Most chances PSG will stay at top and then Marseille is going to stay at second spot which is regularly happening in French League even right now we have few more teams which are doing good job, but sadly these are not consistent which is having quality difference between top two and others but Monaco which was average in start of this season now having good fight back and after three matches win they are at fifth but Lorient and Lens are also having good time with their performance which is good signal for top rank teams hopefully after break we will have some interesting competition at top which give good entertainment and good fight at top.

Lyon were also doing good job but suddenly lost of three matches in a row having big drop in their place few teams which were very good in last season having the worst time with down in ranks and having poor start of this season is also giving them headache, but hopefully things could be clear in coming weeks.

First of all, a strong squad is needed to win the title. At the same time, the players on the bench have to be talented enough. Because if an important player of the team faces injury, the team needs a qualified replacement. Otherwise, the team will not be able to consistently perform well. PSG don't need serious challengers to win the title, the weaker the other teams in the league the more chances PSG have to win the title, but actually the competition can get better every season especially because Ligue 1 also needs a good ranking in Europe.

Marseille's form so far has been very good and many expect them to be the most serious title challenger this season apart from PSG. The conditions are not much different from last season, but Marseille must maintain consistency. However, PSG still has a great chance to stay at the top.

To my surprise bookies rate PSG as the second top contender to win the Champions League with 5.55 odds (Manchester City are the top contender with 2.85 odds). It seems to me that making predictions (or betting) in a tournament where there are elimination games is a rather pointless exercise, but the odds of the bookmakers show that most specialists rate PSG very highly. Although, on the other hand, Barcelona, which has not yet proved its strength with strong opponents, is estimated not much worse - 11.80.

Might even be surprising to you to learn that City, Bayern and PSG have been the top 3 favourites in the past 3 editions of Champions League, leaving out Real Madrid every season despite them appearing and winning in finals. Liverpool I always feel are rightly below top 3, despite also making 3/5 finals.

Now I understand that's because Bayern and PSG don't have good domestic competition, so bookies probably account for them being fresher in Europe, but City? Squad depth? Mega team?

If we've learnt anything from the past 5 season: don't bet on the top 3 favs.

Another factor due to which bookmakers give such odds to the favorites is the crowd that bets a lot of money on the favorites - bookmakers cannot take risks and give "real" odds, because if the favorite suddenly wins, the bookmaker may be in the red. It turns out that it is profitable to bet on a 4-8 team? What do you think? Plus, I'm sure that if you make such bets at the beginning of the draw, then during the tournament there will be opportunities to hedge the bet.

Apart from Ligue 1, you can see the same conditions in the Bundesliga. PSG lead the table for excellent team strength, while the same can be said of Bayern Munich for each season.

PSG has a boss who really wants to make this team the best. The other teams didn't have that much power, so it really wouldn't be good since the competition wasn't on that level only resulted in the single most dominant candidate.

However it depends on the financial status of the team too. They have spent too much money recently so I wonder if they will be in some trouble at the end of this season. If PSG lose one player from their trio then this would affect them really deeply for their Champions League title goal. Therefore they should do everything they can to win it this season for the first time in their history.

Yes, they are very different when compared to Paris Saint Germain, they not only lost in terms of players, money, also all aspects that the team needs. This makes it difficult for us to find competitive competition here. How is it possible that a team that doesn't have everything that Paris Saint Germain has will be able to provide stiff competition. I can't think of that in Ligue 1 competition.

Losing one player in the trio is bad only if their combination is good for PSG. If they have conflicts with each other and their combination is not too good, perhaps missing one player can be better.

Fortunately, likely that we are seeing better combination and connection between them after the drama from Mbappe. Whether they can succeed, it will depend on how they maintain it in Champions League.
