I mean its against a much easier opponent if you ask me compared to Man United but also it was much less important game as well. We are talking about cup game here, so it is not like anyone cares. By logic Liverpool could still win record breaking amount of goals in a year, they just need to win europa and super cup, league and domestic cups look to be alright. I believe only required one is Premier league, if they can win that one, then they will surely feel fine about it and no other win will matter. Premier league title could be highest falling just short of UCL but better than anything else than any team could ever win

But I don't think that's the case because Liverpool will really take advantage of every competition they participate in this season to become champions this season. Even though it requires a process, they have shown strong signs that Liverpool wants to get lots of trophies this season. I think the league cup is not really focused on by some teams but I think that's wrong because every team and the coaches want to present lots of trophies to the team every season so they focus on game after game with full energy.

In the Premier League, Liverpool are also at the forefront and what they have to do is maintain their performance so as not to lose points. In Europe league, Liverpool is also considered the strongest team compared to other teams. So Salah et al can maximize every match by winning for get a trophy this season.

I hope Manchester United will repeat the same scoreline we saw tonight. West Ham United would definitely be facing Manchester United and I'm not sure they can stand Manchester United in that game. Early kick off games are tiring and tougher for me to predict but I'm wishing Manchester United can win the game to aim for a better place on the Premier League table.

Heating you say that makes me giggle but, it’s I hope you said and not that they would actually do it and with that, I hold my peace to when such fixture comes up. Although, I strongly believe, Manchester United would have a hard time beating West Ham United if they could. They’ve been having great games while facing most of the mid tier teams, keeping good tabs on them except for Bournemouth that had them in their bag. How Manchester United managed to drag Liverpool to a goalless draw at a home side, I can’t say but then, I don’t see them to be any much of an improved team either.

In sometimes you will reason how a certain experienced coach will make a silly mistake even you as a spectator will not make.  That is football for you. Could you imagine that few days ago Liverpool was unable to score against Manchester United despite delivering about 30 shots. But today the same Liverpool have scored 5 goals against West Ham. If you are considering this, it means Manchester United should be able to score upto three goals against West Ham United and win them eventually, but football does not seems straight forward. Let us see what will happen between Manchester United and West Ham United.

Thumping 5-1 win for Liverpool tonight. Much better than the bore draw against Man Utd on Sunday.

Much bigger game vs Arsenal at the weekend though. I will be there, looking forward to it.

Liverpool, successfully overthrew West Ham with a big score of 5-1. in fact, we can predict this match beforehand, if Liverpool will win this fight. in this match, referring to statistics, Liverpool really played dominantly and didn't provide many opportunities for the opposing team. honestly, I have to admit that now Jurgen Kloop's squad is showing a different appearance than last season. specifically, early in the 2022-23 season. now before heading to the final round of the EFL competition, Liverpool must defeat Fulham first. after that, Jurgen Klopp's squad has the potential to win the EFL trophy. and I'm quite sure, their probability is quite large compared to other teams. and it seems that Chelsea will be a strong challenger to meet Liverpool in this final match. even though this is just an assumption and speculation, these two teams have great opportunities and potential. and if at the end Liverpool and Chelsea advance to the final round, yeah, we know that Liverpool's performance is more stable and their game is quite impressive. so, let's just wait before we go too far in speculating. at least, Liverpool's chance of winning the EFL competition trophy is very close to them. however, in football it is unique and quite difficult to predict accurately and correctly. there's no other way, we'll make sure first when Liverpool play the match against Fulham later.

Hahaha, Manchester United cannot repeat the same scoreline for several reasonns which we both are aware of. If this scoreline is repeated; then it is probably West Ham United thrashing Manchester United. The old trafford lads are poor in form and ridiculous in possession. A win for the mufc boys will be a surprise to me.

Liverpool really demolished West Ham in the EFL Cup today. Klopp actually rotated the squad a little and most importantly Salah wasn't in the starting lineup. But it was still not an obstacle for Liverpool to dominate the game from the beginning to the end. That 5-1 win was really convincing and a needed one for Liverpool as well.

Because despite being seen dominant they were really bad at finishing against Manchester United. This game must have been a big help to get over that. Now they have a really tough game ahead which is against Arsenal. It is very critical for the lead and I think Liverpool will win there.

Curtis Jones was massive today and scored twice. Liverpool really bossed the midfield and the wings. Leaving no chance for West Ham to do anything about it. Next up against the league leaders in Arsenal who are just 1 point ahead but it's a home game for Liverpool at Anfield.  The title race is heating up between the top 5. Spurs and Man City are lagging but can always make a push back to top by heating up. Much easier for City in that respect as Spurs are really struggling with injuries.

