Registering to this site since it seems its the only place we are receiving any sort of information about the products etc..Too bad they cant use their site to keep the customers up to date (and have only recently discovered how to email their customers about changes and new information).

I digress, I wanted to ask anyone who works for GAWMiners why they were removing negative reviews on the ASIC Fury page. For your information, censorship is clearly not the way to go. I recommend instead you work harder on delivering a good service and the good reviews will come in time. From what I've seen the hardware looks very promising however the manner in which GAWMiner executed the launch was abysmal to say the least. Very bad communication etc.. Lets just hope this is a learning experience for all.

http://www.gawminers.com/the-fury-1-mh-s-asic-scrypt-miner-week-three/

Troll.

Launch was decent, there were the bumps but they were handled quickly and efficiently. Wasn't a scam, and each situation is being resolved as we still speak.

Week 1 is technically alpha, week 2 beta, week 3 final release. Any one expecting different was not being realistic and shouldnt have had their hopes that high on a community and business as new and young as this one.

For a company only around for a short while, they have released a store front with phenomenal customer service, which continues to grow with the demand. They have released their own series of miners, and provided those with the risk of taking the leap a FREE $40+ unit that they took a loss on in order to make the items more easily maintained.

Abysmal it was not.

Glad to see pics going up

Got a favor to ask. I am meeting with the CEO of ZenMiner tonight. I would like to talk about the features our customers want and the order of priority.

Is someone willing to make a form that will allow people to add features and the ability to vote? If possible, we need to do it asap. This way I have it in time for the meeting.

Start some voting here if you like

http://goo.gl/Rs4zBw

You can add your own suggestion as well. Just fill it in, in the "other" section and it will get added.

PEOPLE, if you call in or talk to tech support, can you please be nice to them?  I just chatted with Jonathan about my zenminer problem. We didn't come to a resolution, but he opened a ticket for me.  At the end, he thanked me for being nice about it and not yelling at him.

THE PEOPLE TRYING TO HELP YOU ARE NOT THE CAUSE OF YOUR PROBLEMS.  Give them a break. They are there to HELP you. The nicer you are, the easier you'll be to help.

Well I gave up on the zenMiner, but I think the problem is my switch.

Anyway, on my linux system now, here is what I'm getting when I start cgminer:

Icarus Detect: Attempting to open /dev/ttyUSB0

I'm pretty sure ttyUSB0 is right, because that's what I get when I run dmesg | grep tty

Did you get the zencontroller?  Instructions were included with that.

If not, search the forum for cgminer instructions, its been posted a few times.

Hopefully the new forum Josh mentioned will go live soon and we can post the instructions in the FAQ.

Cheers,

Cassey

Please, Please feel it wasn't fair to remove the zen controller from fury 3rd week bundle until they were sold out. Could you re-think this?  Don't want to pay $70 for a unit thats not even functional right now.

What would be really helpful for people trying to do self service support for their GAW Miner hardware would be if GAW would put a new Support Link on the GAW Miners Website Home Page.

Then break out each product they sell and put support information for each product on there.

That way people can find exactly what they need for each product that GAW sells.  For example ---setup info, software, drivers, recommended PSU requirements, etc.

Surely that would be a next logical thing to do ASAP?  Just saying...

This forum can be sort of chaotic when trying search for helpful support information.

If you are having issues with the ZenController (raspberry Pi) here's what I suggest you can do to possibly find the problem:

Connect the HDMI cable from the ZenController to a display and plug a USB keyboard into the ZenMiner.  Login using

Username: root
Password: gawminers

Once logged in, you can enter the cgminer screen process by typing: screen -r

You will see the current output from cgminer and if you're like me, instantly realize you did not enter your pool credentials correctly. Smiley

To exit the screen and leave cgminer running, press Control-a-d.  (i.e. hold 'Control' then press 'a' then press 'd').

