Qatar is a Muslim country and they clearly stated that they cannot change their Muslim culture for this one month tournament. So in their country, drinking beer in the studio or homosexuality, like the European countries, they also put some restrictions on girls' clothing so that they can retain their Muslim culture. I don't see anything wrong with what they have done as a Muslim dominated country. How they will change their culture for one month which they have been following since ancient times.

When I was in UAE, which is also a Muslim country, there were possibilities to buy alcohol and I saw a lot of male people walking hand by hand on the streets and kissing each other. Why in UAE, in hotels bar you can freely buy alcoholic drinks? The laws of Islam does not work in hotel then? Turkey is another Muslim country - alcohol is available in every corner of the street. Why then some countries can adopt their culture for foreigners and other dont? People that complain about Qatar restrictions are overreacting imho, and of course some of them "special category of people that have zero respect towards others". They will always find something to be dissatisfied with.

Beer ban - was beer really banned, or fans were just not allowed to get drunk on public from opened bottles?
Hotels prices spiked - that always happens. Being a fan that support object of favourite abroad is always expensive.
Women fans - I saw plenty of almost undressed women on the stadiums.
LGBT - they probably were performing really unappropriated on public and got a warning (by a first to face probably ). Yet again, people has pumped that huge, while there perhaps were like just few cases of threatening.

Anyway, it is what it is because America's closest allied countries are really granted with an almost easy access since then. That said, they will have the most advantage in this event because they will not be having any troubles in entering towards US soil compared to other people especially if they came from a 3rd world country, but there should be no problems at all to watch this event as long as they have the correct requirements and completed every check that they placed before you will be granted an access.

That is probably the only major problem people will face during the next world cup, the US is very strict with its policies and getting a visa will probably get harder as they will probably receive millions of applications to watch the games live, I suppose that for soccer fans one of the basic requirements to get a visa to watch the games will be to have bought a ticket already and have a place to stay, still it would not surprise me if under those conditions many people were still denied entry and they will fail to make it to the world cup.

I do not think they will bend the regulation for this kind of event.  The visa will be processed normally, with no special consideration because it is the safety of the nation that they prioritized here.  People can still watch the match through PPV.  Beside,  there is still plenty of time to apply and be qualified for visa so if a fan really wants to watch the matches live, then he must prepare his entry as early as possible.

I don't think bad ideas when alcoholic is not allowed at FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, all matches play on time and never any problem due many people disagree after Qatar not allowed with alcoholic until LGBT. Should respect with the rule in some country and the most important about all football matches is running well without any problem yet.

Building joint ventures so to say in order to submit applications to host the World Cup will also take place more often because if there is one "union" consisting of three countries applying for a World Cup and all other applicants are standalone applications, there is of course also a bigger lobby behind that union (unless it is the USA alone). But the approach to giving the tournament to several countries at once is probably more popular among society than just giving it to one country every four years. In terms of equality and also integration globally between countries this approach can only help. But infrastructure is the most basic issue here as bigger World Cups need more infrastructure. Still the USA could have done it alone, but perhaps Mexico would have had problems alone and therefore they plan beforehand to get smaller, less equipped nations under the roof of the bigger ones in a timely manner.

As you said, as long as the tournament is enjoyable and going well, I am also all or it. But I expect a great World Cup 2026. Not many reasons speak against it.

I think Canada probably pulled their weight on this one and USA carried Mexico due to football country. USA has been getting better and better at football, they have been providing some challenge to teams at world cup as well, just as we have seen them on the last one as well. But we need to realize that they are not there yet, they are still amateurs at this level and they need some improvement.

But, if you look at the home court advantage, we are going to see them do a lot different things when it is home court and that's why I believe that it shouldn't be all that shocking. I know that it would not be suddenly different and it depends on the drawing, but if they draw teams that are a bit easier and if they have the home court advantage, then I can see them going as far as semi finals, not impossible when you think about it.

First off, there's really nothing wrong from prohibiting alcoholic drinks because Qatar is not a place to get wild and everything, people go there to enjoy the culture and other things that Qatar can offer. As from the recent World Cup, people surely could use some alcoholic drinks but since they are in a Muslim country with a different culture and rules, it's certainly not that hard to understand because we have a duty to have some slight study before we go such places so that we can know more about what are the do's and don'ts.