There was a massive decline that is happening to the westham. I meant that if westham was not performing so well in the EPL. This is also signalling that if westham would be bottling its chance in another competition as well.
Liverpool was always losing once it was using the secondary squad but surprisingly it was able beating westham with huge scores. This is the main problem owned by westham. The club managed by David Moyes has been displaying a high level of inconsistency during this period, and this is evident in the unfavorable results they have been obtaining against Liverpool's secondary club. Im surprising to see that happens to the liverpool. Westham was playing differently against liverpool tonight. It likes westham has lost its good performance this season.
Since the early season, Westham has been performing exceptionally well, but it is now encountering difficulties as the season progresses. Moyes needs to do something to saves his club from missing more points in EPL.

I completely agree with you, there are things we cannot predict perfectly even the final results can change far from our expectations, for example, several matches in Serie A often experience this. Sometimes that is also my reason not to place bets on 1x2 and prefer both teams to score especially in the Premier League, the competition is very tight. By the way, in this match Liverpool played exactly the same as when they played against Manchester United with almost 30 shots and 11 of them on target it's just that the final result is different so we can assume that Liverpool was unlucky against Manchester United or Manchester who implemented the right strategy.

I wonder why Liverpool is playing the main squad when this week Liverpool have an important match against Arsenal, the match in the Premier League should be more important because they will be fighting for the top of the standings or maybe Liverpool are too confident and can overcome Arsenal when playing at home?. In my opinion, this is a difficult match that is not easy to predict, there are no guarantees for Liverpool even if they play at home.

Guardiola is a very experienced coach. This season, Manchester City's performance in the Premier League has been somewhat erratic due to the weakness of the midfield, but Manchester City has been able to continue its dominance in the Champions League. And I suspect Guardiola will try to find the weaknesses in his squad very quickly. And stabilize the team again.

Certainly, Pep has ample experience and his tactically astute mind is enough to address the current issues at Mancity. There's still plenty of time ahead, including a whole second leg, for Mancity to regain their position. It must be added that this season is quite dramatic with new and uncomfortable contenders like Aston Villa.

The current issue with Mancity is evidently in the midfield; they are overly reliant on Rodri, so when he's absent, Mancity encounters problems. Additionally, the long-term injury to Kevin De Bruyne has posed significant challenges for Mancity. In the immediate future, if Pep can effectively address the midfield problem, find high-quality alternatives, and blend them with a sensible playing style, I believe the Champions League and Premier League titles are within their reach.

I do not actually understand the excuse of financial fair play. How many players did they buy that will warrant the implementation of the fair play rule. I thought in the last window, Manchester United sold some players like Antony Elanga, Fred, Da Gea and so. If it is that important, they can sell some other players like Martial, Rashford, Malacia and some others and get in new blood.

It's a valid excuse actually. I read that they already spent a total of £412 million the last two summers and that means they  have little room to wiggle. They are more focused on offloading players in January transfer so they could have more options in the off-season. The thing is that other teams will not just accept MU's price for their players so it won't be smooth transactions.

De Gea wasn't sold by the way - his contract with MU expired.
I also expect Martial to be sold since his contract is expiring at the end of the season.

You managed to describe the course of the Brenford vs Aston Villa match well, meaning you watched the match. I didn't watch it at the time, but when I saw the statistics of both teams then of course what you said was true. Aston Villa dominated the match and won 3 points in the end, but in essence Aston Villa really had difficulty winning the match because Brentford's defense was very strong.

The squad coached by Unai Emery deserves high appreciation for its good performance so far. Aston Villa has 4 more points than Manchester City in the standings and that makes Villa in 3rd place in the standings currently. The players' motivation is good, but maintaining the team's performance in the Premier League is very difficult. We'll see if Aston Villa can maintain their good form into the second half of the season, but I doubt them.

Aston Villa really had difficulty finding space to score goals because Brentford's defense was so good in the first half and they were even able to play neatly in the second half before two goals occurred in the final 20 minutes of the game. There was tension between Martinez and the Brentford players so that the referee gave Kamara a slightly controversial red card, but because the match was almost over, Brentford was unable to take advantage of player's advantage to equalize.

It is not easy to maintain consistency because the Premier League is quite different and Unai Emery must be careful not to suffer defeat in the next match. The competition will be much more competitive and Aston Villa will be required to play much better. One point is different from the top of the standings and Aston Villa can take advantage of the Liverpool vs Arsenal match to move up to first place if the match ends in a draw.

I don't completely agree that Manchester City won't win the Premier League trophy this season. While their current form may suggest challenges, it's premature to definitively say they won't emerge victorious. The reason is, there are numerous games left in the season, providing ample opportunity for Manchester City to turn things around. Currently, the point difference between Manchester City and the current league leaders, Arsenal, is just 5 points. This gap isn't insurmountable, especially considering past seasons where similar situations occurred. Last season, Arsenal led with almost 11 points, yet Manchester City managed to secure the title in the end.

So, it's essential not to jump to conclusions early in the season. Despite the current challenges, Manchester City has shown resilience and the capacity to overcome such deficits. Therefore, it would be premature to dismiss their chances based on the present circumstances, as football is known for its unpredictability and the potential for teams to make comebacks.

