Lucknow's top order could not bat well today. Apart from KL Rahul and Ayush Badoni, none of the batsmen in the squad can bat well. But the way LSG started their innings, I didn't think the team would be able to deliver the target of 168 runs. LSG managed to collect 73 runs in the last pair of wickets.

KL Rahul scored 39 off 22 balls, and youngster Ayush Badoni remained unbeaten on 55 off 35 balls. The target is not too big, but LSG still has a chance to win if the bowlers can bowl well. However, right now I think Delhi will win today's match.

I would call this a batting collapse by the Lucknow Super Giants team. The openers did start well but none of those two batsmen can continue long enough. After that no batsmen were able to stay at the wicket and at one point in time there was 94 score with 7 wickets down. LSK could have been ended up with a lot worse score but thanks to Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan who took the match to 167 runs, something at which Lucknow Super Giants can bowl at.

But things still not looking good for LSK because Delhi Capitals are going after this target in a hurry and scoring at almost 10 runs an over. They now need 106 runs in only 84 balls and this should be an easy target with 9 wickets still in hand.

Seems like out of all the odds, Delhi Capitals are very close to winning this match. They need less than 30 runs in the last 5 overs, meaning the required average is less than a ball. The in-form Rishabh Pant and Jake Fraser-McGurk are taking this game away from the Lucknow Super Giants.

Jake Fraser-McGurk just got out making 55 runs but Delhi Capitals still have seven wickets in hand and no force can stop them from getting two important points from this match. Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel bowled very well no doubt. The bowling of these two bowlers was very controlled. Kuldeep and Axar gave them only 46 runs in 8 overs. And Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 important wickets. But I will say Khaleel Ahmed also bowled well. Although Khalil gave a lot of runs. But he picked up two important wickets of De Kock and Devdutt Padikkal at the beginning of the innings. If these two wickets were not picked up, LSG would have provided a big target.

A team cannot win all the matches in the series especially when you have to play 20+ matches in a series. There are few matches in which every team will lose and Rajasthan Royals had a bad day when they lost to Gujrat Titans. Nothing of this sort happens in their match against Punjab Kings and they are comfortably placed in this match. We are at a STRATEGIC TIMEOUT in the match and believe me Punjab Kings has to find out any strategy very soon on how to get the wickets of Rajasthan Royals batsmen else this match is all over for them. He is the no.1 ODI bowler as per the ICC rankings, and yet Rajasthan Royals paid just ₹50 lakh to get him to their squad. The individual he replaced (Prasidh Krishna) had a price tag 20 times higher. Anyway, I was satisfied with the way Samson utilized the bowlers. Last time, he under-utilized Maharaj and Boult.

Just as we saw a complete batting failure from Punjab Kings opening batsmen, the complete opposite happened when the Rajasthan Royals started their innings. The first four or five batsmen took all the responsibility of this chase and then Shimron Hetmyer played the quick knock of 27 runs in 10 balls and that caused the win for Rajasthan Royals. I wonder if he really deserved the Man of the Match as I thought Keshav Maharaj and Avesh Khan took two wickets each and made sure PBKS do not make a lot of runs.

Like me, many people probably thought we would see a high score in this match. I thought the LSG team would deliver the target between 200-220 today. Lucknow's batsmen are in good form and have several T20 specialist batsmen in their squad. Lsg players were performing well against Gujarat, Bengaluru and Punjab.

But after 6 overs of power play I don't think Lucknow team can collect 200 in this match. At the end of 6 overs, Lucknow managed to collect 49 runs. But the LSG team lost the wickets of De Kock and Deepak Hooda. LSG now collects an average of 8.16 per over. A bit more batting in the power play I expected from LSG's top order. KL Rahul remains unbeaten with 23 off 13 balls. If Rahul plays big innings, maybe LSG can collect up to 200.
