Lyon has been given until the end of the season by the Direction Nationale du Controle de Gestion (DNCG) to sort out their financial mess including the club debts, failing which they are threatened with relegation to Ligue 2. It seems that John Textor as the majority shareholder, must sell the club to a Middle Eastern businessman, as a step to save Lyon from bankruptcy and relegation. It is not as easy as it sounds, but if Lyon is acquired by a Middle Eastern businessman, they can recover quickly and will be like PSG.

I think selling the club to prospective investors from the middle east or wherever would be the best alternative right now, but come to think of it, are there no billionaire investors in France or Europe that could acquire the french outfit? Or perhaps the club executives could also go into a deal or something similar with what Barcelona did with Spotify thereby retaining some percentage of the club and leaving some to their partners, that way everybody would have a stake in club instead of allowing the club face drastic measures by being relegated at the end.

Finally, the end of the circus. The owner of Lyon must sell his club to the new owners who wanting to acquire the club and pay its debt. I do agree with you to sell this club to the Saudis, but the only problem is that no commitment has came from Saudis to acquire Lyon.

I think no billionaire investors in europe wanna acquire this club caused by it will be relegated at the end of season as per the DNCG's statement, and got a transfer ban as well. It's hard to find the new owner for this club in this situation.

Plus, there isn't just middle eastern club owners that have the money, they could sell to someone else too. INEOS ended up buying United, it wasn't some middle eastern person, not like they are the only rich people in the world, there are plenty of rich people all over the world, Inter used to be owned by a Chinese, Liverpool used to be owned by an American (now Chelsea is) and Chelsea used to be owned by Russians. So we can see that people all over the world looking to buy teams, hell even Ryan Reynolds owns a team in Wales lol.

So Lyon just needs to find a buyer, doesn't matter where from, in fact I believe the new owner should get a proper discount because of the situation Lyon is in, and then they need to be aware of the fact that they need to pay some of the debts. There was some doubts in the beginning of the season with the departure of Kylian Mbappe but it turns out to have less impact than expected. By the way, the impact of Mbappe isn't either very positive with Real Madrid.
Anyway, PSG is dominating the league again thank to the quality of the squad and again the failure of its direct rivals. Marseille is weaker than previous years and Monaco and Lille aren't that stable either.

If you are speaking about the dominance of PSG, i don't actually see that ending any soon because i know staying ahead by six point is a good one enough to keep PSG in a continues good position at the top of the table seeing the fact that they are like the best team in the whole of ligue1, Monaco may be really tryin even with their performance this season but they are definitely not on same level as PSG in this season and there are more games ahead which PSG even seem have more chances of wining than Monaco in their subsequent fixture.

PSG can still show great toughness this season even without Mbappe, their form and also their consistency that is still very well maintained in Ligue 1 at the moment shows the depth of their squad that allows them to still dominate the ligue 1.

On the other hand, Mbappe has not shown a positive performance with Madrid, but we cannot deny if he is currently not yet adapting well, so maybe he still needs time to be able to show his quality and ability in the Los Blancos squad later.

At the beginning of this season we expected competitive competition in Ligue 1 will happen, if remember the performances shown by Marseille and Monaco, but those hopes were dashed after seeing them slowly begin to slump and move away from the top of the current Ligue 1 table.

Agree with what you said, Paris Saint Germain's dominance in Ligue 1 is very big, so they will continue to be like that until there is another team that can be on the same level as them. Until the 12th week that has passed, the gap in points between them is already visible and it will not be easy for other teams to catch up. Monaco must always be able to win if they want to keep their distance from Paris Saint Germain, while hoping that Paris Saint Germain can beat them, or at least get a draw from the matches they play. If Monaco slips like before, then Paris Saint Germain will be more free and comfortable at the top of the standings.

Many people agree that in Ligue 1, PSG dominance is difficult to break. The new season has only been running for 12 matches, PSG has formed a standings with a difference of 6 points from its closest competitor AS Monaco. TThe picture of the standings has not changed our perspective on Ligue 1, where this season is still the same as previous seasons, it is difficult for other contestants to match PSG competitive level. However, with the long season ahead, AS Monaco has the opportunity to compete for the trophy with PSG, basically Toulouse is not an equal opponent for PSG. Mbappe departure is only felt when PSG plays in the Champions League, in Ligue 1 they will still be fine. But who cares about Ligue 1 really? They would need more competition like in some of the other leagues or eventually they will harm the product Ligue 1 itself. If you've got one team that simply dominates all the others, what is the point following that league in detail? Of course it makes sense to see how PSG is doing since they are an important competitor in the Champions League, but the league itself is boring.

But this is what impacts the quality of the whole league. When you compare this to Italy and how they compete with each other to climb to the top, then I think that has value for the people. But PSG is only losing their games when they have been partying all day long the night before the game because the other teams can't keep with them in any regard.

Mbappe has contributed a lot to PSG being successful for many years, but he has wasted some valuable time of his career, too. For PSG he was a great deal because when people didn't like PSG, they still liked Mbappe and then watched those games. But now that he is gone the league has lost the last bit of appeal.

Agree with what you said, Paris Saint Germain's dominance in Ligue 1 is very big, so they will continue to be like that until there is another team that can be on the same level as them. Meeting between PSG and Monaco will take place on December 19th and is still more than 3 weeks away, this will be an interesting match but before that Monaco also has schedule against Marseille which is team with quite good playing quality improvement and is currently ranked 3rd.
If Monaco can achieve all the win before meeting PSG then even though it will end in draw and share points with PSG it will still be good result to continue to catch up, we'll just have to see how it goes until PSG and Monaco actually meet because the slightest mistake if made by Monaco then it will be very detrimental to them.

After Reims managed to equalize to 1-1 early in the second half, both teams started to play it safe because if one of them took the initiative to play openly, the opposing team would take advantage with a quick counter-attack. Lyon played very disciplined in the first half, they also managed to make it difficult for the home team to create chances, Reims were very lucky to equalize, a draw is very fair for both teams because they both played cautiously in this game.

If Lyon could do something marginal like sell every player they have, and just agree to terminate contract with other players, like if they could just get rid of them, and they play with only youth squad players and cheap contract players, would that be enough to stay?

I am not sure if that's an option, but if they can sell like 20 players, and just use all that money to pay the debt and play with 17-18-19-20 year old kids, maybe a bit more if their contract is very cheap, then it should be enough, right? That way they could make 100-150 million at least, and that should postpone it one more season at least. Then during the summer they could see what they could do. They are in a good position right now, I do not think they would relegate if they did that, still not great but would be at ligue 1, that's better than being dropped down.
