What an amazing start by Germany! I must admit I'm very impressed...    They are probably going to destroy Scotland by a big goal difference especially after this red card. It is 3-0 at halftime already.

After what I have seen so far I have started to think more positive about Germany. They really look promising for the first time in many years. I think the last 5 Euro start games have been won by the opening team and this might be that game where a draw might emerge out of nowhere and I've been having this feeling for quite a while and by all means , Scotland does have a strong team who could create problems and score goals. Making it this early in the June is awesome, because last time we had a big cup, it was world cup and it was in November/December, that was horrible. We are seeing some big national team action during the summer like good old days, and it is going to be quite fun.

Before the first game of the 2024 UEFA Euros Championship tonight between host nation Germany and Scotland kicked off, I had initially predicted that the Germans are going to come out victorious but little did I know they'll dominate the game to the extent they did. Scotland were second best in every contention they had tonight against Germany and right from the very first minute till the last minute of the game, the hosts played with so much determination.
It's a very good start for Germany who I think are very prepared for the tournament as they try to make up for their shortcomings in recent major tournaments they've participated in. Statistically, this will be an easy victory, so it is not surprising that the bookmakers in the pre-match gave odds of 1.2 for Germany in this match because the difference in quality and player situation is also indeed far different between Germany and Scotland.

Regards Germany was already 2 goals ahead before R. Porteous the Scottish player was shown a red card, truly the red card affected the performance of the Scotland team but even though they weren't one man down, Germany would still come out victorious but maybe the goal margin wouldn't have gotten to this much 5. Being the host country is also an additional advantage as you noticed already because playing in front of your country men and fans all over the stadium will greatly increase the team motivation and it will boost the morale of the Germany players to show more good performance and a typical example is the opening game today where Scotland managed to get a goal as a result of an own goal from the Real Madrid Super star A. It was actually not a surprise to me that Germany will win Scotland in the opening match of the euro 2024. But what rather became a surprise to me is the margin of goals that was scored. Another great surprise to me is the activities of the young Musiala who wore the iconic number 10 jersey of Germany. When I said last season that Musiala deserved the golden boy award above Bellingham, people thought I was joking. Jamal Musiala has a whopping 9.4 on a scale of 10 but the media decided to keep hyping the already made Toni kroos who managed 7.7
It is not that I'm comparing both, but I fell the young Musiala doesn't have the credit he deserves that even people were questioning why he was given jersey no 10.

You captured my sentiment quite well I thought the same. There wasn't much to win as the odds were favoring Germany obviously. But the game got a bit boring too early. The red card was the right decision though. When I saw it in slow motion, I had to close my eyes for a moment because it was so ugly. But well played by the Germans. Wirtz' goal was superb. Only one touch and the right spin and that's it. But I liked Musiala the most! How is it possible that he can dribble while he is crashing? He never loses balance with his body. I wish I had that balance. But it is time that several games per day are played. I always like these big events.
