It's just that they have to see it is there because if someone is experiencing a problem, they will not see that there is still hope and it can make them try to find a solution. But they only see the darkest place where there is no light because they cannot see that hope. Healing oneself from addiction to drugs or gambling can be done by each person with an addiction, but it depends on how strong his intention and determination is to want to change and try to cure his addiction. I won't disagree with that.
A long time ago before the pandemic hit, most of my co-workers were working to get cryptocurrencies, either in investing or through a different form to accumulate it like faucets, bounties, and trading. That's all we talk about the whole day and we never even touched the gambling industry in all our discussions.
Now that I am working at home I can only talk with my neighbors and most of the discussions are about sports and of course, glued to it is the gambling industry. I can agree that the 5 people you're with the most will affect your thoughts and your view of the world but this will only happen to some extent
In my case I know people from varied backgrounds, some are "selling lunch to pay dinner" as we say in Brazil, they don't have savings and live paycheck to paycheck, others are financial free with their investments paying for everything they need in life.

We also need to adjust as it's not really easy, no matter how hard those people try, if they are already engaged too deep from their addiction it takes time before you can truly overcome this vice inside you.

Hang around with associates that gamble, you lot would talk a lot and do things that are gambols related and soon enough, you’ll find yourself wanting to gamble as well. It’s only natural.
