I think he means that if you purchase something online, the business accepting the btc or nlg will sell those to usd or eur. Because their bills must be paid with usd or eur (suppliers, factory, workers, electricity, etc)

The Merchants NLG should be after now is gift cards, coffee shops, any food and beverages. Stuff that everyone wants and under 10 Euros. Houses and Cars can come in 3 years time when the value is much higher.

Houses and Cars can come in 3 years time when the value is much higher. I agree with that. As the value of GuldenCoin is still quite low, you shouldn't buy and sell stuff with a high price. That's the same what is said earlier about one of the biggest ASICs shops in The Netherlands. However.. if we can use GuldenCoin to buy such expensive stuff I'm sure it will increase the buyorders of this coin . However, I think the current market isn't ready for such transactions yet. For small purchases it can be good. You mentioned "coffee shops" Wildwest, how about using "GuldenCoin" at the Dutch Coffeeshops (which sell cannabis instead of just coffee). I think it's a great way to pay anonymously for your cannabis by paying with Guldencoin! Hey development team & GuldenCoin crew, note this down .

Maybe a good idea for the dev team is to build a website where you can donate to charity. Like Warchild, kankerfonds, WNF enz. I would set a cap like 100,000NLG per chartiy and when donations reach that cap contact the charity in question to say they can collect a donation only thing they have to do is download the wallet en send out a press release or something like that. I think this will generate some positif media attention in the long run and we can donate some of our mined coins to a good cause. Just my thought's

The dev team should indeed add an up-to-date counter to the website regarding each funds. By donating funds to a Dutch charity they might reach the media and press indeed. For example the Dutch SBS program "Hart van Nederland" might be interesting in this kind of news, as they Always have that charity-related news (in contrast to the NOS etc). The Dev team might consider to create a page where you can donate to individual created charity programs too. I think some people are interested in these programs AS LONG AS THEY APPEAR TO BE LEGIT. So, someone has to escrow this service (or the GuldenCoin team has to do this themself). "Hart van Nederland" shows such individual charity programs each day, for example now about that girl that went to the USA for some oxygen therapy (which was possible because of the donations that were send towards this project after an episode of Hart van Nederland I guess). Sending GuldenCoins to such projects is way more easy - atleast for us - than doing it the regular way by bank.

I agree... target the home country first, and create a buzz. http://www.charity-charities.org/Netherlands-charities/Netherlands.html has a pretty good list. -Fuse

Hi all, I just made a small program that iterates over the latest blocks in the chain and calculates the cumulative of mined coins per address. The results are interesting. Please note this is just an indication as to where mined coins were sent. It doesn't exactly say 'who' mined the coins. It's also important to note that the program still fails to analyze a small few strange blocks, such as 72028 ( http://dutchpool.org:2752/block/e1e106cc16a68528529436b949ad0265a9eb033998ca68d4cd6fc9747ab2220a). I'm still working on a fix, but the impact on the results below will be very small and I didn't want to keep you waiting. I've ran the program several times with a different number of historical blocks analyzed. Hi all, I just made a small program that iterates over the latest blocks in the chain and calculates the cumulative of mined coins per address. The results are interesting. (INFO REMOVED TO SAVE SPACE)I hope you find it interesting! Thanks! /GeertJohan edit: fix minor english mistakesI'm not sure the figures are 100% correct. Both my pool and personal addresses are in the lists, but the numbers don't quite correspond with what I'm seeing on my end as total mined coin. Can you clarify how you got the values that you've calculated? This is a really interesting set of data, and a great tool for analyzing trends in the blockchain. -Fuse

I'm sorry to say this, but every coin forked off Bitcoin is not suitable for anonymous transactions. I am currently researching exactly how much information can be found on the network and how hard it is to point out the actual owner of an address, but my lab results show that this can be done. It may be a little more obscure, but obscure is not secure. Just my 0.02 NLG.

Are you sure you can accept any possible answer to this question?

You're correct. As I said: the program isn't perfect yet. It's showing the global lines but it's still missing those strange blocks. I also just fixed a bug that omitted some tx addresses. We'll might create a small site for this showing these numbers and updating every hour or so.. /GeertJohan

I really like this stuff but hardly understand how the bloackchain actually works. Anyone know a nice site with some more explanation?
And, is it possible to play with the downloaded blockchain in my little Windows 7 (home) machine, or is this impossible?

A little analyse from the post of GeertJohan (thanks for this info): So, there are 4 big miners at the moment out of 35 (last 5000 blocks), 1 has recently stopped (he/she mined 15.3 M NLG of 72.2 M NLG!!). Despite the rise of total hashrate, less miners over time as it seems. We can get a lot more miners via http://www.coinwarz.com/votingLast 50.000(!!) blocks (starting from 72227): 01: GaySmUZKJtBUViU3B7GE91H4FnZKZMDPhi: 15340088.438828 02: GdDkjtEeKm1r26zhXj6TpHqu3FGDbpHaRg: 10748033.674306 05: GNDA5MZWcm4AjLtNuEmYpgH8qsxo4vrnY8: 2682029.312902 12: GMnaaMMV66NHmsEVVfik2tGinMQ8nVG1DA: 740541.124127 19: Gc37wyZ2UqxRBkSf8S8xowrGTy2KDpgksQ: 183150.405306 1257: .......... Within 3 or 4 weeks we should be there! Price of NLG has stabilised and rising slowly but steady now. All buyorder numbers from 82 up to 101 filled, without gabs. Good sign, I think!
