Though draw for Liverpool and Real, I am sure both clubs would have been much more pleased with almost any other draw. At least we will have on game worthy of the final in this first knockout stage.

I am glad Napoli got ok opponent in Eintracht, they are playing beautiful football this season and I would like them to come far in Champions League. I think my bets will go on Napoli and Benfica to take care of things in first leg away from home. Should be solid odds for that.

It's very difficult to predict something when now it's not even middle of November and games will be played in the end of February. So many things can happen until it, especially when we have Wolrd Cup. I just say few words about each pair.
Real Madrid vs Liverpool. Repeat of last Champions league final. Now Real looks better, but now it's doesn't matter that much
PSG vs Bayern Munich. PSG can dream about winning Champions league, but seems that they're cursed. Getting Bayern so early isn't a gift.
RB Leipzig vs Man City. City can be happy about draw.
Club Brugge vs Benfica. Brugge looked very solid in group, Benfica is undefeated this season. Should be very interesting.
AC Milan vs Tottenham. Milan in playoffs after very long break. I think it's 50/50 pair.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Napoli. Now Napoli is playing maybe best football in Europe, though Frankfurt shouldn't be easy underdog.
Borrusia Dortmund vs Chelsea. Very interesting pair, 50/50 IMO.
Inter vs Porto. Inter is not big favorite, but Porto have potential to kick them out.

Bookmakers are really weird though. Liverpool currently 2/1 favourites against Real (35/10)..??

Top runners in order: City (25/10), Bayern, PSG, Liverpool (10/1), Real (12/1), Napoli, Chelsea, Spurs(16/1), Benfica (25/1),Inter (33/1), BVB, Milan (50/1), everyone else 100/1 and up.

I think that some odds doesn't makes sense. Real like always, understimated too much, but for people who believe in them, chance to make long shot and take good money. And way too big advantage given for City.

I think Benfica has a really easy opponent in this encounter,I say this because Fc Porto which is much weaker than Benfica during this year won 0-4 against them so most probably Benfica can achieve the same without problems.

The only problem for Benfica would be if they underestimate them as opponents and if they do it then I am sorry to say but it will be game over for Benfica and not for Club Brugge,it all depends on the clubs mentality,if both clubs gives their 100% then I think Benfica will qualify further.

No, he's not far away, one bad round and he'll be in the middle of the table, the pool is very competitive, two good rounds and you're up there, one bad round and you're down there, that's the beauty of it. I'm 4th and 13 points away from KT; in the previous round, I had 20+ points despite missing two early fixtures (6 points). Everyone has a chance to win in the pool.

What Club Brugge did in the group stage was really mind blowing and unexpected to be honest, but the same can be said of Benfica who was actually paired with both PSG and Juventus, but still didn't lose a single game and even topped the group, I'm not saying it is supposed to be an easy tie for Benfica, as Club Brugge shouldn't be underestimated like @swogerino did, but I would go with Benfica to win the tie, because they've got better players with loads of experience playing in Europe year in year out.

So far, regarding Ronaldo, I see a pause in the news. I wonder if this is a sign that he has no options to stay in Europe (and get what he wants - playing in the Champions League) or a sign that some option has already worked and the agreement/formalities are being finalized. I hope it's the second option.