The image you had posted is spine chilling. A lot of young people lost their lives out there. I agree that countries like Qatar are unlikely to host the world cup ever again. There were bids from 5 countries for hosting the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup. The last round voting was done between Qatar and the United States. And this is where Qataris bribed some of the delegates from Asia-Pacific and Africa to gain crucial votes. In the end, they defeated USA by a margin of 14-8. Saudi Arabia is looking forward to host the event in 2030. I don't have any issues with them, because they are trying their best to integrate themselves with the modern world, unlike the case with Qatar.

It is 100% going to be easy to get visa if you have a ticket. I do not doubt that if you arrange everything accordingly, it is going to be 100% guaranteed you will get in unless you are wanted for something or other. If you get a few tickets for the game, a booking for a hotel, and the plane tickets to enter and leave, that would give them all the proof that they need to trust that you will get in and out.

Only people who won't be able to do that could be people who have no jobs, no nothing, and they look like they may stay there and that is a very very specific amount of people, 99% of the people with these information when they apply will get in, there won't be any trouble. How do I know? I have a friend (well a friends father) who goes to every single world cup and he does this and had zero issues in any nation at all.

Even though religion and culture must be respected, prohibiting something because "it is not common for your country" seems weird to me. For example next tournament will be held in Germany. Germany is famous for their sausages and beer. Then what, all the Muslim countries should skip this tournament because of that? Or they should be forced to taste it? This cup will be held in US, and their famous food for breakfast is fried bacon aka pork - haram for Muslims. Football fans went to Qatar to enjoy football and they should be allowed to enjoy it the way they want (but what not against law).

I just dont get why I must follow other religion rules, if this is not my religion. If alcohol is prohibited, then what, I cant touch food and eat with left hand, because it is prohibited in their religion? That's true but finals or knockout games sometimes have their own laws to a certain degree. The game between France and Argentina could have also ended differently. There we so many minor things that in the ended went in favor of Argentina, but I do think that they are the deserved winner. France was too passive for too long during that final game.

At the World Cup 2026 I expect a French national team that is more awake and focused on the moment. In 2022 they also slowed down in the game against Morocco where it didn't really look like a typical France game. They were behind or even in all statistics except for goals. Morocco had 62% ball possession and higher passing accuracy. Since we are talking about France here, that is not quite normal.

But with this loss in the back of their heads they are now looking forward to their next chance and avoid the mistakes they made last time.

I could never imagine that a country with Muslim traditions could host an event like the World Cup.

In 2026, I'm almost sure that several national teams will surprise the whole world.
Year after year, countries around the world are taking football seriously as a serious sport.
They are training more, some countries are investing in football and teaching young people and children to practice this sport.

In my life I would never have imagined that Morocco would be able to participate in a World Cup semi-final (I'm not putting it down, but that was something unbelievable)
Germany was easily eliminated and had a poor performance in the 2018 and 2022 cup.
Italy did not participate in the last world cups (2018-2022)
Croatia beating Brazil sensationally (2022)

I will be very curious to know how the 2026 world cup will be!

Bold of you to assume football fans did not enjoy the last world cup. The Qatar world cup was among the best world cups ever. It's already safe to assume that America will show some slack when it comes to their application to have a foreigner visit their country in aim to watch the upcoming World Cup but let's also expect that before someone can enter their soil, these people have been meticulously studied and searched thoroughly because safety is still a concern especially in an event like this where lots of America's enemy will disguise themselves as a tourist but they are not there to watch but to create problems that could include the tourists.

I think having a world cup in this region will encourage many new countries to have a serious approach toward football. Asia is a big continent but here we do not have any strongest teams like in South America or the European region.

The issue with Asia and Africa, who also held a World Cup at the time, is that at the national team level they have always had potential in the sub-20 and sub-17 categories, but they have not finished the continuity process with the higher categories.

At the end of the 20th century, it was said that an Asian or African soccer team should win a World Cup, in the early years of the 21st century...

2026 World Cup, each host country changes some of their rules so that foreigners from all over the world do not suffer. America will also make some temporary changes to their visa policy around the tournament otherwise ticket holders will not be able to watch the game. FIFA will certainly ease the rules for entry consultation with the governments of the US and the other two countries at that time. However, there may be a special focus on visitors trying to enter from a third world country.
