Though IBO is not so prestigious like the 4 boxing sanctioning bodies but still it is a good start for Philippine boxing to rebound from devastation so with that said, Dave Apolinario is the name to watch out for in the coming years.

Agree with you. It's still a World Title and we now have another champion representing the Philippines.

A first-round KO is hard to do but Dave did it. His winning record is impressive too and looks at his Knockout rate. He is a rising star and I'm looking forward to more of his achievements in the future. He's just 23 years old after all. More time to shine on the stage.

Hope more PH boxers will be back again in the boxing spotlight. We always have known about that. Not that we are looking for another Manny Pacquiao.

I didn't expect that from Dave Apolinario. At a young age, he was able to prove himself in the ring. He has huge potential but I hope that he could follow in the footsteps of the boxing champ, Manny Pacquiao. To be honest, it's been already years but none could follow Manny's records. Filipino boxers only need to have more perseverance and eagerness to gain more titles.

I don't think that anyone, not even Filipinos can duplicate what Manny did during his time in boxing. Floyd might be undefeated when he retires and beat Manny. But still Pacquiao has the charisma and his style of boxing is very much appreciated by the fans all over the world.

As for the unknown Dave Apolinario, this is his obvious break out, thus becoming the only Filipino champion. Nothing wrong with that belt, and now the potential and opportunity just begun with this win.

Re-making the achievement of Manny Pacquiao is a remarkable thing to do, We know that Pacquiao is a legend in the history of boxing and going near his achievement is absolutely amazing. This is why I think Filipino Boxers especially newly discovered ones are trying to get as many achievement they can get, Most of them surely idolize Pacquiao and they are trying to do what Pacquiao did in his younger years.

Now, Let's see how young Dave Apolinario do in his next upcoming fights. He grabbed the spotlight now, I hope he won't let go of it.

Anyone knows why the IBO flyweight title becomes vacant prior Dave Apolinario gets it? Who's the champion before?

Maybe it's more better if he snatch the title thru a title defense match where he is the challenger and will face against a champion. Either way, a win is a win and he shows fierce on that match  although his opponent is far from his prime already.

Anyone who also have the idea about upcoming fights involving PH boxers? Do we have upcoming titles match? Or those previously PH champions that recently lose on their respective match this year will need to start from the bottom and climb up ranks?

I guess for us it was really a big surprised and we can call this an upset. He is still very raw even rank outside of the top 10 if I'm not mistaken. And yet his sped and power was too much for his opponent that he was just sitting on his knees and the referee counting in his ears and despite that, maybe he was still dazed and can't really get up. So good win for this kid.

I like the nickname though, Doberman, sounds like terrifying. And he did live up to his monicker, his opponent didn't see the punch coming and got knock out. It was really fast and was kind of deceiving, you never thought that he had that kind of power.

So he becomes the lone PH champion for now. But definitely he will be not the last as Filipino is known to produce great boxers and then become elite in a world level, becoming a champion. And who knows, not the level of Manny Pacquiao, but at least won the belt and get the other organizations belt under him.

And as expected, based on the odds of the fight, Danny Garcia dominated Benavidez in their match by majority decision, scores where: Judges Glenn Feldman (116-112) and Anthony Paolillo (117-111), while Waleska Roldan a draw (114-114).

The power though, it seems to me that Garcia doesn't have the power he has when he was the champion at 140 and 147 lbs. I guess moving up in weight, it diminishes. But if he ever faces a hard punching Charlo at I guess Danny doesn't have a chance.

It will take cherry pick fighters for Garcia to face in this division. Charlo is scary and that's why he holds all the belt here. And then we have Fundora and Tim Tszyu as well. I think him and Tszyu will be a tailor made fight and it will be huge if the fight is going to happen in Australia. But a hard hitting like Liam Smith or Tony Harrison might be tougher match up for Danny. He should get another tune up fight in this division.

Sanman is my favorite local promotion and I am not trying to discredit Dave Apolinario's knockout victory in South Africa but IBO is not a major or legit world title. It is only WBA (regular belt becomes invalid when there's a super WBA champion), WBC, IBF, and WBO as sanctioning organizations. And we have another 2 non-sanction organizations but the most highly coveted and rarely awarded, The Ring belt and the recognized lineal champions by TBRB (Transnational Boxing Rankings Board founded when The Ring was purchased by Golden Boy Promotions to prevent conflict of interest). I do hope Apolinario's big victory will further climb his world rankings in order to fight for a real belt.

Anyone who also have the idea about upcoming fights involving PH boxers? Do we have upcoming titles match? Or those previously PH champions that recently lose on their respective match this year will need to start from the bottom and climb up ranks?
Ex-champion Jerwin Ancajas will have his chance to retake his IBF belt from Fernando Martinez in October this year. I really believe that Ancajas can win if he fights smartly. Another ex-champion Marlon Tapales is probably the next to fight for a world title as he is ranked number 1 by the IBF in the super-bantamweight division.

I agree, Charlo will demolish Danny Garcia if ever they meet in the ring someday. He's not sharp enough in today's fight to warrant him to face Charlo. He is not the same fighter anymore when he was campaigning in the lower division where he has a high knockout ratio.

