Qatar is not a high-ranking team but as hosts, they definitely have some advantages. The crowd was definitely one of those advantages, and I think their fans must hope that their national team can achieve good results. Another advantage, Qatar National Team has been acclimatized to environmental conditions, where they are used to playing in sizzling weather. If you still remember, at the 2002 World Cup, South Korea as the host managed to surprise the world (though South Korea was not the favored team at that time).

They already had their advantages and blew it up by conceding to Ecuador because they skipped the qualification stage, they were automatically qualified by FIFA not to struggle for a slot and I think that contributed to why they weren't unable to score even a goal in the match yesterday.

The group A stage is already dominated by Ecuador and England, even though I expected more from England because being paired with Iran was one of the ways to finish this group stage with fair points, the players did a clean job but I'm amazed that Iran manages to have 2 goals unlike Qatar and Senegal, I doubt if Senegal would perform well without Manes present because this is not what they were during the qualification stage.

Irani palyers refused to sing their national anthem at the start of the match to support the people protesting back home. There have been so many political stuff going on along side the matched. Iran performed better depite of the trouble going back home

So far so good for the expected ones in the world cup..when I said expected ones I mean the teams with more world cup  experience. The big teams are not taking any chances of playing a draw or worst loss.

Well I don't expect much from Argentina and Denmark tomorrow.. I am feeling all teams with better experience in this world cup are going to deliver on their first games

Am looking forward to see Ronaldo play in the finals of the world cup.

I was really disappointed from the opening game from Qatar and expected more from then , Ecuador have got some nice playings.
For the todays games i was expecting a win for England but not in this high against Iran, well played.
Very  interesting draw result from USA against Wales , as i expecting USA to win that.
The Netherlands game looks like was boring and they won there match as i expected here.
So far there was not really a game that i can say wow that was awesome hopefully there will be one coming soon.

It may sound strange, but the result of 6-2 does not fully reflect the advantage and control that England had in this match. Gareth Southgate opted for an attacking game and that worked great in this match. Every player has contributed to England's victory in this match. The England squad has a strong attack and midfield. If their defenders can perform well then England has the potential to reach the final. Also the teams in Group B are not strong. I think the England team will be able to win every match very comfortably.

Wins against weak teams, even if by very big margins will have only a limited impact. England is placed in a relatively easier group along with Wales, United States and Iran. For them, the stronger challenge will come during the next phase. Topping Group B should not be a big issue for them. BTW, I am looking forward to the England vs Wales match. @kro55 when I saw Maguire had started I felt that England would end up losing this game, but surprisingly they played really well and managed to win by scoring many goals. Also this should restore their confidence which was effected due to poor results in the last few matches, but I hope that they continue performing strongly because I’ll be happy to be proved wrong as I had predicted them to exit early from this tournament.

If England met Portugal or Germany, they would definitely suffer their first defeat in the World Cup, Iran played well in last night's match, they scored two goals against England, of course it's not an easy thing for those Asian representatives, at least to provide resistance for England..

He came in only during the second half, but had a big impact on the match. Next match for Wales will be against Iran. A big win would secure the qualification for the next phase.

Iran and England game is very good for me they beat Iran in the match with great attack. England player scored the highest goal with Iran first of all Iran is not a very strong team but England is a very strong team. Especially in yesterday's game England players who performed the best J. Bellingham, B. Saka, R. Sterling, M. Rashford, J. Grealish, their style of play was different and they attacked at every moment. In this match Iran team had enough attack. Iran team never imagined that they will lose with England by so many goals.

Usa team failed to get the three point in the first world cup game despite taking the lead as early as the 36th minutes, they had a good first half but then they backed down on the second one giving the opportunity for wales team to press them until they managed to get the penalty and secure the draw it seems USA players inexperience was a big factor in this result.

The USA player seems to forget that there is a great player in Wales so make them negligent in the last minutes. Pulisic where have much experience in Europa doesn't anticipate this when the Penalty happens. So, I think with this moment we already know who accompanies england on the next round if USA can't handle the rest game. We know England can be easy to cope with them next and have to say goodbye when wales also win versus Iran.

Saka was really good.  So was Bellingham's performance.  Britain has shown that many people's worries were unfounded.  They managed to beat Iran 6-2 with a very good game.  Mehdi Taremi, on the other hand, became a star in Iran with 2 goals, despite the fact that it was so uninspiring.  Taremi, who had successful matches with Porto, showed his quality a little bit.

Saka was really good.  So was Bellingham's performance.  Britain has shown that many people's worries were unfounded.  They managed to beat Iran 6-2 with a very good game.  Mehdi Taremi, on the other hand, became a star in Iran with 2 goals, despite the fact that it was so uninspiring.  Taremi, who had successful matches with Porto, showed his quality a little bit.

I totally agree with you.
It must also be said that England was very lucky with the draw in the last two major competitions, the World Championship and the European Championship, and until the semi-finals or the final they played with weaker opponents.
Wins against weak teams don't win you the title.
I'm sure that Bale and Wales will be very motivated in the match against England and we will have a real, ''warrior'' game

It was expected that they would dominate, it's going to be an easy time for all three teams to beat Iran, while they might be good for their own continent, the other ones do not really feel like Iran is good enough to be even in the world cup.

This is why I keep saying there needs to be more European nations in the world cup, and possibly more Latin American ones as well, and maybe African ones too, Asian nations are fine and all, but they do not come up with the best teams to be fair and that causes a little trouble for them, they need to be better of course, but they rarely are, and world cup is not the way to test how good they became, it's a place where best nations should play.
