Smiley Easy things first. To see the hashrate division in a certain timespan take a block explorer and it shows you who mined that particular block. Just do this for N blocks and you can calculate which percentage is mined by which wallet. In the original design of bitcoin you had to sustain a 51% for a long time to do harm. With KGW it retargets pretty fast so depending on the algo it can be hours to days.
As important your malware and virus scanner warns you something fuzzy is going on as important is it for a coin to get warnings when something with the hashrate division is going on. Thats reactive security.

To keep it easy I will skip details as much as possible and some internal things I did not investigate thus do not know the exact functioning. For active security you have to dig in the mining protocol. At a certain moment a lot of hashing is done and when some node finds a block everyone is notified and starts confirming the finding. In the current protocol everyone "forgets" the past and there is no mechanism I know of that keeps track of who mines what. It is taken care of on a block by block basis. If you want to protect a network against concentration you need to know what a certain node submitted in the past. To get that information now you have to load the blockchain. But what if you do keep track of who submits what whitin a certain timespan just in the protocol. With that knowledge you can put a ban on a source for a certain amount of time. or whatever measure you take to slow down things a bit.  At that moment this very high hashpower miner is not able to do any work until his ban is expired. If there are people over here with in depth protocol knowledge I would love to discuss this because it save me a lot of investigation. I also can name dozens of problems to address but thats a challenge...

Cool stuff, I'm sure Geert Johan is reading this and understanding it all. Grin All kidding aside, I like the fact that we could weed out any possible threats and if need be ban them for a period of time to make sure no attack is launched. It could lead to false bans and might add some negative value to mining NLG if you have large mining-rigs and don't want to get banned for having a large rig (no pun intended), but some necessary evils can't be avoided I suppose. Maybe send Geert Johan a PM, I'm sure he loves to discuss these kinds of things or knows someone that does.

Conclusion:
I doubt GND is aiming to attack the coin, this miner has been in the network for a long time and if he/she wanted to perform a 51% attack he/she could have already done so already.
GND is probably dumping coins on the market now and then, but that could be explained because those MH/s don't pay for themselves (ah well, indirectly they do)..
Having said that, it would indeed be better for the network to have a evenly divided hashrate. This will take time, as more miners join the network.

For now I don't see a lot of things we can do. KGW is doing it's work nicely, taking the MH/s waves as they come and go.

The NDA address is the Hardcoreminers pool (the awards in the block chain to the NDA address are the ones that Hardcoreminers reports to have found). That pool is doing 0.7GHs/s atm, with one user doing 0.5GHs/s.

Did Swisscex fix their bugs by the way? If so, we can go back to trading on there.

I think so but there are still some bots trading over there but that's no problem.

Yeah that happens everywhere. As long as the system handles it, it shouldn't pose any problems.

So we will have some other news today, excluding the 2 updates that will still come this week... it might have to do with a new offline merchant and something your girlfriends and wives would love too apparently. Smiley

Yes, something nice will be announced today! And this week we will give more details about the iOS project and how we can work together on that.

How important is it for NLG to have a iOS wallet? Is it a nice to have or will it bring more business? I know it would be good for the price as not many coins will have it.

More business, increase in price, first scrypt coin to have one in the world meaning more news coverage and more users. Full-fledge, full-service cryptocurrency. As it should be Grin

We are very happy to announce our latest merchant: Lasercity.

LaserCity has been the trusted address in South-Holland for the last three years for the removal and fading of tattoos. But also pigmentation, birthmarks and age spots. LaserCity also offers lasering of onychomycosis and permanent hair removal through I.P.L.

This is brilliant, now it's not just food, NLG getting a variety of merchants! Smiley

HUP HUP! Can we use Android payment for the store or do we pay before we go?

I just want to thank NLG team for the NLGcup during the world cup, it was fun and maybe we can use something for European finals or maybe Champions league?

Lazercity approached us which is great, this was due to the media attention we have been getting lately. There is a lot of work being done in the background and please all if you want a merchant to accept NLG let us know which ones, if you don't want to approach them we can help. Smiley

great work on the new merchant!!  so excited about the future of NLG.

On a side note, about nlgcup.com,  I saw a few posts up there was some talk about running it again for 2016 Euro cup, I'm definitely all for that.  great idea!  As far as using it for champions league group stage, my only concern is that since the champions league is a much longer duration (sept 2014 to june 2015) with a lot more games, many of the matches probably wouldn't get a single bet.   If people who are interested in betting see there are no counter bets, they'll stop showing up.  I could be totally wrong on this, just my instinct.  If they do run it for champions league (nlgleague.com?) I'll definitely be there to support it.

The beauty of the Euro cup / World cup is those competitions are a short period of time combined with the fact that they are national team level, so folks who aren't even into football get excited about it.    Similar to the olympics, I don't follow speed skating much until it's winter olympics time, then I become a hardcore speedskating fan for a few week rooting for the Dutch Smiley