With due respect to Danny Garcia, he will be just a stepping stone for boxers with potential to be champion.

He goes up because he knows he can't beat Crawford after being beaten by Spence so he will take a chance and try his luck in a heavier division, Garcia is still good he can still give Charlo a good fight but his chances are not good but we'll see in the Benavidez fight if he can give us a good showing if he losses the fight then it's still for him to hang up his gloves like Porter did when he realized that he cannot keep with the current division where he is comfortable fighting, we'll see after the fight if he will decide to quit, he is pressure to win after that defeat against Spence.

I only heard pa! pa! pa! from Benavidez earlier and it seems he doesn't have enough power to knockout Garcia even though his punches were landing earlier. though Garcia was also not strong enough to quickly end the fight, his stamina and speed are good and I think he was just not used to fighting at this high weight class and it's really hard for him to adjust that's why the fight ended up with the official's decision instead of K.O. he might be ready for another championship fight if he can improve his punches powers in one more fight before that.

Danny Garcia is looking really sharp with his combination, and Benavidez is not looking really sharp he really does shout when he fights but I think Garcia is not intimidated about it, Danny Garcia really is on point with his punch accuracy and the thing is both fighters are seeing show boating aswell, first was Jose Benavidez but Garcia is looking sharp when he evades those punch from Benavidez when he showboats, but there is no power in Garcia's punches and Benevidez is likely to take all of that and never knockout at all, but this is Danny Garcia first fight for this division so I really can't blame him,

It seems that both fighters don't have the strength to knock out one another, and it seems that Jose Benavidez Jr.'s shout was really annoying for me it seems unnecessary to shout like that, but yeah it seems he is used to it, I think it is now a mannerism for Benavidez to be like that shouting while punching, Well shouting is very Typical for fighters when they are executing their punches or kicks but for Jose Benavidez Jr. his shout was kind of in a weird way,

But anyway Danny Garcia is proven the winner by getting as many punches as Benavidez, surely a dominant fight from him, but he can not knockout his opponent because of lack of power, he should have train it first and show it on his next fight,

I think he has a decent power, but it is not landing perfectly into Garcia's chin, but Danny has a good chin as well that's why it doesn't have the effect.

Want to mentioned though that during the post fight interview with Jim Gray, Danny cried and just like Ryan, he also suffered from the same mental issues and it took him more than a year to get back into the sports that he love and now getting his win after 20 months.

Pretty much that Danny Garcia VS Jose Benavidez Jr. fight was a banger but not that much, I am looking forward to the upcoming boxing matches that I am thrilled to discuss here, and that is the

Teofimo Lopez ("The Takeover") vs. Pedro Campa ("Roca")

Date: Saturday 08.13.2022

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Right now the odds pretty much were for Teofimo Lopez, and as you can see from the fight poster only Teofino Lopez was the only one in there, and many are saying that it is too biased for the boxing management to do such things,

And another match that I want to discuss here is this event aswell, which will be in August 20, and that is the

Usyk vs. Joshua 2: Rage on the Red Sea

Date: Saturday 08.20.2022

Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

MAIN EVENT

Heavyweight: Oleksandr Usyk VS Anthony Joshua

CO-MAIN EVENT

Heavyweight: Zhilei Zhang VS Filip Hrgovic

Judging from the poster alone, it seems to me that this will be a sure win fight in-favor of Lopez because why would they produce and post a poster that doesn't contain Pedro Campa's face? This fight might be too much to be just a supposed tune-up fight because I'm really viewing this as a cherry-easy-pick fight as Lopez's first fight in this division.

Well, I hope that I'm wrong Grin

The WBC has ordered that a fight be made between Zepeda vs Prograis for the vacant WBC 140 lbs belt. Josh Taylor, the unified champion, decided to vacant that belt.

I initially thought that it will be Ramirez vs Zepeda for the title. But I think the winner of this fight will face Ramirez next. This is good fight, both Zepeda and Prograis are known brawlers so this is a sure fire war.

It was initially Ramirez vs Zepeda but Ramirez is not available because he will be married in October. It could have been a good rematch between the two since they had a close fight in 2019.

Between Zepeda and Prograis, I favor Zepeda here. He is in a roll with 5 win-streak. This can be a good match.

I hope we are wrong about it, but it was a very controversial poster photo, that many are commenting on right now and it was the very highlight of the fight to not include Pedro Campa at all, For me, Teofimo Lopez has the advantage I think he wants to regain his confidence after that lost from Kambosos and cherry picking Campa is not a bad idea, to get back his ego and confidence, and Pedro Campa is on another division, but I will not be surprised aswell if there would be an upset, and Pedro Campa won this one,

And in other news, the Iranian Hulk Sajad Gharibi is making waves on social media right now by catfishing people that he was this huge Bulking massive guy, and his real fight has come Versus Kazakh Titan and this goes to show that the big guy doesn't really know how to fight and sadly running away from Titan, and surely the Iranian Hulk is not Bulky at all but just a random fat guy and all of that post in social media was just edited, Here is the Video Clip
