But if Monaco can walk away with at least one point from this match, I don’t think it is going to be surprising.

Yes, Nice's draw in their last match allowed Paris Saint Germain to dislodge them from the top of the table. It's disapointing when Nice can only draw against a club that can't really be said to be strong either.
Monaco is a tough opponent for Paris Siant Germain, Monaco has the potential to win points from Paris Saint Germain headquarters in the upcoming match. They should be wary of the visitors even though they are on a very good run in Ligue 1, apart from their Champions League defeat to AC Milan.

Nice drew goalless with Montpellier. This is why the team has to lose the top spot. I know the Montpellier team is not strong. However, I am not at all surprised to see such a result in this match. Because I don't think the Nice team is very strong. I was actually a bit annoyed to see this team at the top of the table.

Nice team scored only 13 goals in 12 matches. The team held the top spot in the table only because of their strong defence. Their offensive performance is quite poor. Monaco, who are third in the points table, have scored 25 goals in 12 matches. I think only Monaco can stay in the title fight with PSG this season.

They're not not strong, but they don't have very good goal productivity so that's going to hold them back in the games they play, and one of them in this game forced them into a draw. Their defense is strong, but it's not matched by a strong attack.
If they continue like this and don't make any changes then don't be surprised when they will be further displaced in the standings. In the transfer market they must bring in players who can answer all their deadlocks in attack until this week. That is one opportunity for them to take advantage of.

PSG is favored with odds @ 1.51 and AS Monaco gets odds @ 5.60, if PSG's attackers can appear consistent they should be able to score more than two goals and Mbappe, who successfully scored a hat trick in the previous match, will be expected to contribute again in this match.

Buying the new player will not be working. Lyon totally needs a new coach and players. Buying the new player while still keep the old coach will not give significant impact to the club. Lyon was wrongly fabio grosso as a new appointment while the club needs a good coach. Gross was bad and look at the current position of lyon. Im not sure if grosso will able to change the situation in the club by buying the new players. I think that just give him some times. I do believe lyon will come back stronger.
