We enter week 4 for matches in Ligue 1. PSG still dominate the top of the table with 9 points from their 3 consecutive wins. Below them we see Lens, Marseille, Lille and Auxerre with 7 points each. In the last match PSG also made a very impressive result against Lille (Lille 1 - 7 PSG).

Tomorrow we'll also see a very crucial match between PSG and AS Monaco, I choose not to bet if these two teams compete, it is very difficult to predict. Who do you think will win?

I have noticed an important change in PSG's formation this season. As you can remember, Pochettino was preferring a formation with 4 defenders. 4-3-3 was the most used formation by him. However this has changed with Galtier's arrival. He preferred 3 defenders in all of the league matches so far. Marquinhos, Kimpembe and Ramos have made a good trio there. Since this preference, PSG scored conceded only 3 goals while scoring 17 goals.

We see a more attacking-oriented formation as a result and the trio of Messi-Mbappe-Neymar have a bigger responsibility about scoring more goals than the previous season. So far there is no problem but the most important thing is to maintain the same effort in the Champions League as well. Galtier must be under pressure to win the Champions League this season. It is evident that Monaco is not going to be a simple opponent for PSG. It is very likely that the match will start very soon. It is still my opinion that PSG should be able to win this match. It would be a major mistake if they did not count Monaco as a challenging opponent. It's no secret that Monaco was able to show very good performances during the last season, and I believe they are going to be able to do something similar this season as well. This means that PSG might have to be careful. It is true that PSG is a very strong team, but Monaco has shown that it can also surprise. There is no doubt that PSG is in excellent form at the moment. So I am sure that it will be no problem for PSG to handle this situation. I believe that if they can get a good start as they did in the last match, it will be an easy match for PSG in my opinion.

Strong enough for what? If Lille aims at becoming second in the league they are all set. I guess any club behind PSG is just trying to qualify for the champions league and that's it. I don't expect PSG to run into any serious issues whatsoever.

It might turn out to be a pitfall for PSG if they don't have serious competitors. The way Lille lost the game against PSG doesn't really allow for any hope. We might see a change in the dominance when PSG needs to play all competitions simultaneously.

I agree that second is the best that they can do, but even that doesn't look like it could be possible unless they can get some consistency. I remember the year they became champions they had very good players but at the end of the year they lost a few of their players and that caused a bit of a trouble.

So long story short we are talking about Lille being good for sure, and could be second, but they are not "all set" right now, they need to be more consistent with how they play, look at the year they became champions and look at last year and look at now, that is wildly volatile just like crypto and they can't be like that, it would definitely hurt their chances, they look like a team that could be second or fifth to be fair, anything is possible.

That's always the biggest problem smaller clubs have to fight with. Teams like PSG have the bench with top players sitting around waiting for their chance. The smaller teams often have only 13 - 14 strong players (if at all) and if they have injuries or red cards it starts looking bad for them right away. In order to compete with a team like PSG you really need to be able to substitute a loss in quality sufficiently with another player or otherwise you won't be able to stay close to PSG (unless they have a very bad season).

PSG will have another amazing win because Monaco has been quite bad team and I am expecting that they will have like a huge win again. I do not think that 7 goals is that common and maybe that won't happen, but for the time being 7 isn't even that out of discussion, it could totally happen. All in all I am expecting a good win, can't say how much and if it is not a clear win for PSG today then I would be super shocked.

Weirder stuff happened in football so I wouldn't say that it is impossible for them to get a draw or a loss, but do you really expect that? I could wager on 3.5+ goals and get a big win here, that is not bad odds if you check, even 4.5 is available, that could be valuable.

PSG have an odd around 2.30 to win now. I think it is pretty tempting. Because I still believe in PSG to make a comeback actually. This happened to Manchester City also in the first half against C. Palace but we all saw that incredible comeback by Manchester City. There is nothing holding PSG back from doing so here. Galtier would ask for the trio to pull themselves together in the second half.