If you dont have an HDMI compatible display, the ZenController is preconfigured to grab an IP address from the network via DHCP.  So you can login to your internet router and the ZenController will probably listed in your list of connected devices / DHCP leases.  You can then SSH into the ZenController using the same login info as above.  You could also scan your network for the IP address, or randomly try IP addresses on your network until you get an SSH connection.

Here's my cgminer config for Black Widow (I'm not using the ZenMiner stuff, just the custom cgminer binary on the RaspberryPi).

Code:
cgminer --api-listen --api-network -o us.wemineltc.com:3333 -u username.widow -p x -o stratum2.wemineltc.com:3333 -u username.widow -p x --nocheck-golden --chips-count 64 --ltc-clk 328 -S /dev/ttyUSB0

okay  first question I have is who has a working fury/zenminer in hand?

if you do what power does it pull?   what does it hash?

I have played the new gear time over and over and over and over.

I decided to

a ) wait for real world reports on zemminer - gaw miner combo's

next question is their a support thread for this on this site.

It would be in script/alt coins.  but a thread with all of the new gaw miners would be good.

I have no gaw miners justs grid seeds  5 chip  and  blades.

A nice setup thread with the units would be helpful

the fury
the widow
the falcon
the war machine
the zen controller

I am quoting my self   as I am looking for   this idea to take off.

1) the fury  runs at   1.3mh   with 40 watts

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529093.msg7007242#msg7007242  from _____TR________

question to _____TR______ what is your power source a brick or an atx PSU with some pcie adapter cords?

I ask because watts  WITH A BRICK would be much higher then with a plat atx psu.  So 40 watts is good if it is a brick  .  Since I think a plat psu with pcie adapters would do 32-35 watts

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529093.msg7023686#msg7023686

1.3mh 48 watts with a brick

2) the widow

we have a video and unboxing of the widow here.

http://hoosierminer.com/gawminer-black-widow-unboxing/

looks like a 16.6 mh hash rate But I can read the power meter or the hash rate well

more info please a second miner says they get 14mh  not sure what power draw.

3) the falcon:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529093.msg7023389#msg7023389

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529093.msg7024539#msg7024539

getting 25mh and pulling 1000 watts?

4) the war machine

no results

5)zen controller

so please quote and add info to the 5 above.

we can use this to organize  a support thread.

FWIW, my Black Widow that arrived an hour ago is hashing away at 14MH/s.

How much power is it drawing? I have mine plugged into a 650w EVGA 80Gold PSU that's drawing 89w at idle (300w with the BW plugged in). AS SOON as I start mining, it shuts down and I have to CMOS reset my PC to even get it to boot back up.

Trying to get ready for my Black Widow.  States "Power Consumption: 370W".  Is that 370W @ 12V or the size of a PC Power Supply required?  370W @ 12V is 30.83A.  Does the Black Widow really require >30A of power?  That seems like a lot.  I would prefer to run off of the 30A 12V supply with Black Widow power connectors (new GAW accessory?).  Has anyone actually measured how many amps at 12V are required?  Thanks.

It's drawing about 4.5 amps @120v.  About 540 Watts.  I have it running from a 550W Rosewill 80Plus Gold PSU.  Will probably have to switch to something bigger...

That 370W number is not accurate.  You need a 550W (absolute minimum) or greater PSU for the Black Widow.

BTW, that number is 370 watts at 120 volts, not 12 volts.   The Black Widow uses about 47.5 Amps at 12 volts.

Edit: My 550W PSU is only powering the BW.  No computer.  If you were powering a computer too, you'd need an even larger PSU.

It's drawing 4.75 amps @120v.  About 570 Watts.  I have it running from a 550W Rosewill 80Plus Gold PSU.  Will probably have to switch to something bigger...

So I should be able to run it on my 12V@30A supply I have ten Gridseed 5-chips on as well as power a couple Fury's too?  <5A is much more reasonable.  Just need some power adapter cables...   I really don't want to have to run a PC power supply.