I do agree that we can't say that they can't win, but we also can't say that they will win. So far they do not look like the best team, and the gap is getting bigger every game, they are not playing like they used to so I can understand why they are doing what they are doing. I believe that this is going to be a tough game up next, and if they lose points again then I do not think that they are going to end up with anything that would be nice for them at all.

I believe that we are going to end up with a lot of trouble if we are not careful at all. I believe that City may still end up winning if they go on a big winning streak, and not like they haven't done that before, but in a 10-15 game streak, they will end up at the top easily, just not sure if they can.

As we have always known Liverpool is a big name and they have proven it this night by scoring a very high-margin of of goal against West Ham United. This is not a warning to only Arsenal in the upcoming English Premier League clash, but it is also a warning to Chelsea which is the only big team that is remaining in the EFL Cup. I just checked the starting 11 of Liverpool and discovered that they did not go in with all their big names. They went in with fairly squad that is able to match West Ham United. Jones did the majority of the work from the midfield and got a brace. In the other side, I expected Mohammed Kudus to do something similar, but the match overwhelmed him

It seems like that the performance from westham is still on the decline. As you can see that if liverpool was not even putting salah in and that's amazing to see how livrpool was destroying westham with a lot of goals. I do like the gameplay of liverpool last night.
It was playing fully offensive and it was very amazing to see that liverpool was scoring 5 goals against westham. At least it was giving better result than the match against manchester united. I must admit that if westham has been trying so hard to defend from any attacks but it always comes intensively.
There is a lot of problems happened to the westham. I thought that westham would become as good as aston villa but i was wrong about that. The squad is performing so badly and liverpool got big win against it. Congratulations.

In the opening match of Week 18, Crystal Palace will host Brighton. And Crystal Palace are currently on a six-match winless streak in the Premier League at the moment, and in the match against Brighton, will they be able to turn things around and get back to winning ways.
In my opinion, it is difficult for Crystal Palace to win the match against Brighton, because Brighton has a strong defense so it will make it difficult for Crystal Palace to score goals. And in my opinion both teams have the same quality of players and this will be an exciting match to start match week 18, and I think the score will end in a draw.

Sure Liverpool is really a very reliable club in the England as they win matches that they find they can comfortably win easily. They really did a great job in this match against Westham in the EFL competition by whipping them 5:1 with goals coming from Dominik Szoboszlai who score the first goal in first half, Curtis Jones scored a brace, Cody Gakpo also scored and Mohammed Salah. It was really a wonderful night for the Red's.

Seeing how West Ham's performance in this match, I don't think they will go anywhere in Europa League. West Ham only make 2 total shots, while Liverpool playing without their full squad can scored 5 goals.

I do not think that Manchester United will defeat Westham heavily like the way Liverpool did to them yesterday because they will be playing Manchester United in the Premier League and Westham will be more serious about securing the whole 3 points when they play Manchester United.

Newcastle United are lacking form and even West Ham who played Liverpool yesterday wasn't that strong to withstand the pressure that the home side gave them in the Carabao Cup last night.
I wasn't sure if Liverpool would pump in more than 3 goals in that game knowing that they have a stronger game against the league leaders (Arsenal).
They should be mindful of the Gunners, I don't know if we should be expecting a very boring game like what we witness them (Liverpool) play against Manchester United. I just believe that these 5-1 thriller we saw them play against West Ham would be a motivation to them in making their weekend game more interesting.

As long as westham will not be playing use low blocks and manchester united can beat it but the different situation when united must have faced a fully defensive team. Westham was aware playing in the old trafford give them more disadvantage.
Im sure westham will be using its parking bus strategy. It can be a disaster for manchester united to miss more points caused by MU is in the main mission to qualify for the UCL next season. The chance to win is quite big for manchester united.
Im still questioning whether those attackers will able to perform so well against westham. We have seen that how hojlund did nothing for the club. He has passed so many matches and he is still having 0 goals which is bad for him.
Hojlund was not even worth with his price. This guy is not the same like what have been hyped by man u fans in the past called him even better than haaland.

Ten hag needs at least try to give other striker a chance to play. Hojlund's performance is very disappointed to be watched. I will put hojlund out from the squad rather than give him a chance to play.

You're right with winning bigger clubs too especially when they're very close to you as the league leader. Liverpool are not going to be a good host at Anfield in that game. I feel Arsenal too are not going to let their guards down. We know how they (Arsenal) like dropping points when it matters but this game is going to be something Arteta shouldn't play with because Man City are currently out of the picture and if Arsenal get that 3 point at Anfield I don't see Liverpool getting anywhere close to that number 1 spot of the table. I just hope this game don't end in a draw.

manchester united that needs to be improved is the communication of its coach with its players, not continuing to buy expensive players who are always over rate or expensive.
Now who is still noisy with eric ten hac, jordan sanco has not even been allowed to participate in training in the first team, casemero is also reportedly on the sale list, there is also varane.
If the coach's communication is not in order, buying and selling expensive players again, the same result is just a fuss again selling again.
