The Dutch needs some serious introspection. They qualified to this tournament by fluke, by overtaking another associate nation (Scotland) by sheer luck. They did well by winning matches against South Africa and Bangladesh. But the last few matches have been horrendous for them. And there is simply no excuse for what happened today. First they let the match out of their grasp by allowing Stokes and Woakes to settle in. And then in this match also the running between the wickets was horrific. The way Wesley Barresi got himself out was just pathetic.

Cricket is a round ball game so just as ten good balls are enough to turn the game, a good innings by one batsman is enough to turn the game. Afghanistan bowled seven good balls but one of Australia's batsmen did well and the win went in Australia's favor. Afghanistan first took 7 wickets for 89 runs and at that time Afghanistan deserved the win but some mistakes by Afghanistan cricketers made the match slip away from them. Maybe the Afghan cricketers should ask how many catches a batsman misses makes him play better because the way they took Maxwell's catch looks like they haven't practiced fielding before. Several times when they caught Maxwell they did not catch but they threw the match away. Just good bowling and batting is not enough to win a match but good fielding is enough which Afghanistan could not do.

These sort of mistakes are going to be very costly for Afghanistan. Already they are dealing with the issue of freezing of funds after the Taliban takeover. A win against Australia would have been earth-shattering at this point. But they wasted a really good opportunity yesterday. Anyway, now we are set for an exciting semifinal match between Australia and South Africa. Given the recent form of both the teams, I would say that Australia has a better chance of win. BTW, India needs to wait for some more time, to find out who will be their opponents in the semi-finals.

I am expecting that there will be a good fight in the semi-final matches. Each team has completed around eight matches but all but a few matches have been one sided wins. So I didn't have much fun watching the game in most of the matches but we are expecting some high voltage matches in the semi finals. If Australia's opponent is South Africa and if India's opponent is New Zealand or Pakistan, then the most exciting matches of the tournament will be the semi-final matches. India Pakistan matches are not as much as before but still I hope India and Pakistan will play semi-final. Although the equation is very difficult for Pakistan, Pakistan still has a good chance to play the semi-finals.

This is a true but Pakistan can doing good effort to go for play semi final. We all wish that the match between Pakistan and India should be in the semi-final and that Pakistan should beat India and reach the final and make us all happy.If Sri Lanka wins against England in tomorrow's match, it will be a very happy thing for Pakistan. Because Pakistan will reach the semi-final and Pakistan will face India. And every Pakistani wants that Pakistan reach semi-final and compete with India. We watch the Pakistan match because of which we are not interested in other matches.

If they had won one more match, then it was possible for them to qualify for the Champions trophy in 2025. Now they need to defeat India, in order to do so.

Finally England were able to win a match after a very lean patch, when the match started, i was not confident how England would perform even against Netherlands, but Ben Stokes played an incredible innings even when their middle order collapsed once again. This might be the last time this England team would play together as majority will be calling it quits after the world cup because of their terrible performance.

My take on the games that are meant to qualify automatically for the Champions Trophy:

• Srilanka won't qualify for the Champions Trophy as they would lose today or if the match gets canceled due to rain.
• Bangladesh might not qualify if Australia takes the game seriously
• England should qualify which means they might be able to beat Pakistan considering the kind of game played by them yesterday.
• Again if India plays the match against the Netherlands in the same manner they have been playing then the Netherlands might not qualify
