There is a chance that this will happen if the bitcoin continuous to grow more and more I really think we can achieve this.

Is it not achieved yet? I think it is a global currency now. I guess we are thinking of fiat when we say global. It is not physical money but online it is global. Even if you go in Africa you can access bitcoin.

In the interest of international central banking system to do everything possible to keep control over the global financial system, as it revolve a lot of money.
Many do not beieve that Bitcoin could become the world's reserve currency, but with a similar cryptocurrency can happen anything.
In the near future, society will not start en masse to give up their bank accounts and create a Bitcoin wallet. It is clear that the chances of a decentralized global currency Bitcoin controlled miner and not central banks, are very small.

However, it is clear that Bitcoin will not be lost, and in a constantly evolving digital industry to it, no doubt, is provided.

Bitcoin, from the start, has been a global currency. It can be used to purchase things from different parts of the globe with different online merchants accepting it as payment. But the greater concern should be on how it can serve more people in more places. The frequency of transactions compared to Paypal and credit cards are still miles away, but seeing how things are improving, I hope that bitcoin somehow gets into the realm of consciousness of the average citizens of the world.

Bitcoin is indeed a global currency, and what is lacking is the number of users that is needed to support its global claim.  It is far more better than any automated financial addressing system used nowadays.  So to go globally bitcoin has to be recognized by even a fraction in the majority of individuals using the current technology.  At least a fraction of that will be a lot.

There are hundreds of cryptocurrency varieties worldwide. Bitcoin loves everyone to refer to cryptocurrencies as "bitcoin." The reality is, that cryptocurrencies are already accepted globally as was PayPal before it.

Possibility is there, but very low. Now too its a global currency as its used over the entire world. If you think dollar has come across long years so to attain this place, likewise only after long run this might happen because bitcoin has existed just few years back.

Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Digital Asset. Grin

It is recognized as property in many countries, including UK and the US. In Germany, it is regarded as currency.
Not quite yet, herc in Philippines where we are one of 3rd world country, bitcoin doesnt discovered yet by 97% of people

Very true. I only know of about 5 Australians who are on bitcointalk, and there's only one bitcoin atm in my state. It's also down for maintainance 24/7...

Yeah, although bitcoin is still going through adoptions and still has a long way to go till it becomes a complete global currency, I'd say that we're getting there. There are more people right now that know about bitcoin, than 2 years ago. Which is obviously good.

I'd say that within 5 years we will see a major shift in wealth into bitcoin.

Yeah, there's more than a chance. For me, it's pretty much guaranteed that bitcoin will become the dominant currency across the globe. This fiat currency cannot continue forever to scam us.

Bitcoin is decentralized as well, which is the direction we're heading for.

Bitcoin is now getting a viral level where the governments will find impossible to control or contain living them with only one option of accepting it and moving forward and maybe formulating some laws regarding the btc. This is surely a global currency that will usefully bring change. the only problem is hoarding the coin.

By saying bitcoins is becoming a global currency does not mean that everybody will use bitcoins. For me, it is only required that the whole world or majority of the countries will recognize and use bitcoins, we can already see it now actually as some of the countries are already aware of bitcoins but have not meet the massive adoption yet and it will happen in the near future.

You can say that Bitcoin already is a global currency because everybody who has use to the internet can make use of it. But it has not the popularity of a real global currency.

In the future more adopters for bitcoins and with be very good for the people as we can use the benefits of bitcoins being decentralized. It will probably become a global currency as the world have already aware the existence of bitcoins, with continuous spreading of the good news they will find it interesting and try it, and once tested they will experience the benefits.

Hoarding is a problem because it halts the process of expansion thus keeping the bitcoins within our group of regular users so how can we manage to go globally with some attitudes like greed and selfishness.  ow just kidding with the last phrase. Smiley

I do agree that one day bitcoin can be global currency. It is revolutionary and it's no surprise that its being adopted by so many countries. Bitcoins are still banned in many countries which is bad for the growth of btc. It will take more time to understand the advantages and to regulate, recognize the bictoins globally but I believe that in future it will happen.
You somehow can see Bitcoin as a global currency because of you have access to the internet you can make use of Bitcoin. But it still has to be more popular to be a real global currency.

I completely agree on this, just look at bitcoin's trading volume and the transactions made.Yes,only a small percentage of people are using it regularly, but as bitcoin makes it's progress we will witness how it's slowly becoming a global factor.

That's true, the fact that it started with a small market and now it is steadily going up that is a good sign the it is becoming a global currency. In the near future we see a major improvement of the market of bitcoins as more people are continuously using it.

That is why traders are more active these days because they want to share and expand bitcoins reach to the fullest.  And hoarding bitcoins only slows the movement of it.
